My Xenoblade Chronicles X machine is in my daughter's room, and she uses it constantly. We've collected a bit of a library of Wii U and Wii games, and they are so much fun.
i still have my Smash 4 machine with me and i highly recommend modding it, as its potential truly opens up when you do. its been getting a lot more use ever since
Man the Wii is so, so underrated. Quick shout out to Zak & Wiki, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Resident Evil 4 (motion controls ace), Little King's Story, Mario Party 8, The Last Story and Fragile Dreams. Love your picks, especially Sin & Punishment.
Yeah the WiiU is a great Wii. But also myself having a WiiU since 2013 I've had a long relationship with the console and I do enjoy the games, even if alot of them went to switch. But my WiiU I still turn on to play Wii games, Some of my virtual console and eshop games and there's still a few WiiU games that haven't left the console. So I'm oddly nostalgic for the console even though it's a failure
I love the fall backdrop. Fortune Street, I have that in hopes to play it with someone (and because it is Dragon Quest related) but I have never played it yet. I wonder if it still fun playing by yourself. I guess I should play it and find out. I want to replay Zelda twilight Princess again. I only every played the GameCube and Wii U version. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is Awesome! 3:00 that bird agrees
its sad that is the best thing about a Wii U in this day and age is just playing Wii games lol but at least you got some good fun games for it. the one Shiren game i played a lot of was the super long subtitled one that came out for the Vita. that one has some beautiful 2D graphics and thankfully you can play it on Switch and PC now
Mostly for me. A lot of people run it as an emulation device. I don’t really need it for that. I have the new Shiren game - just waiting for the inspiration to start it. Very hard to motivate myself for a playthrough lol.
I do the same, but with the Wii instead of the Wii U. I bought a used Wii as an easy (and cheap) way to play Gamecube games natively on my CRT. I have an HDMI adapter too, but I rarely play Wii games cause I generally dislike motion controls.
@@Majora_T Definitely. And it's not like that there aren't fun games with motion controls, like Wii Sports or rail shooters. I'll give Sin and Punishment a try, cause I've played the N64 game and it's one of the best games on that platform imo.
Love the Wii but sadly I’ve not played a single game this year, I was supposed to beat two games on the system but have not gotten to them yet, I have a couple of months 😂. Great titles BTW, a very underrated system.
A lot of people say how bad the Wii upscaling is in the Wii U, but honestly it looks about the same as ccomponent cables in 480p on a real Wii. I'm good with it. I might be able to get it better on a Wii with the Retrotink but I like having just straight HDMI out lol. I just wish I could use GameCube controllers in Brawl and Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Odd they never had any accessories for GC support on Wii U. Seems like they were trying to push their Wiimote peripherals. Nintendo has made progress on that front with some of the Horii products but there is a lot of work to be done.
@@Majora_T Yeeah, but there also wasn't much they could do about it. The official adapter works via USB and the Wii sees GameCube controllers and USB as seperate entities, so I'm not sure what else could have done in just vWii.
Btw zelda games actually benefit from the gamepad for inventory and map. Sad botw on wiiu didn't use that function at all. But wind waker and twilight princess on WiiU are the definitive way to play those 2 games in my book
I tried. I got the right apps running but couldn't figure out how to run any files on it and it made my discs unplayable. Ended up doing a hard reset to get the unit functioning properly again.
If you have no experience with that you can fumble it up really hard, i totally get people just using a wiiu, also homebrew on wiiu is much better, cuz you have mich more you can do, but who am I to talk, I have a pre 2011 wii and not a wiiu ;-;
It's a jar of tea!

Truly! There are some banger Wii games out there. So much heart put into them.
So will you be retiring it next year as it's coming to the Switch?
@@TheTomo910 No way! My daughter loves it.

Resident evil umbrella chronicles and mario strikers were my favorite games to play on the Wii. A lot of fun times!
Nice! I hope to try Strikers some day.

I (re)played some more S & P immediately after recording and was not disappointed!
@@benmcmanus4154 I LOVE The Last Story. I wish they could remake and expand it.
How is one of nintendos most successful consoles underrated?
same for me, I love wii games and mostly play those on my wiiu

Fortune Street stream incoming? I’d love to see you tackle some boards.
@@Majora_T When I hook up the ole Wii U I have to try it.
It's ease of use just because of the hdmi port but it's not upscaled at all
I would think it is upscaled when compared to playing a Wii through composite cables on an HD TV.

Understandably. There are a handful of great Wii games that are compatible with the classic controller extensions. Definitely worth not overlooking.

Personally I think the Wii U has some great games
What are some of the greats in your perspective?
donkey Kong country tropical freeze, splatoon,Pikmin 3 and super Mario 3d world are some of my favourites
No need to watch the video. U have a Wii U because you’re dope!
I do love a grape drank!

30 for 30 Wii challenge incoming haha! Take your time! The library will find its way back to you.
@ lol, that would be fun but I’ll be 30 in 30’d out
Wii u dawgs
Wii U for the real dogs
I always wanted shiren the wanderer and fragile dreams or whatever it was called
I had Fragile Dreams but never tried it. Big regret as I’ve gotten more into that type of genre.
Love my Wii u

I definitely appreciate that feature for Ocarina on 3DS so I see where you're coming from.
Nerd up dude -- good stuff!
Nerd up, indeed!
Oh man, I haven't played Galaxies in a couple years. I should fire up the Wii emulator and play some later today.
It's a great game! Wouldn't have played it without your recommendation.
I got my Wii U still.
It's a keeper!
I only have my Wii for Gamecube Backwards compatability
Whatever gets the job done.
I have like 9 physical Wii games still. I lost and sold some.
I used to have almost 50. I'm down to about 10 - 15.
i keep all my games physical.if the console break down ill try to fix it
Hello Bro
Howdy!
Did you homebrew it?
I tried. I got the right apps running but couldn't figure out how to run any files on it and it made my discs unplayable. Ended up doing a hard reset to get the unit functioning properly again.
Hello everyone
Hello CRASHZERO
HDMI modded Wii is better than the Wii U. You need to mod either to tweak the video out which is very easy to do.
