A little tip for the ghost is to send a ramp envelope to the filter that emphasizes the signal between the kicks. Made a lot of rumble loops with it last weekend. Thanks for your content! Really inspiring.
Dude! Wow. Once you unmuted all the tracks on the OT on the first example, I was into it! I am in the middle of selling down my modular palette, but maybe I should look into one of these setups.
I’ve been toying around with various Techno rumbles on my modular and for the most part found them not satisfactory. They tend to be muddy and just mess up the frequency spectrum. They eat up HP like there’s no tomorrow, too. It’s neat when you send it into an OT, where you can add filtering, gain staging, and EQ. For them to sit well in a mix you really need to EQ them well and even a dual HP/LP such as an MS-22 doesn’t clean it up all that well. Then you’re looking at reverb, delay, distortion, envelope follower, a VCA (perhaps a slew limiter), a filter, and an EQ, and a compressor and all you have is a kick with 80 HP full of stuff. I’ve toyed with lots of modules, but in the end, using a sampler with a filter and FX does it like a charm. Or, better yet, just add a bassline module such as the awesome Quadrantid Swarm or even a BIA and your Bassline is set.
My take on this is to make a number of nice sounding (by ear) rumble loops as a first step. Exactly what I did in this video. Then, when working on the track, find a loop that works and then mix it properly in the context of other instruments. Also for my personal taste I don't need to have a perfectly EQed, compressed and mixed loop to get into the jamming mood for sketching my music. My brain and ears can do all this for me. Of course if I were to finish a track I would pay much more attention to detail and mixing. But for sketching I am perfectly fine with the "muddy" stuff. You never know how it will play in the context to this or that in the future.
I made one with just Jomox kick ..lower freq kick or it won’t work. Used slow LFO on the pitch which gave that same verb kick sound Sounds good as hell I sampled it and use it still to this day
It seems a good way to create those loops and record them into Octatrack or any other sampler, as this modular setup isn't to play around with while performing, as it needs to be tuned precisely. Anyway pretty cool! I like the patch with Electus the most.
Hi Ihor my friend, Excellenti yet again. 3 ways of creating one’s own Kicks, must take ages changing over modules for 3 patch versions, haven’t got OT only DT would this sample Pallette case outputs to perform loops??? Thank you once more🇬🇧🕸⚡️🔱🌈🌀🌟💎🆒🎶🎶🎶
Hey Martin!!! ✌️ I actually didn't sample anything on the OT in this video! The idea here is not really for performance, but rather to make loops for one's library. I recorded everything on recorder and then in made 3 loops Ableton Live.
So cool as always! Im going to try something like this. Noise Eng LIP, Wasp filter, Librae Legio, electus, ruina, then messor. thanks for the inspiration should be fun! Just curious if you always prefer to use steppy or pull gates from midi on the octatrack for example. I feel like muting the sequence is maybe better in cases where you want to let effects ring out
@@IhorMedia We dont have to argue - im just against weapons - - (and groups like Wagner and Azov) but i still like your music,- Im sorry ... im a little embarresed ... i didnt know you were from Ukraine - i thought you was dutch - .... im Danish , but if I was Ukrainian , i would probably think like you .... i wish the best for you and yours ,-
@@MikkelGrumBovin Thanks you, Mikkel! I am sorry too! My message sounded a bit harsh. I am genuinely against war and weapon and I think it is stupid that humanity goes down this horrible route. However as a Ukrainian, whose country is being invaded by russian fascist, I can't be against giving all the needed support to my homeland, including the military. Especially the military!
I wish it was it was simplified- I feel it’s over complicated and by the looks of it, the modules alone probably runs over $2500. Could probably get by with a ghost module and cut a lot of the others out. Otherwise, sounds great.

That's a very great tip! Thank you, Slava!
I really dig the last rumble with the Lyra FX unit. Thanks for putting this together.
Your videos always make me want to bust out my gear and jam.
Go for it! Thanks for support!

Thanks!
Neat! That's the blueprint for great techno music. You are making things clear.
Thank you!
that messors tight for compression.. been looking a good half of a year, maybe less, for a good one, this and the endorphin 4hp i liked most.
Great demo man
Great! Highly appreciate your videos. All the best!
thank you, this looks an amazing module (and it actually is a very good demo of it).
Dope!
Inspiring. You make me want to mess with my delay times now. This is amazing! And I will shamelessly swipe these techniques for my show this weekend
Nice! It’s great that my work inspires! ❤️
I like the ukraine colors of the cables in the octa!
I love these colours ❤️🇺🇦
thats great stuff. And i like the tee! :)

You convinced me to get the Versio :D

Dope beats as always! very informative~
Psytrance eurorack :D.Keep up good work.
Thank you! ❤️
do you have a preference between ghost and versio for this? not sure if one or the other has more options for filtering/texture, etc. great video 🖤
Love the shirt

Delightful sound quality and timbre, from the octatrack too.
Edit: should not have looked at the price of the mandrake.
Thanks James! I have to admit that the module build is top quality. Hence the high price tag I think.
Hi James! Like Ihor pointed out, we've only used quality components and put great care in making sure the module sounds, looks and feels right.
@@malstromaudio thanks for your response! The quality is obvious and would save a lot of hp in my case. I'll look at UK distributors thanks again.

also maybe you are aware but the new overlays are available from Noise Eng for the versio and legio's. Waiting for mine to come soon!
Stop War Now ! More Weapons doesnt make more peace ! Play more Music ! Music is the Best ! - I love the music you make Ihor ! 🤗🙏
Music, unfortunately, won't stop the invasion. Ukrainians need more weapons and this is not an arguable question for me.

I love your profile your Tutorials & all of Theme....💎
But im from germany and understand Not all but im in Training...😂
Good stuff.
I noticed your Eurorack case is upside down, any particular reason for this?
1u makes no sense at the top when all modules have their sockets at the bottom i guess.
Exactly this. It is much more convenient and aesthetic to have 1U at the bottom.
