If you can watch a few ads from time to time, great, if you can donate from time to time, even better. Better yet - join the Patreon! See below for a link.
    🟪 Support Me Please!
    I make next to nothing from UA-cam (it works out currently at only around £2 to £3 per 1000 views - yes, that low). Patreon & Buy Me a Coffee are good ways to help me keep this channel going:
    I have giveaways, exclusive vids, preset packs, samples, field recordings, AUM sessions, etc., on my Patreon. The top Patreon tier even has lots of desktop plugin giveaways. You can get a warm glow from supporting me while getting nice things in return. Everyone who’s a member there thinks it is wonderful and that joining is a no-brainer.
    🟡 Check it out at patreon.com/Gavinski
    One-off donations are also gratefully received. Donations and Patreon memberships are really the only chance I have of getting compensated fairly for my work here, so I really appreciate donations:

    How is your video the only one on UA-cam yet? Crazy… thanks for the effort.

    • @GavinskisTutorials
      @GavinskisTutorials  4 місяці тому +1

      Cheers! Thing is, it's not actually that crazy at all tbh. There is a lot going on with this UI. It took me an entire day of morning to night work to learn this app and to prep and make the video, and that was rushing under time pressure. And yet this dev's apps are not available through sites that offer affiliate links like Plugin Boutique. So nobody really has much financial incentive to cover it, or at least not to cover it thoroughly. My vid currently has about 1000 views, which translates to about £2-£3 of UA-cam ad revenue. It will likely never get more than a few thousand views, so...no mystery tbh! 🤷‍♂️

Time limits are needed as delays in one person replying cause delays for me, the dev and other winners. The sooner you reply the better! So please do two things ASAP: shoot me a reply to this message when u see it, and send me an email too, letting me know which ToneBoosters app you want. • @GavinskisTutorials

      Thanks man! If you are struggling yourself, I wouldn’t expect support! I think though that there are lots of people in this niche though for whom $5 or $10 a month would be a small or even tiny ask, and who also value my vids, so I hope more of those viewers read this and decide to support, either on Patreon or through one-time donations. Same goes for devs. Another reason I share these stats though is that every UA-camr in this niche is struggling like crazy - it’s important that people understand this. If someone isn’t into my stuff, but likes another UA-camr more - go support them! It’s also important to put this info out there to prevent others trying their hand at iOS music UA-cam as even a side hustle - by the time you realise how brutal this niche is, you’re already balls deep lol. 😅 Better to know in advance and just not to go there. If I had known back in April 2020 how things would have panned out by September 2024, I would definitely not have started this channel. But the story is not over yet, so maybe enough people will support and this will have a happy ending after all. Thanks for your wishes and concern!

    • @bazzmundo
      @bazzmundo 4 місяці тому

      It’s clear the passion and enthusiasm you have for the iOS music community. You and literally a handful of other still doing it which seems crazy with the potential of iPad for music production in 2024. Have you thought about collaborating with other musicians and iOS content creators for live streams or recorded videos. I wonder if stronger together is the way forward for our niche community.

    • @GavinskisTutorials
      @GavinskisTutorials  4 місяці тому +1

      @bazzmundo From the data I have seen and from what I have heard from others, no-one is doing well in this space. I just don’t know how people like Doug keep grinding away putting out so many vids when the view counts are so poor and so many watch behind ad blockers. Collabs might add subs, but I don’t think they would lead to much growth in my Patreon numbers or people donating. I already spent 4.5 years building up a loyal community on UA-cam, giving away many tens of thousands of bucks worth of apps to viewers, and giving amazing exposure and sales increases to devs. Anyone who is fairly serious about iOS music surely already knows my channel. If they are not serious, they are irrelevant to the topic at hand, as they would not become paying supporters. So, even among the hardcore iOS fans and regular app buyers who make up my audience, it is still very difficult to get people to donate or sub to Patreon. Even a Patreon like mine which is not a tip jar but is incredibly active, and where anyone who participates regularly in giveaways has easily won more value in apps than they have actually paid in Patreon fees. Growth of the subscriber count is basically irrelevant, because it would take years for my channel to even double in size, but the income from ad revenue would still be so tiny as to be insignificant. For small channels and niches, the slice of ad revenue is actually likely to diminish over time, as there are constantly more creators, but viewers are limited in how much time they can spend a day watching. UA-cam is already oversaturated. Given how little my Patreon has grown since I started it earlier this year - I have about 35 paying members currently, which is the same as I had in April, I am very pessimistic that it will be much bigger come 2025. Even if I plowed along doing UA-cam for another 5 years, I think ad revenue would still be tiny. Posts like my community post of a few days ago are some of my last cries for help. I might make a video about it. But unless I see a major uptick in community support I can’t keep investing all the mad amount of time into this that I’ve done over these few years. Man can’t live on passion alone, I need a bit of financial security, so quitting or a major pivot of some kind might be the only solutions. It would be a different matter if my vids just involved sitting down and waffling, but my work here involves a lot of time, a lot of learning, a lot of experimentation, a lot of admin. Thanks again for your concern.

    • @bazzmundo
      @bazzmundo 4 місяці тому +1

      I can really hear your pain and it’s so sad. For your own well being and mental health it might be better to have this as more of a hobby and find something better paid. Hi Gavinski, I am Bijo from India. Based on your experience, which one is better for a beginner's perspective (TB Eq 4 or EQ Pro)? I found both of those are having multiple options like (De esser, Volume doubler) .. so basically if I buy one, will that serve multiple purpose.. But as I said before, I am a complete beginner and having only less than 4 months of experience in Reaper). Which one are you recommending? Let me know once you get the time. (In my work flow, I want to add the following. 1) Tone corrector, 2) EQ, 3) Compressor, 4) Deesser, 5)Doubler, 6) Reverb and 7) limiter). Since you are an experience person, If you have any other suggestion, request you to share the same. So I am looking for a plugin, which will help to cover multiple purpose... Any help or updates would be greatly appreciated!!. Thanks. Bijo. 🙏

      Hi Bijo, I actually spend a lot of time in India and will likely be back there next year. I didn't really use the old TV Eq so I can't really advise you. Surely the newest one is better. I don't have time btw to give people detailed one to one guidance on their setup btw (though you could book a paid one to one voice call with me for that). Note tho that I do everything on iOS, I'm not familiar with desktop plugins that aren't available on iPad. Best of luck 👍
