The demo at 9:00 is the difference between moving with the music and not. Big difference. Kudos to the EQ, but you're clearly doing a lot of work to make it sound good. Great tool being used by a great mixer. Great video!

Toneboosters has consistently been innovative, also their compressor on the punch mode with a good attack and release is 10 times cleaner then the next cleanest comp on the market!! amazing stuff
@@pluginhoarder I've been in the industry for long time and near on one is doing the math side of plugins like they are. Also airwindows tube2 and totape8 are some of the best for saturation, completely free. I have yet to find a paid plugin that can actually come close for mixing. Arturia coldfire is my go to for creative purposes though.
Airwindows is by far my favorite plugin company. Crazy he’s doing all that alone and for free….. I was thinking about doing some comparisons of totape8 vs the big guys

Nice review. I had just downloaded this to try after watching Dan Worall's brutal (and admittedly, biased) review of KEQ vs Pro-Q3, and it looks really capable and intriguing, at half the price! I've been a long time fan of Tone Boosters, but only have used their legacy free plugs to date. That may change. Also, based on the name of your channel, it is probably a place where I'd fit in. 😂

@MattStevens9824 very transparent! Haven’t noticed any artifacts. It’s great at cleaning up mud, best advice is to try the different algos because sometimes the ambience works better than the background and vice versa!
Amazingly coherent tutorial. Toneboosters should praise you. This eq makes pro q4 look almost old. To your snare smack enhancement i wonder if this eq`s sidechain is similar to Multiplicity. In this case you could use a ghost snare track in order to trigger the snare smack enhancer band only when the snare is playing. Or a ghost track of the whole mix with an eq instance isolating the snare as good as possible.

The GUI is amazing. The sorting of filters is pretty well thought. These details are important. Many plugins are badly designed and not user-friendly enough.
Bro I feel so dumb I got smartEQ4 recently and then proEQ4 came out and offered everything smartEQ dose. The prob with smartEQ (by sonible) is it dose not have a easy work flow as proEQ but the AI smart eq feature is prety cool, they both let you pull up all eq's and then it can balance out all tracks for you.

@@pluginhoarder what you think about the Dj Swivel plugins? I feel like they are on point. That distortion gives a substantial boost in luffs / percieved loudness without adding any actual db. Transient shaper is on point. Knocktonal does what it says (but I wish it could go by key scale eg C minor D major etc)

They also need to get this on plug in boutique it’s dope. Lmk if you create some pre sets, mostly to tackle mud but also to beef up 808, bass, and lead vocalist. Peace bro
Hmmm as awesome as it sounds to have eq control over things like ambience, transients etc. this does also seem a bit overwhelming. Sometimes having less is more when it comes to possibilities for me.
I hear you, the great thing though is this is a standard EQ in default mode so all the extra algorithms can be explored as you get comfortable. I spent the first month with this not touching anything other than the default EQ mode and then slowly integrated.

Yeah! I should have mentioned the demo is crazy dope! It doesn’t have silence and works perpetually. Only downside is no ability to save presets but that’s it 🔥
Pro Q 3 is still amazing! IMO the sidechain is much easier to use and the different phase modes make it a better mastering EQ. You can use this one free in trial mode without any limitation other than presets 🙏
