Another informative, creative and fun video Jai!
Boy, am I glad I found this channel! Even if I wasn’t making concrete jars, I would come here for the entertainment 😂
Awww... Thanks. Glad you found the channel.
Great vid Jai.
Thanks Thomas
Such a great teacher!!!!!!!! Very funny! Thank you very much!
Thank you!
Wow! This is my first ever comment on a UA-cam video. You are so helpful! I just started using silicone molds to make resin jewelry. I have tried to watch many videos and I just get so annoyed. Your video is so great that I just had to comment. Thank you!
Well that is awesome. I am glad to know I am the first. Thank you for your lovely comment. I truly appreciate that.
Thank you! Really helpful!
You are very welcome!
Thanks alot.
My god you're funny---love your vids ❤
I’ve watched this tutorial a number of times & always learn something new every time 😊
I am experiencing an issue where the items I cast (I just Jesmonite & Jesmonite alternative acrylic resins - similar stuff to plaster of Paris) when I go to either seal or wax polish them, they appear to have smear marks on them & not matter how well I wash my moulds I’m thinking that they have been contaminated with something (maybe something I’ve used in past to wipe clean) so these marks will always appear…is there anything you can do to condition a mould or any other solution that can be used other than what you went over in your video, that may assist? It’s as though there’s some kind of film on those areas so the sealer or wax polish is repelled from those areas (if that makes sense) Shame I can’t send a pic so you can exactly what I’m talking about.
Go to the about section on my UA-cam home page and you can find my email address there. Then send me a pic via email. Let's see if we can solve your issue.
@@upvibecandle oh excellent - thank you so much..will do so 😊
Another great video, Jai! I wondered if you had another video on keeping other supplies clean - mixing bowl, pourer etc or perhaps its not necessary? I'm just about to get started with concrete and i'm getting all my ducks in a row!
Thank you! I do have a video on that but that video is a part of a deeper online course that I created for those who want to cut their learning in half. That course isn't out yet but should be out soon.
Will this work for the silicone bowls? Mine is full of dried concrete even after cracking it and bending it
If you have concrete stuck on your silicone bowls you will need to spend time removing it. Try not to let it dry as it becomes harder to clean.
Hello, how are you? Congratulations here from Brazil. Taking care of the mold as you guide lines in 20 years, of course metaphorically. In practice, how many cups can you make with the same mold? Congratulations on the channel...
Thank you. It all depends on what silicone mold you have but if you take care of it you can have it demold for a very long time. One silicone mold company told me about 500 plus. Hope that helps...
@@upvibecandle thanks
Questionnn! How do I prevent paint from sticking to my silicone mold? Any tips?
You can try a small amount of petroleum jelly.
@@upvibecandle and just rub it into the mold correct?
@@Wondrouslybotanic yes but very very little. Almost non existent.
Great
What can you do if you dulled your silicone molds? Is there a way to restore them?
Depending on what kind of silicone mold you have you might be able to add more silicone to that mold which will rejuvenate it. Flat molds work best for that technique. A concrete candle jar silicone mold you can't do that with.
@@upvibecandle yes. It’s a jar silicone mold 😩
@@Wondrouslybotanic unfortunately that would be tough to make shiny again.
Do you have a brand of lint-free towels you like to use?
Yes. I like these here. amzn.to/3HYyBZL
Hey Jai, I've recently done a pour in one of my molds and when demolding it after 24 hours, the item was really tough to demold and left me a cement stain in my mold. My question is, has this ever happened to you and will the trick with alcohol work? If not, do you have any other solution to remove the stain as it looks like if I used it for my next project, the stain will reproduce on the next pour and make the project come out bad. Thanks in advance for any help!
I would soak the mold in warm soapy water for 30 minutes and scrub gently with a soft brush or sponge. If the stain persists, try using a vinegar solution by rubbing the stained areas with a cloth or sponge soaked in equal parts white vinegar and water. Alternatively, create a paste with baking soda and water, apply it to the stains, let it sit for 15 minutes, and scrub gently. If stain remains then try rubbing alcohol but don't saturate it as alcohol can damage it.
@@upvibecandle I'll try these out and let you know what happens 👍thanks again for your help!
Let me know ,it works with you?
Hey @@Daall-kw7hm, unfortunately I tried various methods but was not able to remove the stains from the cement. Not sure if the quality of the silicone is very poor and not able to withstand the corrosive nature of the curing cement. I recently moved and have not unpacked the mold yet and continued to work on finding a solution. If you come by any solution, let me know.
I'll take three ShamWow's, please.
im not creating stuff with it
