I agree. I’m full time and drivers need to push back and not take trash orders. At this rate we won’t have enough cash for our next car because there’s no cash left after bills and using our cars for work

You made $12/hr, AND your tips were 40% more than your base pay. So without tips, you'd have made less than minimum wage. Don't waste time delivering for such a company.
I was top dasher 4 times. In october i reached 87% AR. No difference cause i kept getting bad orders. And today i reached 45%🤬 just cause all the new drivers with 2 accounts keep getting the good ones. Ive been Doing this full time for 2 yrs but now im doing better on Instacart. I ended my dash before it keeps going lower😐

I’ve done this before. When you’re below 70% it’s slow and you see crappy offers. When you’re above 70% you will see MORE of the crappy offers. So, in theory, you are getting priority. The problem is that there are too many dashers (needed to deliver bad orders), people are cutting the Doordash expenses because of the economy and the people who do still order are farther away because of the distance. The closer customers are probably opting to pick up their own food. 💁♂️

1:57 that concept of tipping after deliveries, is something that has been going on in my area for a few months now. Also, I’m a top Dasher and the orders are very good(in my area), I’m just glad of my priority status because it’s much easier to stay as a top Dasher than it is to become one.
Just do hourly to bring it up. I know you don't like it, but when raising the acceptance rate, it's just so much less stressful. I'm in Central NJ, though. Hope it turns around for you.
I have received a handfull of tips added after delivery. All from customers that tipped prior to delivery as well. I bet it is just a matter of time before they roll out nation wide customers only allowed to tip after delivery. The app will die when that happens.
Id been trying to get up to 70% AR. Got myself from 50% to 67% only working part time over 3 weeks. Scheduled myself to work Xmas Eve thinking it should be good. I made it all the way back down to 58% because all the orders were so bad. Multiple 12+ miles orders for $4 or less. Uber has been killing it in comparison to DD recently.

That is why everyone in non regulated markets are getting screwed. The apps have to get the money from somewhere to pay the guarantees to drivers in places like Cali or New York City
Doordash started popping off when I got top dasher. Literally the orders were so good every time I'm at 83% now, lol. I also wasn't getting orders it felt slow every day and I got really annoyed just sitting in my car doing nothing so I decided to try getting 70% and it's been working to say the least. But this isn't to say it will stick around because I've been top dasher multiple times before and it didn't change shit so maybe just a lucky streak right now.
Enjoy it because they're going to deflect your numbers by sending you trash orders, I was at 85% then all of a sudden I started getting upside down orders, I got an order for 10 deliveries going 29.5 miles for 30$ I declined and my AR went down 10%.
If I am not mistaken, that tip after the fact that you had just delivered the order or if it happened up to 30 minutes after that particular order, is not part of the possible things to come from what is happening in NYC. I have gotten this probably about 5 times during the whole year of 2023 of dashing. The customer was really pleased with me or my service, and gave another or additional tip! The most recent one for me was yesterday from a grocery shopping order. They have a "ring" doorbell, it caught me coming up to the customers door, I said thank you for your order, Merry Christmas and hope you have a safe holiday. I mentioned that I double baged their frozen foods all together and then put in a paper bag. The customer gave me an additional $10.00 tip and it had the same tag line - "Dasher A customer added $10.00 top on a past order from Tom Thumb order. Keep up the great work! I am in the Dallas Fort Worth markets.
I've gotten tips after delivering several times in the St.Louis market. I've only been dashing for a few months, I don't take every order but twice per shift I eat a shit sandwich LoL that seems to keep better paying orders coming and not so many bad ones
What I noticed is that when I dash on every other day, I see good orders. I feel DoorDash will start to give you shit orders when you been dashing to much and making good money, I had shit orders on Wednesday like all day but came back on Saturday and did like 200 in less than 8 hours…
I have seen the customer has added an additional tip onto your order. But the orders have already been pretty decent. One was a steakhouse order that was already $22 dollars and the guy added another $5 on after I dropped it off. Another time it was $5 for 7 miles and got stacked anyways but the customer told me he felt bad as he didn't realize how far away the place was so he added on another $5 bucks.
I ordered Doordash last night and was able to add a tip at the time of dropoff, which I did because the Dasher was fast and it was Christmas Eve. Not sure if you can add a tip after the order is completed.
DoorDash should try doing the $1/mile ratio and that’s what they should pay the dashers. Honestly what makes the money is only the tips. That why I got a second job. DoorDash doesn’t see the value in their drivers. That’s why I quit dashing lol.
I used to swear by top dasher in my market. nope. my AR is now 51% on DD and 17% on UE. I just sit in my favorite hot spot and play on my nintendo switch until an order im willing to take pops up.
When trying to raise acceptance rate, it probably makes more sense to do earn by time. Your getting bad orders regardless but at least the base pay is higher on EBT. I've seen the tip after delivery feature about 6 months ago for the first time (also a dasher in UT)
It's not really a mystery...it's inflation. I don't know why many dashers are questioning the slow down. Getting food ordered is not a necessity, it's a luxury, so when people are paying more for everything, they will cut out extras...like food delivery...and ESPECIALLY because of how high it cost to HAVE it delivered. There may be some various other reasons like oversaturation, but the main issue is inflation.

You have to understand when you are down the scheduling it is so hard and then the things that they have available do you want to waste the time and gas to go another 30 to 40 me just to get a couple of dashes I did that Dash along the way.
Doordash is very Dominant in my market! I have Uber Eats too but Like i said Doordash is always popping in my area. I went from 85% AR to 75% over the last 2 weeks. Which is ok with me because I still get good orders 7/10 orders. But man them 3 orders I usually dont accept are brutal!
Something have changed in mid November. I deliver orders that are paying 2.50 and up per mile. Despite cherry picking I was able to get mini catering and decent pizza runs before. Not anymore. Just bottom of the barrel crap. And that crap is coming literally non-stop. For example. Saturday before Christmas eve. Seven hours 193 on Uber Eats and 11 on DD. Christmas eve Sunday 5 hours 147 UE and 0 DD. Today Christmas day 4 hours 134 UE and 0 DD. DD doesn't care about drivers. They need obedient slaves delivering their $2 orders. Just imagine how many new drivers trying to catch that carrot on the stick - top dasher....
All I see on uber in my area is 3 to 5 dollar orders and stuff that is 50 cents per mile. Im lucky if I get one good order in an entire day. DD is way better
What's the red area is lit up and is not in your zone or your area if you tap on that and it says Dash along the way you will receive orders in your area I had to do that so I can get my my status back up to platinum I had a 95 they put me down to the gold then the next day I looked I was at 88. Now I completed my last Dash back to platinum and I can Dash anytime now
Yeah, I get several extra tips a week. Just do your job and simple communication. Not too much. Just a simple I'm waiting on your order. Or a "At your door 🚪. Enjoy!!!". This will increase your tips.
Completion rate 95%. 95 out of a 100 orders offered. Dash anytime... and more offers when things are slow.... So they say...... You still want to fill a scheduled spot while driving if one is open, to eliminate that open spot.😉👍
Uber eats mate, orders ping like crazy, don't have to drive to a zone, and they give you a 360 dollar bonus for completing your first 50 deliveries by the 17th of January.
Inflation affects everyone. People fail to realize that. These gig jobs were not designed to be full time jobs yet people got used to the full time pay.

How do yall know the customer isnt tipping? Doordash has a history of stealing tips and no one is overseeing them. They could very well still be stealing tips. Reality is there is no better way of receiving tips than simply straight from the customer. Every app can rip drivers off when tips are funnel thru them instead of directly from customer to driver.
Acceptance rate go down if you don't accept the orders that goes down even though that you have all the other qualifications become a top Dasher in 30 30 days and the 30 days doesn't start from the first to the first your 30 day start when you get to 100 deliveries and they start Counting no matter what day it is once you hit the 100 deliveries they restarted on that day so my 100 delivery starts today on the 6th so I must keep a 100 deliveries in the next 30 days
I get several tips after I deliver the order and they're nice enough to go ahead and add another tip to it let's sneaky doordash I said that was the tip before I said not after 10 minutes later after I delivered it already doordash is added to the order already that's why I take all screenshots

You have two ratings... Completion rating and then customer satisfaction rating.... Customer rating at 85% means more money.... And they use the completiong rating to determine when to take you off the platform. But customer rating prings higher paying jobs.
Cherry picking forces doordash to increase base pay, and all the drivers in that area make more. Running a no tip order for AR is a bad idea, and ruins the market.

Multi app it. Ignore bad orders and grab the first decent one on whatever app has it. Pause the others. Rinse and repeat.

I’m a top dasher and most days are bad. I turn on and I get my first offer 20-30 minutes in. 20.00 per hour rare nowadays even as a top dasher.

If you're taking every order, you should be doing EBT. It probably pays just a little better, especially on those $2 no tip orders.

@@russbilderback I agree but is more of less a part time than a full time due the flexibility it has. It is mix of both worlds. It should be the design structure for all jobs to keep people from being overworked, overwhelmed and unappreciated.
How do yall know the customer isnt tipping? Doordash has a history of stealing tips and no one is overseeing them. They could very well still be stealing tips. Reality is there is no better way of receiving tips than simply straight from the customer. Every app can rip drivers off when tips are funnel thru them instead of directly from customer to driver.
This is why I only DD during peak pay hours cause
I'm top dasher. The apps show different screens for Drivers. Mine is always busy. Same areas weren't busy for my friend. Its dumb

Acceptance rate go down if you don't accept the orders that goes down even though that you have all the other qualifications become a top Dasher in 30 30 days and the 30 days doesn't start from the first to the first your 30 day start when you get to 100 deliveries and they start Counting no matter what day it is once you hit the 100 deliveries they restarted on that day so my 100 delivery starts today on the 6th so I must keep a 100 deliveries in the next 30 days

I get several tips after I deliver the order and they're nice enough to go ahead and add another tip to it let's sneaky doordash I said that was the tip before I said not after 10 minutes later after I delivered it already doordash is added to the order already that's why I take all screenshots

Shipt Shoppers get tipped very well. They get paid more per delivery also. For dashers to be given less tips, it’s because of past actions of poor dashers creating all dashers being stereotyped. WE HAVE TO CHANGE THAT. …and if ALL DASHERS take the C•Y•A approach, just MAYBE eventually the liars that say they didn’t receive their order will stay off the app because they know their con is over.

You have two ratings... Completion rating and then customer satisfaction rating.... Customer rating at 85% means more money.... And they use the completiong rating to determine when to take you off the platform. But customer rating prings higher paying jobs.

Cherry picking forces doordash to increase base pay, and all the drivers in that area make more. Running a no tip order for AR is a bad idea, and ruins the market.
