Always a pleasure to see you on the Elektron gear, bro. Congrats on the sponsorship - great to see you getting the recognition for the work you’re doing. Top work, as always! 🤟🏼👍🏼
My fav new channel. So much to go back through. Appreciate the visual and audio product dude. Great explanations of what you are doing as well. Thx for making these videos. “Oooh. That was the sub I was looking for” T-shirt merch needed
I want you to know that I really enjoyed this, excellent presentation and very educational and inspirational. *Even though* my music workflow is not sample-based today, I’m giving your Tracklib link a try just because you gave me some really good ideas about how I might want to play with some samples. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make such great videos for us all.
Cool use of the Syntakt here. I know you're a big fan of the Rytm, for someone who has OT & Rytm do you see a the Syntakt as a worthwhile addition? I'm starting to see more videos coming out with it that are utilising better sounds so getting more interested in it but still unsure if it's overkill with those 2 already. I have a DN & A4 because I love the Elektron workflow and how easy it is to just jam about but easily multitrack into a DAW if I ever want to.
Hey Man, on an open channel here on UA-cam, but just wanted to let you know as a fellow (amateur) producer I think your vids are awesome and I really appreciate what you are doing! Keep up the good work! Best, Igor (yeah, that’s my name too 😂) 🙏🏻❤🇺🇦
Hey, great video! I was thinking, this is a great video, how would you go on making a track of this? Would it be possible to record notes played and their respective parameter value as medi cc into your DAW and finally edit that and play it back through the synths themselves? I'd love to see that sometime!
Thanks for watching and your question! I'd exclude the DAW from this occasion. I'd arrange and mix in the box, then practice playing it, then record a master out into a recorder.
Great stuff! As a guy who recently got a Syntakt and is learning to speak Elektron, I definitely picked up a few things here. Modular is my main jam, and cool to see you have modular stuff too. Subbed and looking forward to checking out more of your videos. Cheers! :)
Hi Ihor, just a question: I’m considering to by some Elektron gear. What combo do you recommend? Analog Rytm + Analog 4 mk2 or Octatrack + Digitakt / Syntakt? I make deep tech - deep house sort of music.
It is a very tricky question, to be honest! It depends on many things. Hard to answer! One thing I'd suggest though. For Deep House and Deep Tech you would need good sampler, like OT and DT. Rytm wouldn't be that great for it, A4 doesn't have samples at all. Perhaps going with OT + DT + ST would be better. I'd highly recommend watching some of the EZBOT streams on his UA-cam about the OT setups. Very interesting, detailed and on point.
So if I had a few synthesisers and a drum machine running through a mixer, could I use a Octatrack as a sequencer / clock? Or does it have to be a Syntakt? I want a dawless set up and trying to figure out what I need to link everything together.
Either of them can be a main clock or a sequencer. It is a matter of a particular setup. Though it’s quite common to have an Octatrack as the main “brain” for the dawless rig. Octatrack might be a better option for sequencing external hardware, because it has 8 dedicated MIDI tracks. While on the Syntakt you’ll have to sacrifice a track to make it MIDI.
Ihor, do you rate closed back headphones for mixing purely on elektrons? I have rytm/A4 . I ordered Beyer 770s and 1770s to test. However I hear alot on how open back is really better for mixing but also have seen views that for EDM closed back is fine for mixing. thanks!
@@IhorMedia thanks! I really really like your vids! some more content around techno song writing esp how you build tension and release would be cool. Spasiba!
@@IhorMedia Exactly! I'm mainly using Eurorack for drums and have a crucible for cymbal and a metal o tron and Hihats D for hat duties. I'm wondering whether I should go back into the box as these modules cost loads (comparatively) and are very specific and if I should use the eurorack more as an FX box to route stand alone boxes through a matrix mixer. Decisions decisions!
@@outlier5844 Yes! Exactly this - decisions, decisions, decisions... Then after the decision was made, for me it is very easy to change it! For the Syntakt hats... well, they are better than on the Rytm. At least the digital once.

Lovely breakdown buddy, really cool to get insights in your workflow. 💚
Thank you my friend!
Loved this long and detailed walkthrough. Amazing and useful. Thank you Ihor!

You are very good at articulating a process. Looking forward to more Elektron sessions!
Thank you!
Awesome, so much inspiration 🙏🏼 Love to watch every vid!
I love this. I feel like besides the analog Rytm, OT and ST are must-have if you're into Elektron. Terrific work ♥️
Thank you!
Great stuff! Look forward to Part 2 :)
Love it as always. Thank brother!
What a great jam, soothing!
Love the mellow progressive track you made from scratch. It was a great treat to listen while I was working.
It was a surprise to see you with a T-shirt of my hometown! Cheers!
Cheers! I visited Malaga in the summer! Such a beautiful place ❤️
Thanks a lot that you share with us your experience
Loved it, thanks!
Really really love this! So incredibly educational from a sound design & composition standpoint - even if I don't work with Elektron devices
that track sounds so sweet
Happy to see another video from you. Really deep groovy track -- and using Octatrack too! 👍🏼👍🏼 I hope you're well. Keep jamming!
Really nice track Ihor, always love some good deep house. Also it's impressive how well you are handling those machines!
Thank you ✌️
That was beautiful, Ihor!

Always a master class 🙏💯
I'm personally extremely fond of my MPC Live + Syntakt combo so I bet it's even more wild with the octatrack.
Incredible
Beautiful combo! both functionally, sonically, and esthetically
Thank you!
Great series and superb track, love to see more of these.
Thank you!
I have the same setup. Thank you so much Ihor, I learned a lot 🎉
I hope there will be more parts 👀
Thank you 😊
you did a great job with this one ihor
And yes ordered the Syntakt (10 % off I can’t resist) please make some music with the new features of 1.1 firmware like chords, saw… Thank you !
13:07 very impressive beat sequencer. ❤

Very curious to hear your take on song mode!
Inorganic. Hope you are ok. Been a while since a release, no bother, but just hoping all is good. Look forward to some new vids when you can!:)
Thank you for kind words! I am figuring out some things in my life, but I'll be back to music and videos!

Привіт! Дякую за добрі слова! Звертайся!
i think best Elektron trio would be syntakt and digitone into Octatrack. Have you tried this trio, Ihor?
send OT cue output to audio input of either machine and have all 3 machines USB into DAW
This trio is a killer one. Despite that I’ve never had the Digitone, I know it is a beast haha

So, Syntakt for good hats and cymbals?
Well, not sure really. It is a love & hate relationship for me with hats and cymbals. Today I like them, tomorrow I don’t haha
