I know these are old resin vids but theyre still incredibly helpful! Ive learned so much about this art from you and have started doing my own resin pours. Thank you so much for your expertise~
I'm another newbie to the resin world. I've been watching your videos for a while so I can be better prepared when I start, and for the wonderful ideas you've shared too. Just got some silicone molds and measuring cups to start off with, waiting on better ventilation now. I knew that having cats, I would need to keep the molds stored where fur doesn't get on them. I had no idea beyond that on proper storage and care. So this video was extremely helpful. And I'm sure the baggies will prevent fur getting to them even better than the plastic storage box I'd put them in. Thanks so much for all that you share! I really enjoy watching your videos. :)
Thanks for the tips and for being yourself!! I think a lot of us talk gibberish to ourselves (and to our spouses if you’re married long enough!!) - we could start a club haha!! I’ve learned a lot of things I didn’t know by watching your videos, thank you for making them!! 😀 much appreciation!!
The packing tape trick? OMG!!! I immediately got packing tape down and tried it on a mold I used last night and couldn't get stuff out of the cracks and crevices. It had mica powder in it that I couldn't get out all the way and I just pushed the packing tape in with the blunt end of a wooden skewer. Thanks so much!!
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HACK ABOUT USING TAPE TO CLEAN MOLDS!!! Molds I was going to have to buy again are like new. THANK YOU AGAIN YOU ARE MY RESIN DUDE FOREVER..
Hi, Just want you to know,, I am now cleaning all my molds! Lol I have quite a few but not used all of them as yet. I’m a newbie! I really am thankful for this info. I enjoy your tutorials. I laugh n learn! God bless.
Absolutely loved the bloopers. It is good to see that all of us can have those days when nothing seems to go right. It is a good reminder that we are all just human .........quirks and all. Keep doing what your doing,, we love it.
Thank you so much for creating this video. It is extremely informative, it addresses so many different things such as explaining the damages on your moulds and how not to get them. You were easy to listen to, imagine grateful you didn't put music in the background 😂 because sometimes it's to hard hear everything that the person is saying. So far this video is the most informative and helpful video on cleaning moulds so far with resin. The bloopers were awesome as well haha 😂
This was really useful as I was only thinking yesterday I needed to know the best way to clean the moulds! And your bloopers remind me I am not the only one who can’t get through a video without severe editing. I quite often come across a part where I am talking complete rubbish to myself when something hasn’t worked as it should!!! Thank goodness for editing software!!! 😃🤣🤗
The tape and baby wipes - genius! I cast pet and horse hair, that tape trick works like a charm! Before I was always washing molds & that takes away the shine. I do store molds in ziplock bags but never used a mold release however I will take your advice & purchase some. Thank you so much, you rock the resin world!
I love your videos and I love you so much. You are so engaging and watching/listening to you always makes me smile. Keep the bloopers coming! I love all your resin work xx
I've only watched a few of your videos so far but I absolutely love you already 😄💕the bloopers at the end just brightened up my day🥰you have a new subscriber here👏👋
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the bloopers. I needed a good chuckle. I just started using silicone molds again. I was using a rigid plastic for years but wanted to work with silicone molds again. I'll be using them for clays and plaster mostly. Occasionally resins. This was a very helpful video. Thanks.
Thank you for your helpful video and info but I’ve got to say I think the bloopers were my favorite part 😂 and if anyone says they don’t do at least 437 of the various things you did in the bloopers, they’re lying.
Brand new to resin mold been playing for a while Thank you so much for this video I got some that have to go in the freezer so we can get the bigger goopy stuff out but I think I'll be able to save all my molds wish me luck!
Thank you for sharing your hints. I am just starting to get into resin mold creations. Hopefully I will be able to reduce the pitfalls after watching these. :) x
I just ordered my resin kit so I hope they turn out once I learn it. I liked your videos over the other because you cover so much. Ps love the bloopers😁
This is incredibly helpful! I just started yesterday so I'm fresh out the gate. Looks like I have some things to buy! Thank you very much. You remind me of my friend group at the day centre I used to go to. I was in my late 20s and all my best friends were 40+. The ones over 60 used to buy me chocolate :D once this really old guy, Brian, he brought me in a colouring book and some pens 🥺 I was so happy! But yeah, they were my family. So warm and caring and always protective of me 💗 I miss them very much. I have Autism and they were so patient and understanding 💗💎💗 You definitely seem like the kind of guy I could be friends with ☺ sorry for the ramble lol. Thank you very much again and I hope you have a wonderful day!!! Xxx
Thank you for this info re the moulds I really will sort mine out today thank you especially for the bloopers that made me laugh on a very cold early morning here in the UK love your videos thank you xx
Oh my goodness! You are awesome! Pobody's Nerfect! Thank you! I share your videos with someone who is beginning and your videos are huge help! I've been at this a while and still find your videos insightful and educational! If I could, I'd buy ya cup of coffee. If your ever in my area in Maine, stop in and I'll make ya pot! Heck! Even my hubby will make ya several as he too drinks a lot of coffee! Great realism Steve! Thank you!
I just got a cheap resin kit to see if I enjoyed it. Then while waiting on delivery I found your videos. Very informative but now I have a shopping list. Actually I have two shopping lists. One for immediate needs just to try things out and the other for in the future. Luckily I already have the breathing equipment. So I don't need that but there's a bunch of other stuff I need. Mainly baby wipes and mixing cups cuz I forgot those last night. This had better be fun. Thanks for the instructions! I keep watching & my list keeps getting longer. Seriously I have a notepad app open behind the youtube app & keep having to switch over to it. Luckily everything is inexpensive so far. At least for starting anyway.
Hi Steve I’m a complete newbie yet to do my first one! I came across your videos on UA-cam and I love them! They are super helpful and the bloopers make me laugh. Hopefully I will pluck up the courage to do my first one soon. I like to be super-prepared though, so your videos are really helping me. Xx
Thank you for this info! I do use double sided tape, idk if that is more efficient... but i'll use the mold release from now on. Molds are pricey in our area...

Hello @Steve McDonald Arts And Crafts Thank you so very much for showing this looks like I need to get me several items ..LMAO 🤣 I just Love 💘 your bloopers your so funny Steve 😆 A Goldfish 🐠 We would never commit you Steve Much Love 💘 here❣❣ I never really thought about the proper way to store your molds But I'm glad you taught us before I started my resin art buisness up !! I recently bought a quality air purifier for my craft room that I have on whenever I’m in there. For a typical craft room, you don’t need one that covers a massive area (price increases according to coverage) but of course the bigger the coverage, the faster it purifies & probably the better it works too. I made sure to get one that has an active carbon layer in the filter that also filters formaldehyde as well as dust & pollen particles. Any that filters formaldehyde will also filter out toxins, aerosols, chemicals ect from the air & that your crafting & resin items are gassing off…. Some purifiers you have options to buy different filters for different things too. I’ve noticed a huge difference since getting mine!! In fact, so much so, that I quickly forked out $400 on another, bigger air purifier for the rest of my house too. Had no idea the air, even in our living room felt “heavy” till we got the purifier. Now I strongly recommend them for any craft room or wood working area!! Such a small price to pay for the added protection & it’s a protection you can actually FEEL!! Just be sure to research replacement filters before deciding on one. Some need replacing every 1-3 months, whereas others are much longer (mine are both every 6 months). Filters aren’t universal between brands & models so be sure filters are easily purchasable & affordable for you before deciding on one. You don’t wanna jump on a bargain if the filter replacement is 3x as often at double the price if that makes sense?…. & the electricity cost is low on both mine too, even my big Xiaomi 4 Pro. I got both purifiers with auto feature too so they can sense when particles, smoke or fumes are in the air & will turn itself up higher accordingly, although I always manually turn mine up when I know I’m working with nasty stuff. For people who don’t like Ozone (like me), read & choose carefully. Many air purifiers also emit Ozone so either choose one that specifically says it doesn’t have Ozone or one where you can switch Ozone off. My craft room one doesn’t have Ozone at all, the bigger Xiaomi one does but it’s one of the very few that give you the option to turn Ozone off with an indicator icon on the screen so you know it’s off. I can also choose to turn the WiFi off on both my machines too which I also love. No point blasting us & my cats with another WiFi item when it’s not needed but when I do want it, I can turn it on & use the apps to adjust settings & check air quality levels from anywhere, even when I’m not home!! I definitely recommend an air purifier to any crafter, especially resin workers!! You do get what you pay for with purifiers. I did TONS of research before deciding but good thing about a craft room one is you can get one that’s for a smaller space rather than one designed to do most of a whole house so that’ll keep your size costs way down while bumping the quality itself up without taking a big financial hit. Xiaomi seems to give the most bang for your buck. They have lots of models now but their price seems to always be much lower than the other top brands & sizes ect but equal or even superior coverage & features. They’re boxed shaped too so fit in spaces better. If I have to replace my craft room one in the future, I think I’ll get another Xiaomi like I’ve got in our living room. Hope this helps someone. Can’t recommend getting one enough for crafters!! 💜💜

Try using a blow dryer set on medium high, it's the same thing they sell to help remove bubbles.

I'm deadly allergic to epoxy resin. Even with a respirator mask I can't handle it. But I'm able to use UV resin... so I'm wondering how to make sure I take the best care possible for my molds (got many of small flowers that I'm afraid to damage!)
