Cage should have been casted by a younger actor we already know Johnny Cage is a pretty boy Hollywood style for him to be an older version is pretty lame dude and Cole young is a made up character which is also lame. It seems like the directors made him the star of the franchise which obviously was supposed to be lui kang I was disappointed from the first movie big time I have a feeling the second one is gonna be too

Goro can defeat the Great kung Lao and win 9 tournaments straight. But when he faces off against Cole Young who can't even beat a cage fighter, but can destroy the 9 time tournament champion. I really thought they did Goro dirty in the last film and should have saved him for this one.
What I find absurd is that an already established character in the MK universe like Goro was defeated by a fictional character...just Stupid and a wasted potential.

I agree with you it would’ve worked out even the marvel films. Follow the comic books to a certain degree. They don’t really go off track that much. And it all depends on your preference because some nerds get really pissed when they add new stuff and I like it if it’s subtle
Imagine if Linden Ashby’s Johnny Cage was directing his own version of MK and we see at the end that he directed and had Karl Urban was playing the acting Johnny Cage and The Miz was the real one? I know this probably wouldn’t happen but it would be just Karl Urban playing the real one and yeah he would probably play a MKX/MK11 style JC.
7:26 = What we actually wanna hear is that the sequel either sidelines Non-MK character for most of the movie or they simply kill him off. Literal Plot Armor Guy was such a weak generic boring character who had no business being made the protagonist over any of the actual MK characters that we all know & love. The story was weak, the fight scenes were just okay, characters weren't given much depth and some failed to even resemble their video game inspirations in terms of personality & motivation (Raiden being a prime example), the lore was largely ignored in MK 2021 (Outworld characters entering Earthrealm BEFORE the tournament, Goro killed again BEFORE the tournament of which he's the frickin' reigning champ, The Elder Gods not enforcing the rules of MK, Scorpion needing help to duel Sub-Zero??? WTF??? & those are just the ones at the top of my head) and lastly the headscrathing decision to appoint a character who has nothing to do with MK as the film's protagonist & his special power is Literal Plot Armor😵💫 So yeah, seriously low expectations for the sequel after such a bitter disappointment that MK 2021 was. I've been an MK fan since day 1 when the very first game hit arcades and have played every game since. I love MK but these new movies are just ain't it. The OG MK movie with Christopher Lambert, Robin Shou & Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa is still the undisputed best ever MK adaptation period and the WB Animation DVD movies are pretty cool as well, both of these infinitely way more faithful to the spirit & lore of MK than these new movies are.

What the creators don't get is that the tournament shouldn't be the first movie. It should be the movie that brings all the characters together like the avengers movie. Although I don't place much value on reviews, I'm still eager to form my own opinion, especially since this is just a test screening and changes are to be expected.
People have been hating it. Thats why it keeps getting pushed back to do re shoots. It was supposed to come out this October, now its next October. What a shame. Wish they could get it right

Thats just one reviewers thoughts. From what I hear, he is not a credible source. Probably just trying to freak out us fans and hide what really happened, so that we are blown away when the film finally drops. Heres hoping. I for one enjoyed the 1st film. The only thing that urked me, was Cole killing Goro. I cannot wait for 2. Psyched to see this version of Shao Kahn on the big screen.

The violence made the games but good writing needed to make the movie. The writer cant just rely on gore for the movies. You need a proper story and proper characters that expand and are true to mk franchise like the 95 movie.
Does anyone know where the test screening took place? I used to work at the theatre here in southern california where a lot of these test screenings got booked, and to think this one probably happened there and i missed it is upsetting

They should have followed the avegers model. But, instead of solo films, do duos with corresponding connecting characters with a true build up to the mortal kombat. I would've focused on the history between scorpion and sub zero in the first film, (with Raiden making cameos in each film). So on and so on until you build a decent roster of remaing fighters, break the final mortal kombat into 2 films. Boom
It would be great if the cinematography was like Welcome To Raccoon City where it stay tried to the games in terms of the locations and sets. And still have the feel of the 95-97 films.

What the creators don't get is that the tournament shouldn't be the first movie. It should be the movie that brings all the characters together like the avengers movie. The first slate of films should be MK:Shaolin Monks, MK: Shirai Ryu vs Lin Kiei, MK:Special Forces, MK: Kenshi Kabal and the Black Dragon clan.
Then you have the first tournament to tie everything together. But they're stupid so...

It wasn’t perfect but I didnt hate it so Im willing to give it a second chance as they kept saying they listened a lot of the fan criticism and learned from their mistakes for this one. So who knows! It could be worse or it could actually be really good! But I think it’s worth giving it a second chance since this is the movie with the actual tournament this time around!

It needs great cinematography like how Welcome To Raccoon City did with sets and locations looking like the games. And maybe the story can be like MK2-MK3.

The violence made the games but good writing needed to make the movie. The writer cant just rely on gore for the movies. You need a proper story and proper characters that expand and are true to mk franchise like the 95 movie.

They should have followed the avegers model. But, instead of solo films, do duos with corresponding connecting characters with a true build up to the mortal kombat. I would've focused on the history between scorpion and sub zero in the first film, (with Raiden making cameos in each film). So on and so on until you build a decent roster of remaing fighters, break the final mortal kombat into 2 films. Boom
And story concepts could have been just like how the games did starting with MK VS DC, MK9, MKX, and MK11.
