They is never enough money one can save to relocate to Nigeria. Someone can even take less than that and turn it around and still succeed.

You're right, Phrankleen. Broke people belittle money--any amount of money. That's why they are always broke in the first place. Money stays with people that honors and respects it. 50,000.00 pounds isn't a pocket change. It's a life-transforming amount. 98% of Nigerians do not have anything close to that whopping sum. That man who cannot make anything with #50,000 pounds will make a mess of 50 billion.

Relocation needs proper planning. If you have a normad mentality, relocating home, either to Naija or anywhere doesn't has to be a nightmare. It all depends on your altitude and mentality.
A guy I know lived in UK for more than a decade without paper, he just couldn't fix his paper. He concluded to learn professional plumbing. While he learns in the UK, from the stipends he earned, he started to buy equipments for his plumbing work and ship home to Nigeria, little by little.
After the training he hustle a while and acquire all his equipment, bought one way ticket and return home to Naija.
He came home with little money but with experience plumbing skills and equipments. It didn't took him up to one years before his plumbing contractor work pickups. The guy is in money as I speak now, he has 12 staffs, which he personally re-traied working for him.
If you go home and begin to flex, before you know, your money go finish. If you stay humble those on the ground will open doors for you.
Is not how much money you bring to Nigeria or Africa that matter, but whats your plans? How practicable are your plans? Where are you going, how did you intend to get to where you're going. The man who knows where he is going is never late for his journey.
Plan wisely and be money wise

That's more than half of some people's monthly salary. Convert £800 to Naira, you also have to pay Council Tax, Gas, Electric, TV licence, Water bills, Transport, food etc, separately. Forget it! Even if you are there it’ doesn’t mean you are the answer to their problems, you’ll be starting something you can’t maintain giving them false hope. Diaspora people feed it by giving what they don’t have, then they wonder why people keep coming back for more; where in Africa is there free money.... When your in Africa it’s best to move alone! When you move with people who have nothing to offer and only know how to say give me you’ll soon find yourself broke! There will always be an element of this but if you decide to give make sure you give to people who can give something back in return. Even a person with money will come around begging meanwhile they are building a 5 story home.

@@vanderumd11 did you watch the video, people are helping the problem is that they are getting taken advantage of. No one person can solve everyone’s problems. When we go back home we go back to create business opportunities to employ the nation and make things better, but we are met with opposition people who are jealous of your money and what you can do for others. Instead of being a good employee they are focused on stealing what you have and doing for themselves. If I was in their position I would be a good employee save the money that is available to me then start my own thing when I can afford it. Not stealing and creating bad relationships and enemies. Even those who have it are still asking yet they are building properties so why is it down to foreigners to keeping funding them? Also I have sent money back for thing so they can start a business and create an income but you know what happens I then become the person to go to when there is a money problem, if they are not making money with the capital you have provided then maybe it is not a good business, you can’t just keep sending money for people to experiment with their ideas, how many failed projects are you supposed to fund before realising the person is just not good at business, I don’t have money to waste.

Talking from a personal experience, my cousin whom is married with 3 kids, my father has been helping him and his family for YEARS. When we went back home we realized that he was actually doing very well. He bought a big house and all his kids are going to private school. This is a man who is not working but is doing very well and yet he continues to asks for money. I visit Nigeria twice a year for the last 8 yrs, I have never shipped a car home to use, I rather fix my brothers car with 200k and use it for a month and get out..... Nigerians will answer yes sir yes ma'am at the airport in US but start screaming when they get to the airport in Nigeria.
The same mentality is what made a friend working in Chevron to resign in Nigeria and relocate to the US with his family.......he has ran from Nigeria heaven into America hell fire of undocumented immigrants.

I have a very close friend from Nigeria and every time she spoke with her family on the phone she would tell them stories that shocked me until she explained. She used to tell them Britain was too racist and that the only job she could get was as a cleaner. She even told them she lived a room in a large house with other tenants like herself(my friend is a pharmacist)in reality she has a very good job with a mortgage in an affluent part of London. As a result her family never demanded much money from her.now I understand why she played herself down.her siblings even offered to send her some money, but she declined telling them, she earns just enough to pay her rent, buy food and transport. She even told them her friends give her clothes......i found it baffling until she explained.

Great topic for discussion and learning. Thanks for bringing it up and sharing with us. Your points are solid! As someone moving to Ghana in a couple of months with a family of nine I found it very interesting and informative. In fact when I shared a video on our family channel about our relocation to Ghana one of my school friends here in the U.K. told me I would return back to the U.K. faster than Usain Bolt lol. I smiled and after a chat he saw why it was not difficult for us to make that decision.
This case study is not singled to Nigeria alone, but across Africa.
What I’ve observed is that many Diasporans who work 9-5 here move to the continent with savings and decide to start businesses. There’s nothing wrong with starting a business on the continent. In fact that’s what we should strive for. The problem is the lack of entrepreneurial mindset. A farmer does not expect to harvest when the season is not due. There’s a time gap between starting a business and getting your return on investment. Business minds quote this average to be 3 years. It could be less or more, so moving to Africa and starting a new business without any external income streams apart from your capital and hoping things would work out is a recipe for disaster because hope is not a strategy. Most of the time we lack the local expertise needed to get things going. In the end we lose money and return which puts a lot of fear in others thinking of making the move to the continent. As an online entrepreneur and digital marketing consultant my advise to brothers in the diaspora is to find some time and educate themselves on building online business systems that can create income streams to make transitioning to the continent easier. In that case you would have the patience and time you need to develop your new venture without the pressure of running out of capital. God bless all brothers and sisters in the diaspora and those on the continent. Together we can build the motherland for the next generation to enjoy!

Most of us are OTT in our dealings. Zero moderation. We are extravagant spenders. It's a Nigerian problem. People in diaspora have to be honest with their friends and family back home. I always, and I mean ALWAYS "manage" their expectations of me. I only started being able to save some money when I started managing their expectations. We have to push the reset button, as I strongly believe it's a mindset problem. Lovely video by the way. Keep trucking. I'm already a fan.
