Nice video. Some of my berries fall off but aren't pure black. Can I still use them? I can't find that answer so thanks.
Once dry spread them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and flash freeze. Then transfer to zip lock bags.

How do you protect them from the birds getting all of them first?
For the most part I just share with the birds because I have plenty. If I didn't have an abundance, then I would use bird netting to cover them. With bird netting, the birds would get some on the very top, but not the berries further in the plant.
Hi! We remove the ones that float? What is some are more purple than the super dark color?
I'm not sure. I don't have experience with purple. That could be variety dependent?
Do you make syrup from your berries to help during illness? I've had difficulty locating a recipe for this using fresh berries.
I make elderberry tincture. Half pint jar of berries, add 80 proof alcohol, and let soak 4-6 weeks. Shake the jar every day or couple of days. Then strain out berries after the 4-6 weeks and they say tincture will last for several years.
