Hearing all about your nefarious behavior and then being introduced to an awesome plugin is pure magic. What a smashing way to start the day. I love you guys!
Wow thanks for introducing me to Toonboosters. I hadn't heard of them before. I downloaded their plugin trials and was blown away. Flippin' 'eck. Pure magic! Thanks guys for making me aware
The only thing I haven’t looked for yet with this compared to Fab Q3 which was my go to is auto detect on harsh frequencies where they’d rise to be turnt down and natural and linear phase.
My experience with Toneboosters has been awesome so far. I need to revisit their stuff. I really like Reelbus (tape emulation) and Morphit (headphone mixing). EQ4 is pretty decent too, though pales in comparison to EQ-Pro. Great vid, guys!
I just demo this thing. And multi band compressor. Absolutely 🔥. Put both on mix bus. EQ - Comp. adds so much depth with the background eq on mids and highs then hit it with upward compression at a low ratio.
I bought this and the MBC, both excellent. I still haven't got my head around what all the various nodes do yet, but its deep and straight forward to use and is now my no1 EQ. It also has an interesting gain match section. Perhaps the FabFilter Pro-Q will be taken off my wish list now?
This thing is excellent for working on stems, precisely because of the autogain feature. Plus, the transient and sustain capability outdoes SplitEq by a wide margin if that one gets to noticeable, nearly no artifacts. SplitEq is super effective and I'll likely keep grabbing for it now and then, but I'm definitely going to pit against the TB offering. As for normal "dynamic" tasks, Kirchhoff is still king, still much more customisable, but I did use the TB one instead of that a few times also because of the gain matching.

This looked terrific so I went to have a look and discovered that if you download the installer, you get demos of ALL their plugins. I really liked EQ Pro and have already used it for some clips for a coming guitar review article with sample sounds from a PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow with Piezo. Very powerful and still really easy to use. I also bought their Enhancer plugin and would appreciate it if you fine gents would do an episode on it as my first uses were not so exciting and I, as always, expect that the lack of success is on me. Cheers from Canada!
Great review chaps. I've been using this for months and I love it. Check out the limiter and the Morphit (for headphones mixing). Any chance you could look at some stuff from Melda?
Completely fucked off with being unable to resize the Cubase eq. This is lovely and potentially can be integrated into the mixer view. So easy to use as well. Top one lads.
best slept on plugin developer out there. Affordable, top quality, innovative, not hobbled by DRM, Defintely up there with Fab Filter but less than half the price
LOL the old cease and desist letters. I had a band called The Dixie Chickens back in the 1990s. We used catch phrase on my road sale. Lets say it was a from a fast food Chicken shop. The best one for undies was finger lickin good. God!!! to be young again. Wait no!!! Prob Jail now days. Oh good show today...
cheers, great as usual. 😊 I saw that you can't control the ratio or the release time, in the dynamic EQ functionality... is that anything that would put you off? ta
Dammm-I just demoed the Headphone EQ and their 2 synth VSTi's. You guys have to get them to spot you a 20% "get the whole f*ckin' lot" discount code. Where have these guys been? Really really great plug-ins.
Thanks for covering these guys. It is "interesting" that the best developers don't get reviewed very much on UA-cam. It says a lot about your shit channel that you are willing to cover the small money folks as well. 🤣Other developers that are woefully overlooked are: Valhalla DSP with their Vintage Verb and Delay plugins. Sonic Charge with their Microtonic and Permut8 plugins (they make noise Dan). Kazrog with their True Iron and True Dynamics plugins. SIR with their StandardClip and free SpectrumAnalyzer plugins. Sonimus with their Console Emulations and TuCo Compressor. All are reasonably priced, with a decent upgrade schedule and fair DRM. Thanks for supporting the little guy. Cheers.
It's a pretty amazing plugin. I would say the downsides are that its GUI isn't as fast as Pro Q3's. TB's is a little clunky in comparison, but not nearly as bad as Kirchhoff's. Pro Q3 really has the GUI nailed down, it's SO fast. As noted elsewhere in the comments here it's missing the feature where you hover and Pro Q3 spits out a bell that you can grab (with an appropriate Q no less??? I love that). It also doesn't automate as well in my DAW. I use Digital Performer so honestly that's on me for using ancient garbage for a DAW hahaha. It's probably better in Logic etc. EDIT: Forgot to mention, TB's eq matching is the best I've tried in any plugin so far. Good review, thanks for the perspectives.
LOL! I did not expect you to do a review, was not my intention. I just wanted to share it with you! I was blown away with the features and the price so i thought you might love this one :) And yes it has replaced my Pro-Q3 ;)

Always loved Toneboosters, proper good plugins for a great price. I'd forgotten about this, I have the other EQ. TIme to crossgrade.
Glad to see my new fav eq getting some well deserved love ❤

Lots of similar eq these days but this one seems to tick all the boxes and at a great price.

TB makes great plugins at a very low cost. This sounds great!

nice one. would be great if you‘d review some of your studio gear. especially interested in the lyd 48‘s which don‘t have enough reviews on YT 🙌🏻

I always found Fab filter way too overpriced, this is a nice affordable option. I like it 😊
I looking at this one or the Crave EQ. Curious about everyone's opinions.

Jeroen Mr Toneboosters is a DSP legend. Highest quality + value. They also port all their plugins to the iPad which is great for making tracks on iOS.
Good, functional EQ (I still preferer using Pro Q3)

Agreed .. between them and TBProAudio, you could basically cover 90% of your workflow with some really great plugins
I was sure you guys had done a tbpro review before and it was the free and good Gsat+

@@bobbyweezer No....a lot dynamic eqs don't have ratio...release control would be nice...but not a deal breaker. 👍
If you'd like those features, try the EQ4 by ToneBoosters. That one does have ratio, attack and release settings for the dynamic eq nodes.
