      Ahron C hi there. That’s correct. It doesn’t. The bone conduction we experience when speaking, along with the sympathetic vibration we feel in our tissues, muscles etc makes us hear ourselves inside in a unique way. The best representation of your true sound is when you record it and listen to your voice back. That is how our audience hears us and perceives us. So the only way to change our voice is to first hear it back as others hear it. Then make adjustments from there.

    Number 1: Record your voice and listen to it and note what characteristics your voice has that you don't want like its airy its nasal its squeaky Note it all down and also ask it with your friends and colleagues.
    Number 2: Try the opposite that you noted in step one for e.g if you found out nasal tone then try the opposite speak more from the mouth and so on try opposite listen observe try opposite and repeat the cycle until you get the desired voice. Experiment, Observe and Learn.
    Number 3: Air Flow is very important for aesthetic and pleasing sounding voice. Try to have balanced airflow and with practice anybody can achieve this.
    Thanks Elisa!
    Good Luck Everyone!

    My dad works in Spanish Radio. It is not a good idea to make any drastic 'forced' changes to your voice - you want your voice to be as naturally 'you' as possible. A much better idea is to familiarise yourself with it, practice speaking clearly and flowingly and to 'release' the voice with no blocks. Being calm and being good to oneself is much more effective than 'forcedly' changing voice which can also cause stress therefore ironically making voice worse.

    • @TheVoiceofConfidence
      @TheVoiceofConfidence  3 роки тому +7

      HI Mars - Voice training is not about drastic or forced anything. Just like you can improve your mind with focused learning, or improve your body with a personal trainer - you can improve many aspects of your life without force or tension. I have been on stage and on camera for more than 35 years as a professional singer, actor, VO artist and speaker. I also have a Masters degree in voice, so all my students get quality training from a qualified professional. Since you have never had training with me, I don't expect you to fully understand everything I teach. Nothing I teach can possibly make your voice worse. It's a shame that you have had that experience or seen it with others. As a voice and presentation coach I only teach safe speaking and sound-making that ensures a resonant, rich and full speaking sound with freedom from tension which always gives you the BEST sound possible for YOU! If you don't study, practice and implement anything you are learning.... of course no changes can take place. Thank you for sharing. Elisa x

      The other problems I have is taking too many breaths, along with struggles of finding a solid balance between too much and too little annunciation. And whistly-sounding consonants (especially with s & z)

    thanks for your video. I've developed a problem, that when I talk
    I think all the time about which pitches to use… it starts to wear me out, and it makes me anxious. it's a serious problem right now. when I'm with a friend I can't talk relaxed anymore because I think about my talking, my voice. how it sounds...how do i get out of here...it made me so very anxious...alone with family makes me feel relaxed and i don't have to think about the pitches of my voice like that...please how can you help me get rid of this?

    What if you are hard-of-hearing? I'm born with permanent hearing loss and due to this, I have a soft, deep, and breathy type of voice. I can't hear my voice unless I'm wearing my hearing aids and record my voice to play it back to me. I hate talking because of my voice, but I always want to improve on it. Any tips?

    • @TheVoiceofConfidence
      @TheVoiceofConfidence  3 роки тому

      HI There - I have worked with some hearing-impaired students and I found that when they wear their hearing aides, they become lower in volume and more airflow is consumed during speaking. This leads to a soft and low sound... try turning them WAY down and using a decibel metre to bring UP the volume when you are speaking. That clarity and volume will improve the quality of your sound.

    • @FlareJollyDragoness
      @FlareJollyDragoness 3 роки тому

      @@TheVoiceofConfidence I have to keep the volume a little high because I can't hear my voice if it's too low. I can show you what I mean if I could somehow record my voice and send it to you for feedback. Be warned though: It's super quiet when I'm not wearing my hearing aids.
      Thank you for responding!

      Baluram virat Jogalsar listening skills are so important because we become better speakers when we listen with a new ear. The best way to learn is play back one sentence at a time and repeat it back as clearly as possible. Keep doing this slowly and accurately and both speaking and listening will improve!
