Good advice all round. The only thing that I would add is to rotate the wheel to where the chain is the tightest (or least loose), and adjust it there. Otherwise there is a risk of chain over tightening, premature wear, and chain failure.
Eric, picked up a '22 135 with 375 miles! Teaching my 13 yo boy to ride. Seems to have been abused its short life. Chain was way loose, adjusted per your vid - big difference! The gear shift mounting bolt worked its way out during a ride. Linkage is loose, and I readjusted. Any gouge on how tight or loose the connectors on gear shift linkage should be? Love the channel.
Well, thank you! I bought this bike to teach folks how to do some basic wrenching that will save you a lot of money over your lifetime. Congratulations on the new bike and kudos to you for working with your son at an early age. 👏 I hope you two get to ride together when he gets his license. If you have any issues, email me at krakensgarage@gmail.com or DM me in Instagram and I'll try to help you. Eric
You can go to steady garage.com and they have a few options. Decide if you want 0-ring or non o-ring, there quite a price difference. This is the one I went with. amzn.to/3ndspmu
Very informative video of all the different ways to do this important maintenance task, i've used kerosene to clean chains for years as it's cheap & does a really good job but i find the best lubricant is 80w 90 gear oil which a lot of bike manufacturers actually recommend using. I dont want to tell you how to suck eggs but chain slack should ideally be checked to be within spec with the riders weight on the bike & not sure where youve got the torque specs from but here in the UK the axle bolt is 60nm & chain adjuster locknut is 20nm
Thanks so much for the tips. I got the torque settings from the service manual. Truth be told, chain saw bar oil will do fine for a chain lube as well. This method had worked for me for years, probably isn't the best but thought I would share my thoughts. I'm certainly open to any constructive criticism and welcome. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks! Thanks for watching!
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures Theres been quite a few failures of the input shaft bearing here in the UK which i suspect could be down to an over tight chain so best to double check its still got a bit of play when your sat on the bike to allow for rider weight & suspension travel
Eric...love your insight about the Benelli Rice Burner. Where did you get that lift for jacking up the bike ? Not the red bike lift, that little silver one ?
Revzilla, it's kind of pricey but I have gone the Harbor Freight route and they failed almost dumping my bike so I sprung for a well respected one. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/drag-specialties-center-jack-scissor-lift-stand
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures Thanks for the info Eric. I always have a problem jacking up my 1961 Cushman and a 1992 YSR 50 with other low profile jacks.
I'm sorry, I do not but I do have a how to clean and adjust your chain tension. Replacement is easy, just release the bolts on the rear wheel, push it forward enough to slip the chain off the sprocket and you're good to go. Eric ua-cam.com/video/WikgBChsLOk/v-deo.html
Jay, I'm not sure how many links ar in the OEM chain. I would ask the question on the Benelli TnT forum on Facebook. facebook.com/groups/officialbenelligroup/?multi_permalinks=4812754198755729%2C4808943062470176%2C4802916309739518%2C4796104340420715%2C4794651910565958¬if_id=1632836920460461¬if_t=group_activity&ref=notif
Hi Andrew, I just shot a video on this ua-cam.com/video/S7PuCMACUzI/v-deo.html Here's a link to the bars I installed and you should be able to get the dimensions of the bar in the description on Amazon. I hope this helps. Eric
Any advice on air filter? Bought mine used, and it struggles to show 50-60mph (without the speedometer correction) My bike had after market exhaust and I was told if I get new air filter I run risks of running to lean, or not enough and would need a power commander. Any advice? First timer here! Lol
Is your bike a 125 or 135? Something doesn't sound right to me? My advice would be to put the air cleaner back to stock. It is my belief that it's more waterproof than an aftermarket filter. I would join the two main facebook TnT forums and ask this question as well. You'll get quite a few more replies. Also, of you decide to go back to a stock filter I would ask others on those forums for their used one. Many have upgraded and may have one sitting on the shelf and sell it for cheap. Now addressing the "too lean" issue, just adding a pipe and nothing else shouldn't make the bike run too lean. My fb is listed in the description of this video, hit me up with your questions and we can chat about them easier. I'll try my best to help you out.
Thanks sir

Ducati mini fun bike. Sexy exhaust + water pipe frame. Better choice ! 😀😆🤣
It's a great bike for the money!

Can you shoe me how you measure chain slack
Take a tape measure and measure from the floor while moving the slack in the chain up and down. Very easy task.
I purchased an RK428 chain I hope that will fit 120 lengths but what are the links on the original chain

Can't believe all that kerosene is good for the tires....
It's fine just wipe it off quickly. Don't let it set overnight. Thanks for watching.
