Thank you for sharing this! We have wild elderberry in our backyard. I never knew what to do with them before, but now I can actually utilize the berries instead of just letting the birds feast on them. Unfortunately I have to wait til next year though
I was watching my elderberry bush as it was full of berries...and it suddenly died. It was surrounded by other type bushes which were fine so I assume something ate the roots. 😢
Elderberries can grow all over the continent. Maybe slight difference varieties, but if you look it up, they grow worldwide & in Canada, all over the USA.

I never thought to freeze them! This will be a life saver this coming fall!

We are in zone 5b I think they grow in 5a as well.
