- In this video I explain the two messages that I always send to customers on Hand To Customer orders. I’ve found that these messages are an excellent deterrent against a customer who is wanting to steal the order and cause you to get a contract violation.
My video on contract violations from a few months back: • DoorDash Contract Viol...
Anything to back you up. I don’t do any of that. If a customer wants to lie, then whatever. If I deliver to the same home over and over, sometimes I just put hand it to me. It shows trust with those customers. You are doing the right thing.
My advice? If the order is a hand-to-me order, hand it to the customer. Don't take a photograph. If the order is a leave-at-door order, take a photograph. If the order is a leave-at-door order but the customer instead asks you to hand it to them, still take a photograph. Don't include the customer in the photograph, however.
I've completed over 4.2K DoorDash deliveries. I've followed these rules with great success.
If I have a leave-at-door order *but* the customer meets me at the door, I still take a photograph of the order with pertinent identifying information (e.g. apartment or house number, etc.) My customers don't seem to object. I then hand them their food after I've snapped the picture.
For contract violation purposes, I think the most dangerous order is a leave-at-door order where the customer meets you at the door and you fail to upload a photograph that proves delivery to DoorDash.
That is the best practice, and most customers seem understanding about it
when i hand the order to customer i tell them to hold out the order and i take a picture of their hand. i do not take cash orders. i have never gotten a contract violation
That’s a very nice way to talk to the customers. I’m gonna try that and see if it works. Maybe I just normally tell him I’m on my way and I’ll respond and say OK thank you but you’re greeting is actually good.
I usually make them hold the order and take a photo of them holding it.
lol no . My lord
Me too and I’ve been dashing for 3 years, and never one complaint in regards to the customer holding and I’m taking their photo with their food/merchandise.
I just got a contract violation on a hand to me where the customer reported non delivery. Weird timing for this video. It was a leave at door but he came out and got it and boom a CR for me. I need to take better steps to protect myself from this. I get complacent and forget there are scumbags everywhere. Thanks for the video.
I’ve had 2 CVs in one day before and I’ve heard the system can deactivate you for 3 at a time. It’s a scary thought
@@50SomethingDasher i filed a dispute and it was removed luckily I had my photos! I will not be going to that address again!
DoorDash support can block accounts from hitting your phone as well. That way you don’t have to remember the address and take hits on AR.
I blocked my first thief and also a compressed air addict. He would order tomatoes and then I would get to the store and he would try to change the order to the cans of air.
@@MobyShamu
That’s what I do I take my own picture for proof, if someone does not tip, not safe, or not good order I blacklist their address for good👍🏼
Yes, I take the picture of the order when I drop it and a screenshot on my phone like you said for a contract violation of this or if they said that they didn’t receive the order the proof is on my phone on all orders that I do every last one so that’s good
Sometimes taking a pic can be awkward so I’ve mastered the art of incognito videoing the customer confirming their name and taking the order. I’ve had 4 not delivered contact violations and won my appeal on all
Can you elaborate please, I want to know how to do it. Tnx
Yeah, when it says hand to me and they dont answer there phone on arrival nor come to the door, I like to take a pic and send it to there msg in there phone along with leaving a VM too. They will give me a bad rating because there plans to steal didnt work!
A woman just did that to me yesterday. I called and sent messages got no answer. I clicked can't hand it to costumer and waited and once i dropped off the order and took a picture, that woman came and took the order. Lol
I always take 3 to 4 pics and always one of their mailbox with the number and house in back ground
I try to get house number and whatever bag(s) I used, even if I have to stand on the street 👍🏻
All you explained can be solved with a body cam. document everything! Transparency is key!!!
I screen shot every hand to me order. I also screen shot those orders where it's a hand to me/ but the instructions say leave at my door
Great video, content and information that have value for the viewers. Keep these videos coming.
Thank you so much, appreciate you!
First time watching your channel and loved it I also subscribe❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Welcome!
I take a picture of every address plate. That’s a hand to me after I deliver it just in case they ever say anything I’ll have to show.
If it's leave at door and the customer opens the door and I hand it to him, I still take a picture of their address on their house or a picture of their house that proves that I was at least there at the house.
Good measure to take 👍🏻
If its a Hand to me and they come out, I still take a photo. I just tell them its required by Door Dash. I don't communicate via text I love using memes customers getting a kick out of them.
Most all customers Ive dealt with always seem cool about letting me take a picture
ALWAYS take a picture of a “leave at door” order!
I inform the customer that I need to take a picture for Door Dash then take the photo of them holding the bag.
If they meet you, ask them first for the name on the order.
If the delivery has even a hint of being sus, I’ll include an additional photo in the Dasher/customer chat text with the time stamp, location physical address, and GPS coordinates in the text
Always take a time stamp photo
Thanks for sharing 😊👍🏻
But sometimes when we move on a house or two, the customer will not come out and take up the order and that annoys me so much
Hand it to me customers are the way drivers get CV. I take a picture with my phone camera, I let them know it's to document the delivery was made. If the customer complains I still take a picture before letting them take the food. It's sus if they complain to a pic. It's those types who are trying to set up drivers and get free food, so I could care less if they don't want a picture taken. Usually non tippers anyway 😁
If I were you I'd wear a body cam like the Police use so it shows you walking up to the door and any interaction between you and the customer. Invest in a body cam they're cheap. I would also put that in the message. I'm turning on my body cam as I leave my car and walk up to your house for your safety.
Thanks for the suggestion! Looking at price ranges on Amazon now. There’s also dog attacks and a million other things that can happen on a delivery so I probably will invest in one
I just got a violation today but don't know which delivery it is from. I wish they would have us take a picture at all deliveries and I wish we had a picture of who we are supposed to deliver it to. I had a person say I gave the large delivery at a high school to the wrong person even though she gave me the name on the delivery before I gave it to her.
Support stopped giving out information on CVs and low ratings, making matters worse. I’ve said before, if you don’t even know what the issue is, how are you supposed to improve?
You can always take a photo or attach a photo in the customer chat.
Customers never complain about too much delivery documentation or communication.
Actually, you should go to that extreme if you receive even one CV for not delivered.
Take pictures and or a video from a distance of them physically picking up the order that you dropped off.
Or don’t knock or ring bell for a leave at door. Complete the order in the app and walk away.
Before you leave the area, use your video camera to document customer pickup.
If the customer picks up the order that means they received notification through the app.
Nobody randomly opens up their front door for an “unannounced” food delivery then claim they didn’t receive.
Photo or video proof = NO CV.
Every CV I've gotten has been a lying miserable piece of trash human being and none of them have stuck. DD has just about eliminated CVs in my market atleast. You're gonna have to violate the TOS to get deactivated in majority of cases. DD is done playing games with these worthless human beings that lie about not getting that properly delivered order. Stay safe and happy dashing
RIP CVs 😁👍🏻
😊
Hey Joe. I noticed that you are wearing the DoorDash hat and shirt while working. Can you please explain your reasons why?
Hi, and thanks for the question. I primarily do it because it gives me an advantage at the restaurants when picking up orders. The customers really don't care, lol. I explain in more detail in the following video, one of the first videos uploaded on this channel: ua-cam.com/video/vWnSkp4qxAw/v-deo.html
@@50SomethingDasher It's very interesting that pretty much all of the reasons why you wear the DoorDash gear is EXACTLY why I do the same. I've only been dashing for three months and I've had the shirt for two of them. I'm the only one in town who wears it and I get laughed at by other Dashers for wearing it but I'm laughing all the way to the BANK. Those guys look like unprofessional slouches and wonder why they never get tipped hahahaha...
@@911BrosTrav Dashers in my market pretty much don’t care. Only maybe 3 have spoke to me in a year and a half. I could wear a 3 piece suit on dashes and the other dashers here wouldn’t see me or think anything of it
when i hand the order to customer i tell them to hold out the order and i take a picture of their hand. i do not take cash orders. i have never gotten a contract violation
Why wouldn't doordash have a simple function on the driver and customers and app for hand it to me deliveries that would confirm the customer recieved it. You know how many merchants tell us to hit confirm in front of them??? Sure you do. Same thing. Driver presses confirm, customer presses confirm after hand off, doordash gets notified, driver gets notified and customer gets notified. Takes one second. Final. No more bullshit. If the customer doesnt have their phone available then the default is the drivers confirmation but the order is still considered final! Taking a photo makes sense but its not part of the app function on hand it to me. Why??? No good explanation. But ive had 2 violations on hand it to me, where i took a photo outside the app and sent it to doordash but they dont care. Its not binding. Doordash is a really shitty company that really hasn't done much to improve operations or protect drivers. Not at all.
I’ve heard Uber uses a 4 digit pin that the customer has to provide to the driver. That’s what I think they should do
@@50SomethingDasher I'm always looking for a fast effective efficient solution to problems. Doorass doesn't unfortunately. I like the pin code idea but it's bulky cumbersome and people forget numbers etc. Just a confirmation button on both apps. Hand order to customer, customer confirms on their phone, we confirm then all parties are notified we move on happy, drama free. Or a photo function for proof. Or this pin code. But we shouldn't be talking about these same stupid problems for 10 years with doorass. Do better doorass or let me run your company operations. I'll fix alot of shit! Like a scanner at restaurants and unique barcodes issued for each offer that would be scanned at the restaurant to verify correct driver, correct order, any miscellaneous items and confirm the pickup all in a 1 second scan. Eliminates all that drama and bullshit too.
I video record EVERY drop off and send a photo to the customer... If they are there, I say "They make me do a photo..." set the order on the ground and set the camera to wide angle. If it says "Hand it to me" and they (through text, call or intercom) say "just leave it at the door", I will wait across the street and get video of them picking up the order.
How are you guys submitting videos on CV disputes? DoorDash barely allows you to type 20 words in the dispute form, yet people are submitting videos!???
@50SomethingDasher I've submitted to Grubhub. I always call support on DD. It's rare when a customer f**ks with me. I'm just over 31,000 deliveries and have only had 4 or 5 customers claim they didn't receive the order. Once I went to customer's place the next day... Had support on speaker phone... problem solved. DD knows I'm the best driver they have.
Door dash should have customer sign that they received their food. Just like for NAPA orders.
Problem with that is anyone can just scribble anything. I’ve had NAPA customers make me do the signature because they didn’t want to touch my phone
I dash in a decent suburb city! theres only one big phat black lady that requires a pin on DD in the whole entire city! When I go there i say, wow I have never seen this before and she says yeah its a new thing that doordash is doing and I said yeah maybe Doordash is copying uber eats!!! I also told her Ive done over 2500 deliveries on DD in the past 6 months and have never seen this in this city!
Wow, a picture of both hands that’s a little much man that’s very intrusive and that would be very uncomfortable. If I was paying for food I would not want somebody demanding they get a picture of me grabbing it like I’m the one paying for the service. how dare you treat me like a thief?
Put yourself in other people's shoes it's not that hard
How dare you tell people how they should protect themselves from a thief . You are taking this personal hmmm are you one ?
