Excellent video Eric, showing people how to do a little “bit of voodoo” that most are gun shy to try. I make that “special tool” with a square headed wood screw and a piece of dowel. There's a few things to check. It very easy to pinch one of the breather hoses reinstalling the gas tank. Remove and carefully reinstall. Check your fuel filter to see if it's congested. It might be starving it of fuel. Lastly, check the valves. Were they checked and adjusted at 600 to 1000 miles? If they're off, this too will cause issues. I hope my thoughts help.
I had been looking for parts for my bike that I just acquired just over a month ago from writing this. Thanks for all the info on how to maintain my 2022 tnt135
Square sockets are available and in most comprehensive sets. To hold the screw while you use a wrench to snug the nut. Also you can skip the timing mark check since you can see the cam position on this one. Just put the cam lobe opposite the rocker and you will be good to adjust. Always check what the existing clearance is before you start. IT might be fine, OR it might have closed up. Which is bad.
Really good advise. I'm not a pro at this but did my best to get some help to many owners that have this bike. Thanks for watching and stopping by. Eric
Thank you. The usual symptoms are very noisy valves, poor performance, poor gas mileage, and possible excessive oil consumption. I hope my thoughts help.
Hey Kraken...new here but im enjoying your videos. I have a stupid question...you said the tnt135 manuals are in your google dropbox to download, can you tell me how to get to those?

The motor is very small And folks will install a big bore kit to get a little more. Personally. I don't think it worth it. My advice is sell it and maybe purchase the Benelli 310S. Good luck.
First off, thank you for all your videos they are so helpful! Watching your video as a guide I just finished adjusting my valve clearances. 3 of 4 were way too tight. After I finished and buttoned it up now it’s got a loud lifter tic it didn’t have before. Is this normal?
Thank you for the kind reply. The very design of these valves are super noisy, mostly becuase of the tin cup that houses them resonates the noise. I put in 10w 50 (thicker oil) and it quieted them down a little. Were they that noisy before the adjustment?
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures Thats the thing, there was absolutely no noise before I adjusted them. I guess the only time they are quiet is when they are too tight.
@@AG-qf1ww Ride it for a 100 miles or so and reassess. Mentally note the noise level if you can. My valves are/were noisy from day one. I hope my thoughts help you sir. Eric
Hey does the bike have to be in fifth to check the valves? I feel like an idiot because I'm trying to get it in 5th and can only get first second, then it doesn't feel like it's going beyond, is this because the bikes off?
Michael, no it doesn't. I removed the spark plugs (2) to release the engine compression. In 5th gear i can easily rotate the rear wheel in gear and get the T1 or T2 marks to line up. Good luck!
Yes and permanently Famagusta your motor. My suggestion is to get them adjusted as soon as possible. Also did you install a pipe on yours? If so many of them hard bolt (no rubber grommet) to the rear frame which cause huge vibration.
Thanks for this video. Ease of access for doing things like valve adjustments is always important. This bike doesn't seem to be too bad, especially compared to my suzuki vstrom.
Some bikes seem to have no thought put into the servicing of it. The TnT is a great platform for someone to learn how to wrench on. Thanks for watching Brian.

You can tighten fasteners with your cordless ratchet, it has the same mechanical internals as your hand ratchet, ie, you can use it as a normal ratchet. No need to switch, unless you want to do it completely probably and switch to a inch lb. Torque wrench and.secure your.fastners as the factory does. Take care, peace and love! Peace and love!
Nice video. It shows you put a lot of effort into it. Around 17:00, it says intake valves are on front and exhaust valves rear. Is that right? Seems the exhaust is on the front, which I think is pretty typical? But I don't have a benelli and could be missing something here!
Yes, I would check them for piece of mind. Adjusting the valves is something most people neglect to do. If they're off they can do irreparable damage to your engine.
I have a cut out issue on my tnt 125 could bad clearance be the cause I have had a couple of people say so but I can't find anywhere or anyone with the same issue :(
Does anyone have a link for a specialty tool for the valves? I don't have any square sockets and not comfortable with using players or a crescent wrench. Also after doing valve adjustments on my vw for the longest time I'd like to try one out haha
Excellent video! Thank you so much! Now I believe I can accomplish my first 600 mile service myself. Hey if you have thrm can you post up the torque specs for the valve lock nuts and valve cover bolts? I only have the owner's manual and none of this is listed. I kept mine at 6k for thr first 600 miles and did the first service to include the valve adjustment. After that, I have rode it wide open. It's a pretty basic motor, just don't abuse it during the first 600 miles and you're good. Good luck sir. Eric
Hello Kraken! I bought a Benelli TNT 135 this week, mainly for my wife to enjoy. I rode it before I bought it, but when I got home it feels different. When I ride at high speeds 30-50 mph, there is a weird 1-2 second vibration, almost wobble in the entire bike. Can't isolate the problem. Bike has 900 miles on it and I am not sure what services have been done on this bike. But what are some things I should be looking for when I am trying to solve the problem? Thank you in advance
Many have had this issue with their bikes. If you bought it new, take it back to the dealer. Just know they're going to try and blow you off. 99% of the time the culprit has been poor quality Cordial tires that are so bad you can hardly balance them with weights. Ask the dealer to replace the tires, due to the shaking the bike in unsafe to ride. Good luck sir and congratulations to your wife. It really is a darn good bike for the money. I own not one but two Hondas. Getting information on clearances, valves or any other, was never a problem. Neither was getting information on how to do it. Service manuals are easily available, as are parts catalogues. Just don't expect any help from the dealers if you want to do anything thats not Honda supplied. Such as changing fork springs. If you change anything in the engine or electronics, they don't know what to do with your Honda.

I had been looking for parts for my bike that I just acquired just over a month ago from writing this. Thanks for all the info on how to maintain my 2022 tnt135
Thank you for letting me know it helped you. Enjoy that new bike! Eric 🏍💨🦑
i wonder if the T2 marks were used with the 150 motors. heard they were the same lower ends.
I can't really comment on that. This is stated for the 135 service manual.
Eric
A+ thank you ! Do you have a part # for the special valve tool ?
Apologies, I'm trying to catch up on all my replies. Here's a link to what your need. I hope it helps. amzn.to/42Hyyu8

well done, Eric... as always
Thank you so much for the support Greg.
Great video !
What are some symptoms of improperly adjusted valves ?
Thank you. The usual symptoms are very noisy valves, poor performance, poor gas mileage, and possible excessive oil consumption. I hope my thoughts help.
Excuse me, will there still be a clicking sound after your valve clearance is adjusted?
Yes, the tin cup covering the valves resonates like a bell and amplifies the ticking. By design. This motor is quite loud with ticking.
what is valve the clearance on intake .008 (?)& exhaust .010(?) , it wasn't mentioned in the video
.008 - .010 is the range. Anywhere in that range, you're good.

Hello Mr kraken
I have a TNT 135 i think the bike is weak what can i do to test the bike
Good luck!
What are the gaps for intake & exaust on the 135
Good video. Great job Eric.
Very kind of you to say. Technical video tend to be very long and boring.
I have the EXACT same bike, I’m having ALOT of vibration. 900 miles. Never had valves check. Could the loose valves cause that much vibration.
Yes and permanently Famagusta your motor. My suggestion is to get them adjusted as soon as possible. Also did you install a pipe on yours? If so many of them hard bolt (no rubber grommet) to the rear frame which cause huge vibration.
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures no I didn’t. I’ll get them checked this weekend
Is it necessary to adjust the valves at first service
Chenier, it sure is. Normally they're check out okay, if they're out they can cause damage to your motor.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Superb!!! 👏 Great video, well presented and has given me the urge to do it myself👍. Thank you ever so much 🙏🙏🙏
You are mist welcome Paul and I hope it helps you out.
Is the TNT 135 valve clearance easy to adjust? My hot car is loud
Yes, if you follow my instructions on this video, it's very easy to do. Good luck!
Should you do all the valves 0.8
.8 is just fine. First check at 600 miles, again maybe once a year for every 3k miles.
Hey, how much would you charged to do this to my Benelli tnt 135 ?
1 hour labor tops at $100 US per hour. To me, a hundred dollar job.
Great video and info video set

You can tighten fasteners with your cordless ratchet, it has the same mechanical internals as your hand ratchet, ie, you can use it as a normal ratchet. No need to switch, unless you want to do it completely probably and switch to a inch lb. Torque wrench and.secure your.fastners as the factory does. Take care, peace and love! Peace and love!
Good stuff Charles and you're correct. Tha ks for watching and commenting.
Nice video. It shows you put a lot of effort into it.
Around 17:00, it says intake valves are on front and exhaust valves rear. Is that right? Seems the exhaust is on the front, which I think is pretty typical? But I don't have a benelli and could be missing something here!
Roberto, you are correct and I just knew I would make an error and was apprehensive to post it. I'll write a note in the description. Mea culpa....
Thanks a lot for the manual!
I have an updated manual ill share on thr next TnT video. Thabks for watching. Eric
What is the valve clearance on benelli bn 125?
We don't have the TnT 125 here in the US. We have the 135 and the valve clearance. is stated in the video.
Did the valve adjustment make difference to the bike sound or feel at all? I got a used TNT 125 with 2k miles, not sure to check or not .
Yes, I would check them for piece of mind. Adjusting the valves is something most people neglect to do. If they're off they can do irreparable damage to your engine.
I have a cut out issue on my tnt 125 could bad clearance be the cause I have had a couple of people say so but I can't find anywhere or anyone with the same issue :(
Ajust your valve according to this tutorial and see whether you still have the issue.
Does anyone have a link for a specialty tool for the valves? I don't have any square sockets and not comfortable with using players or a crescent wrench. Also after doing valve adjustments on my vw for the longest time I'd like to try one out haha
Jake, this one should do the trick for you, it has the large and the small for $8. Eric amzn.to/3CcgKxU
Excellent video! Thank you so much! Now I believe I can accomplish my first 600 mile service myself.
Hey if you have thrm can you post up the torque specs for the valve lock nuts and valve cover bolts? I only have the owner's manual and none of this is listed.
Also do you have a link to a service manual for the tnt 135?

- Valve lock nuts - 7 N.m
- There were no torque values in the manual for the valve cover. It has a rubber gasket, so tighten till snug evenly, then give another 1/2 turn on each bolt. Don't over tighten.

Superb job. Your dealer couldn't have done any better.
This video was redone 6 times because of bad info. I know it's super boring to watch but I feel it will help a few folks out. Thanks for the support!
How high of rpm’s did you go during the break in period? I have been staying under 6k, I have a 2022 135. People in the face book group said they go over that to 8k or 9k. Also I’m at 340 miles so far on the bike.
I kept mine at 6k for thr first 600 miles and did the first service to include the valve adjustment. After that, I have rode it wide open. It's a pretty basic motor, just don't abuse it during the first 600 miles and you're good. Good luck sir. Eric
11:51 where can I buy these bolts I broke one
I would check with my local dealer. You should be able to order parts through them. Good luck!
Let me know if I can help. Eric
😥😢😭😥😢😭😓😓Hi everyone I have had a tnt135 for 3 years now only been able to drive it for 1 of those years my bike Cuts off and backfires at between 7000-8000 rpms and then if I wait 5 seconds she starts back up and runs but only runs at lower rpms I have changed the fuel pump and filter and injector and spark plug. but it still does it.Could it be the valves?Any suggestions would be appreciated
THANKS FOR ANY HELP
My best guess is, you have a pinched beather line. Pull the gas rank off, and while do so, listen for a hissing sound.

Hi sir!
As a Benelli TRK 502 owner I must say this is a very informative channel. Thank you for that.
I am thinking buying this beauty ‘monkey’ motorcycle as my second bike, the 502 is a ‘monster’ for a daily use.
Just a question please: do you engage the bike in what gear for exhaust and intake valve clearance?
Thanks in advance.

In this video my suggestion is to set the valves to T1 and the exhaust valves .2 less. I hope this helps you Pedro!

How hard is it really to do the valves because I have a bike shop and wants to charge me almost $400 to do them just because they've never done them and they're going to use my venality of the guinea pig
To me it's very easy. I can't say how you would fair. If you're not confident then sadly you'll have to take it to the dealer. I will say $400 is outrageous for the labor.
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures yeah well it's 140 an hour plus tax and they said it would take 2 hours I'm the second owner of it I bought it with 1500 miles I didn't know I'll change and filter changed as soon as I got it just a I knew but I called the guy and he said they never did the valves so what do I just need is a feeler gauge and a torque wrench

so basically set it to T1. and adjust as per your guidance. Question: when on T1 it does not matter if any of inlet or exhaust is open or closed.
there are T1 and T2 marks in my bike (benelli tnt 150i)
xee, I'm not entirely sure on the TnT 150i as it is a totally different bike. On the TnT 135 with the T1 mark the intake valves should just barely be touching enough to get the feeler gauge to slide through. Look at the service manual that has been updated and go to Page 61 I believe. I hope this helps. www.dropbox.com/s/f1x8ka1giue9xos/TNT%20125%20E4%20Workshop%20Manual%20%281%29.pdf?dl=0

Well, good for you. The TnT 135 is subpar to the Hrom. The difference is in the price, which is a strong argument. Take it easy on busting out the clown remark. I'm happy you've found a great bike for you. Ride safe.
Your toolbox look's like it was made for your benelli.
Indeed it does! lol
And there's the argument to own a Honda. I guess the buyer has to decide if the extra money is worth the headache. You make a valid point. Thanks for commenting. Eric
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures Headache! I never said anything about headaches with Honda.
And yes, it is well worth the extra money. A Honda will outlast a benelli even if not looked after.
