Something to remember when choosing fabrics to upholster is to choose something with little to no stretch. Even though the fleece had a great print that fit the theme, it stretched too much when pulling taught. Everything else you did on the piece looks great!
Yes, a Yellowstone fan and yes, loved what you did. I’m sure that the client you did this for absolutely loved it. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
What a fun project. I loved the longhorn accent pieces you added. I looked for a shorter than 42" wide cedar chest for my walk-in entry closet for about 6 months, before finding a deeper chest with an amazing equestrian themed painted on the top. I'm nuts about horses and I don't have an attached garage, so its the perfect size for my divided weekly recycling, so the closet stays tidy. Great job on the chest, I'll bet your friend loved it:)
I actually have a lane cedar chest that has a cushion on top. I’m glad I watched this video because now in know how to take it off and reupholster it…thank you ❤
I have a Lane cedar chest. We called it a Hope Chest. My parents gave it to me my Senior year in high school, Christmas 1984. I still have all my things from then to my early 20’s stored in it. Maybe I’ll dig into it and take a trip down memory lane. 😊
I had a Lane Chest that had upholstery. I used it at a largish rectangular dining table that I only had 4 chairs. I put 2 across chest and 1 at each end. It was beautiful
Being a gal from Montana growing up in the ranch life style, I really enjoyed this make over. The fabric on the cushion is reminiscent of Pendleton fabric. Blankets, high-end clothing and wool accessories are made from it. BTW mix feelings on Yellowstone. We defiantly were not as violent as the series depicted. 😉💖💖💖
Very new amazing video I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((lcc
I missed you. I have to say that stripes are the hardest thing use for reupholstering, which that basically was. The tension on the fabric has to be just so, or it is obvious. Good job.

The Lane factory in Altavista, VA is no more. I have seen other flippers redo these chests and they would show numbers on the back that were the chest's manufactured date. Don't know if they continued to do that on their later models. I love to see these "out of fashion" pieces remade.
What a great transformation. You can tell the year of Lane chests by the six digit number stamped on the back. Read right to left if gives you month, day, year. 242212 would be Dec 22, 2024
On the bottom of the chest, you will see a serial number. That number read backwards should be the date. The two digit day of the month, month and year. Sometimes they will have an extra number to identify what factory it was made at.
Do you mean brush strokes? Sometimes, I like to see brushstrokes rather than a factory finish. I painted my front door HIGH gloss black and the brushstrokes add character to a bland door. MY 2 cents. I get your point though, not good for a car, for example.
What a nice redo. Love the color and the legs were definitely a good call. Thank you. Wishing you and your family a Blessed Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year 2025. I like the Yellowstone vibe, good actors, great mountain scenery just beautiful, but the language is way to much.
It certainly cleaned up the padded top and made it usable to sit on. The style might not be your thing, but it's definitely more usable than it was to begin with.
You may have an idea of the home it will bbe in and I think the fabric and those two heads and color may be just what the cowgirl ordered. You have good sense for this. Stay well and happy Christmas to you all.

Wow! Love the transformation! Did you know if you lightly sand the inside (cedar) it brings out the smell again!

It looks great Kara!! 🥰🥰
Thanks Kim!
That is so awesome. I will have to do this to mine. ❤️❤️
Thank you!! It’s so fun on these forgotten pieces
It looks great.
I have a cedar chest that I made in shop class in Jr High. I need to sand the inside to bring out the cedar.
I haven't watched 1 episode of Yellowstone.
But, this definitely does have a mid west vibe to it.
Very nice!
Very new amazing video I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((lcc

Thanks friend ;) I am far from a master when it comes to fabric but I did love this one! Merry Christmas!
great work , what did you use to fill in the hardware holes?
this one! It has been my favorite lately. linktw.in/iLdjmq

Thanks for watching! I did find the date, it was 1995
It makes no sense to put that into a landfill, only to buy disposable junk from China. Lemon Lady is saving the planet, to a degree.

Yes I found it when I put the legs on. Thanks!
LOVE the transformation! So adorable! B~}
Thank you! 😊
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture You are so very welcome! Merry Christmas and an epic New Year! B~}

Well, I guess I should’ve waited till the end of your video to comment. Glad you figured that out. Google is always so helpful.
Like the paint color, my only suggestion is that since you use satin top coat, unfortunately can see brush compare the other times you sprayed it…
Great suggestion!

Thanks! I agree with you about the language, though, haha! merry Christmas Donna!! appreciate you!
I appreciate you don’t sew or upholster, just a tip is to start with the corners, you’ll get a much tidier look
Thank you! I'll keep that in mind for next time!
Use a electric knife to cut the foam much easier
❤❤
That makeover didn’t help. Sorry.
It certainly cleaned up the padded top and made it usable to sit on. The style might not be your thing, but it's definitely more usable than it was to begin with.
Agreed! I give the client what they want but I certainly think this was an improvement!

Seriously?? It looks amazing actually. As the old saying goes, if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Absolutely. That is what running a business is all about.
