Nice work Bob, I am in the process of cutting about 400 steel buttons this would be really handy.

      Thanks Cliff,
I've just finished altering the belt guard to suit and have some sheet material to make a better guard over the motor so that when using flood coolant it doesn't get into the cover.
The lever operated closer has certainly made it a lot easier and quicker to make short cycle parts.
Next improvement could even be a pneumatic cylinder to operate the lever as part of a programme but that's down the line a bit.

Hi Bob, what perfect timing. I was just thinking about this over the weekend. Did a search today and guess what comes up :) Seems like you come up a lot in my searches. Hope you're feel well.

      Hi Shawn, I,m keeping well.
It is a relatively easy conversion to make it fit the Rapid Turn. The critical part is getting the adapter to run concentrically and radially true. When I first tried it even though the radial run out was less than .0005" when I fitted it the lever handle showed some wobble and when I checked the run out on the end of the Knurled adjuster on the closer there was about .010" of run out. I checked the adapter and it became obvious that though radially concentric there was a variation in thickness caused when turning the part round to machine the opposite face. I ended up fitting the faceplate into the manual lathe, taking a truing skim off it and clamping the adapter to it then machined the face flat. This improved it considerably but there was after doing this some radial eccentricity was evident so I opened out the through holes in the adapter and machined the outer register slightly large to enable me to centre it by clocking it and gently tapping it into position with the bolts not fully tightened. I managed to get the thing to run pretty well true after doing this but it still could do with a little more adjustment.

Why the Hell Have UA-cam decided that my video "may not be suitable Content for Advertisers. If you appeal they won" look at it until it has had 1000 views in the first week. I have made many similar videos without problems so why this one and why the slow response to reviewing their stupid Automated decision.

Maybe get a tripod. Interesting video, atrocious filming.
