Tim Allen: "Its got a nice sound to it, I'm happy man!" .....that is literally the definition of car guy heaven.
ya
then shortly after he rips it a little and tim looks nervous at what gear jay is in.. its hilarious hes definable nervous lmao
This video was funny seeing Tim’s anxiety that’s happening over his car 😂
This particular model and year was always my favorite, as far as looks go. I appreciate Tim improving on the original design without going too crazy.
I never knew these models had bad steering and bad brakes, and unibody issues. It was always out of my price range, but If I had money to burn, this would the car I'd pick.
I wonder how much Tim has invested in this, in my head, the ultimate muscle car. $300,000?
You can tell that Tim really appreciates that Jay “gets” his car.
They're both pretty damn close to being numbers 1A and 1B on the Car Guy list so one admiring the other's project would be a great honor.
Car guys dream when somebody explains to YOU why you’ve put that certain something in that exact spot. They just know.
Yeah. Impressing someone who has the money to build anything is really a feat
This is one of my favorite episodes. I come back to it every so often, like comfort food
I do as well, and I wouldn't mind a comfort car Camaro like this a bit!
I'm not usually a fan of green paintjobs, but this is absolutely beautiful.
Wonder what the official color name is? Reminds me of a dark metallic emerald pearl green 💚..
Lime green and bright green look terrible. But this kind of forest green is a green i can get behind for sure.
Imagine pulling up to a Camaro and Tim Alan and jay Leno are in it
I was going to write this comment verbatim, you beat me to it. +1.
I would flip LOL
Smoking a Doobie like Cheech and Chong
Yeah two UNFUNNY comics that made it big.
I'd prolly immediately go into a coma from excitement
Just a great episode. Two real car guys talking shop, not trying to 1up the other like so many other guys.
I admire the respect for pure traditional muscle, while adding completely necessary modern features.
Well done!
I've always been a Tim Allen fan and he has great taste in cars. He did everything right with this one.
Couldn't have said it any better
Exactly Jeff, my feelings as well. Just watched your new video, and saw this on the side bar.
Tim Allen is a RAT and not funny. He snitched out tons of people so he didn't have to do time for trying to SELL A KILO OF COKE IN AN AIRPORT.
Let that sink in. Who is that stupid???
@@cognitivedissonance7539 and how does that affect you?
camaro
I personally tend to watch these videos
ua-cam.com/video/Ozyg5sju1z8/v-deo.html
I think Tim scared himself when he did that burnout! Likely he never did that before. Look was priceless... Frightened for sure!
Tim Allen has style and taste.
Hell yes! That man is a CLASSIC car guy! Hat's off to Mr. Allen.
and money, you should have mentioned that first.
The look on Tim Allen's face as he's doing the burn out is priceless. It looks like he's about to lose his Sh*!
+God Save America He did LOL
+God Save America was just going to comment on that lmao
+dhd now just watching it again, he was so close to driving off the reservation and straight into one of them trees. But his car can run!
+God Save America Yep, I know that look! It's called doing something you know you shouldn't in a car with no traction control on a street lined with cars. LOL!
+God Save America Good thing the diff is open or he would have done a power slide into those parked cars. Back in the day, buddy had a four speed 69 camaro SS. It was leaned on pretty good, would run 12.8 on slicks. He could burn down the road as long as he wanted with the rear sliding back and forth since it was a posi. Go down the road 100 yards sideways. LOL.
You really can't beat that look. It's timeless. Beautiful car.
Mustang.
Doesn't look as good as this.
That scared look on Tim's face when he's doing the burnout. Priceless!
This is what I believe a resto-mod should be. Subtle period correct changes and tastefully modernize the driving experience without taking away the character of the vehicle. Probably the best '68 Camaro in the world today.
@Jar of Smegma I think he's referring to "character" in the sense of the vehicle's design and aesthetic details. Too many restomods have digital dashes, wheels and interior parts from modern cars. This one looks like a regular '68 from the outside, and the interior also looks like factory spec (except for the large gauges - but they still look appropriate) - this car is very tastefully done!
And he didn't do that 24 inch low profile crap you see in Foose results. I can't recall just how many cars Chip ruined on his show over the years turning people's classic rides into some Hoopty mobile.
You’re an idiot
@port nut If that car were in a showroom today , it would not look out of place (assuming the bumpers would pass a crash test) as far as the styling. Emissions might be an issue too. The safety equipment... would be frowned upon.
Boy, the government has sure ruined cars and ruined drivers too. There is so much equipment helping bad drivers , they don't need to learn how to drive.
If that's a '68, where are the marker lights? Looks more like a '67.
The fact that Tim Allen loves cars like the character he played on Home Improvement is awesome.
Hey Pepe Roni, you a Howard fan too?
For Jay being a comedian he never gets jokes
he's too seriuos about car
cause that foo only cares about himself; me me me me me.. haha me im funny.. ill chuckle at your jokes but never laugh....
@@hellboy6661234 Ironic as Leno isn't as funny.. But they both know that!
I thought the same thing! Glad he at least lightened up a little bit once he got behind the wheel.
@@MagicAyrtonforever haha exactly!
My first car at 16 years old. A bday present from my Dad. Blessed.
Jay Leno, Tim Allen, and Adam Carolla should have done the American Top Gear.
hell yeah
great idea
That would be an awesome show! Cool AND funny!
Woah, that would be good!
Nah, they all know too much about cars
the real trick is having money
So true 👍
sure does help
Or skill, with enough time to learn (turning it into a hobbie), surrounding yourself with likeminded people, you can build your dream car as well. Watch the Mighty Car Mods gods, they will show you the way :)
And keeping the money lol
Bingo!
Jay: “There’s nothing on this car that doesn’t need to be here”
Tim: “Except maybe us..”
😂 well played good sir
Including seatbelts . . . .
Damn, Tim's passion really shines through on this one! I love how excited he was describing all the matching textures under the hood. Just awesome stuff XD
I love how they shut the music off before the car does a drive-by. Thank you Jay!
and thanks you Tim for making such a beautiful car!
I love it. I thought Jay would look down on it, but he loves it! An old man once told me, the old cars restored still drive like an old car. This car is the best of both worlds!!!
This has been my favorite episode of the series, you can tell Tim and Jay are both car guys and genuinely love their cars. Hope to see Tim back on another episode with another car! Great work.
That has to be one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen in my life.
I know I'm probably not the only person to have this thought, but if gm would just release a brand new special Retro Camaro they wouldn't be able to keep up with the orders. I'm talking a Camaro that looks exactly like a 1st gen (and i don't mean a modern take on the original)but with modern drivetrain, chassis, and amenities. They can still sell their new Gen Camaro as well.
@@brody.4098 the problem is it probably would. Probably be one of those cars only available to dedicated cm /Camaro owners. And it'd probably cost another $20k above a normal camaro. If they could keep the price the same though they would have trouble keeping up with production lol
They really missed the boat by not doing a retro ‘57.
I think interest would be high but the demand wouldn't. A first gen Camaro is small, with the factory seats anyone over 6' will be aware of headroom. The general foot print of the 1st gen Camaro is about the same as my RX-7.
As for the cost they wouldn't be cheap not unlike the company making new 70' Mustangs.
I just want a chevelle or and old nova
@@GlassTopRX7 i was driving two 68s in 69 and 70, both SS 396 with 4 speeds. I was just a tad over 6 foot then and other then needing to duck when getting in head room was never a problem. Having anyone in the back seat was though.
I think going to the 68 body style would be a winner.
its great hearing old dads talking about there cars:)
When Jay said "rollin on 22 inch dubs"
This remains as my favorite featured guest car.
Totally agree! Such a timeless vehicle. ♥️♥️♥️
And a great owner too. Tim's back and forth with Jay was great :)
Tim Allens face at the end doing that burn out... He thought he was gonna lose it there for a second! Lovely looking car. Well done.
Tim is a great guest for this show, knows his cars AND can actually talk on camera.
Sweet ride too.
Listening to these two Legends eloquently discuss cars with so much knowledge and insight has made me now feel like an expert!
😅
Tastefully done. Those wheels are perfect for that color and style of car. Man Tim has the same exact taste as I do.
Wish I could meet these guys in person.
Me too, but Tim has does not have to cut corners. He an do everything right.
Looks like it could be Verdoro Green, a Pontiac color, referring '68 GTO color, but it could be a custom color, also so who knows.
Car guys...we know what we like!
Tim's face when he did the burn out XD
I love Tim Allen's laugh when Jay gives it gas in 3rd gear and it still snaps him back.
Beautiful ride! Love the fact that Tim uses the car as it was intended. And Tim and Jay, in a car like that, you just know they're gonna find trouble. 👍🏼
One of the best cars on this show ever. Very tastefully done.
Gh0sT 100 percent agree
Jay and Tim should replace Adam Ferrara and Rutledge Wood on Top Gear US! Then it might actually be worth watching.
But you would still have the most annoying one.... alternately, just watch the real version (This is coming from an american btw)
ElmosKnife I only watch Top Gear after they ruined Top Gear U.S. in the third season. Tanner is fine he is the american hamster...And I'm american also...
ElmosKnife Top Gear (UK) is by far the best Top Gear
Justin Bechtel Captain Obvious to the rescue!
Jay Leno, Tim Allen, Jerry Seinfeld.
Tim knows what looks good... this car is perfect. Nothing out of place, nothing overdone. Love the rims, love the color... it's the kinda car that makes you look twice.
HA! Yea right you must be crazy, because it is NOT the kinda car that makes me look twice, its the kinda car that makes me look 100 times . haha, IM just messing with ya ; )
What a great episode! Love Tim Allen and love Jay Leno! Wonderful car, fun to see both of them in the car.
Watching these two guys together talking shop and going over the details of this beautiful machine is somehow very relaxing
He was so damn scared when he was doing the burn out, he thought he was gonna go sideways in to a car! Priceless:)
..and the look on Tim's face doing a burn-out....OMG, OMG. OMG this is scary!!!
+Thomas Ballenger Think he realised he probably wasnt in the smartest place to do it with cars/trucks on either side of him, when it starts skipping the back end out sideways and you get that " this isnt going as planned" feeling lol. I know it well.
+Antifaith29 hahah yep, been there, done that!
+Thomas Ballenger Not as scary as *shower time* in a Michigan state prison.
woooooooooow.
+Thomas Ballenger Remember, he is an actor.
Man, what a beautiful car. Definitely a classic done right. Nice to see a legit Hollywood car guy too.
I've never seen a Camaro from that era with almost invisible mods on it like that one.
Tim really had a good plan for "driver".
Jay sure loves it too!
Great episode, thanks.
I like that the aesthetic mods mostly just made it look more like a Javelin
@@KrikZ32 😂
LMAO Tims face when he does a burnout on that narrow street. Classic terror.
Me thinks Tim hasn't driven the car enough yet.
Johnny P haha that's just him being him
No doubt he's an old school gear head
That and he Is just goofy in general think of all the roles he played
cory prid
He wasn't acting. That was fear in his eyes.
LOL! The look on Tim's face as he doing a burn out is priceless.
Yeah,@12:10 it looks as though he's about to wipe out.
lol yeah he looks terrified hahaha
I watched the Ring brothers Camaro video, then I went back to this and re-watched it, this is so much better. This is my favorite build.
I do the same,Ring Brothers Camaro is kind overdone but....still i liked somehow:)
Robert Smith this one is more beautiful, i love the stance, the shape and thaaat color, but for functionality i would choose the other one
I just saw the Ring Brothers Camaro and I came to watched this for the third time. Both great examples but if by some miracle I had a choice, .. I'd take the COPO 427. It screams cool.
Thank you, Tim and Jay! For sharing the Camaro and the ride experience with us! 😊
Thank you Mr. Allen and also Mr. Leno for keeping American muscle alive
Does anyone else remember Tim Allens 50's nomad in Home Improvement because I do. Also, that car is just gorgeous, and he is a real car guy!
Oh yeah, how could you forget that!
one of the best cars - so simple, so beautiful, the green is perfekt an the number 427 is a great number
those subtle changes look like an Italian design house touched it. Beautiful.
I am not a camaro guy at all, but Tim Allens copo is one hell of a camaro and I would definitely like to have it. Nice job Tim 👍👍
OMG.!!!!! Be-a-utiful.!!!!!!!
In 1967 and 1968, Yenko was dropping 427 cubic-inch monsters from Corvettes into Camaro bodies and creating some of the most powerful Camaros of the era. One of Yenko’s crowning achievements came in 1969 when Yenko was tired of selling Camaros with limited warranties because of his modifications and convinced Chevy to add a 427-equipped Camaro to its special equipment ordering system, known as COPO (central office production order).
This addition of the 427-equipped Camaro to COPO made it possible for Yenko to sell these cars with the GM-standard 5-year or 50,000-mile warranty. Yenko ordered a grand total of 198 of the Camaro 427s available from COPO. The total number of COPO Camaros produced and sold is unknown, but has been rumored as anywhere from 500 to 1,000.
With exception of the 427 jammed into the engine compartment, the Camaro 427s came from COPO with almost nothing identifying them as a special model; they even came with the old dog dish hubcaps on steel wheels. Yenko made sure to order his from COPO with 15-inch rally wheels, a front stabilizer bar, and a 140 mph speedometer. The rest of the customization was all Yenko’s doing.
I saw this Camero and it brought tears to my eyes. My sister had a ‘68 the same color, but with a white stripe around the front end and down the side. 327, 3 speed. It had been her boyfriend’s before he went to Vietnam. She took over the payments when he was drafted. Unfortunately, she lost control of it during an ice storm and it was a basket case after that. Thank God she wasn’t hurt. We were 4 years and 1 day apart in age, she being born on April 3rd, 1952 and me on April 4th, 1956. She passed away in 2017 of cancer, leaving a huge void in my life and a bigger hole in my heart.
Great car Tim. May it live forever.
Danny Matthews
The Arnold impression was the best. Great looking car. I love 69' but that is one of the best looking 68s I've seen.
I'm a Ford guy through and through, but I have a soft spot for the 67 and 68 Camaros.. especially the 68 as I like them without the vent window.. that car is built nicely.. and the look on Tim's face.. looked like he wasnt ready for the power there.. he might want to check the seat for marks... :) thanks for sharing the car with us, Tim Allen.
Ferrari guy and life long Formula 1 fan sounding in.
I would not mind having Tim's car in my garage : )
My exact thoughts about Tim's burnout but I would probably have same "oh man" facial if I was taking a responsive yet "loose" vehicle down a street with parked vehicles. I have had my fair share of check the seat moments!
True dudes right here. Funny I literally just watched Tim and Jay laying some rubber on Jay's show from like 20 years ago, and they are still doing it together all this time later. That makes my heart happy.
Watching this brings back great memories for me. I was in my early 20s but a fixer upper a 68 firebird. Trump out it was a true ramair car .i had to body work in school and that how I was making my living. I didn't get to enjoy it for long though but I sure loved the time while it lasted. See I found out that my youngest son had cerebral palsy and my life changed. I need something more dependable to get him the help he would need. I always thought someday I'd be able to build another one like it. Now I'm in my early 50s and not in best health but watching your videos always brings a smile to my face! My wife and I have injoyed 32 years and some great times were in that old 68 .keep doing what you do and I'll keep watching with a smile. THANKS!
Even the Italian stylists in their 1950's & 60's heyday couldn't have designed a car as beautiful as that. It is perfect from every angle. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. Lovely colour aswell !
The first gen Camaros always struck me as the equivalent of a finely tailored suit. In the beautiful shade of green Tim has on this car, it's just magnificent. This just reminds me more of why a '69 Camaro restomod is my dream car.

+Borderline5440 The poportions are right there. Modern versions of these kind of cars, but also Porsches..... it´slike there was a basic design, that only worked for certain dimensions and now they have blown them out of proportion. Baby -> cutest thing on earth. Mansized baby -> nothing but creapy.
+9and10 Good point!
Still can't beat this look, its not a age thing about this beauty 😍 👌.
"Hold on, I'll be right back." Priceless. Both Jay and Tim are in their 60s, and viewers in this bracket will get the joke. (I'd write more here, but, uh, I gotta go.)
Amen, brother. Time for that Saw Palmetto.
Clever comment sir 👍
Jay is actually in his 70s!
Why these two are not the hosts for the American Top Gear, is beyond me.
Two words: Network Television
Perfection has so many forms, this being one of them. Simply beautiful.
When 2 car enthusiasts meet, the conversation roars.
It definitely isn't an age thing. I'd kill to have a car like that and I'm just now going on 29.
Imagine being an LAPD officer and pulling over a car with Jay Leno and Tim Allen in it?
Oh I always loved the '68 Camaro. My parents had one and I'd take it out whenever they'd let me, and I found out that the girls seemed to like it too!
Lucky lucky lucky
My first car was a '68 Camaro. It only had the 250 cube I-6 and Powerglide, but I loved it!
Lucky!
68 is my favorite, so clean!
Imagine you pull up to a red light, and beside you is a 1968 Camaro with Tim Allen & Jay Leno inside.
I think I'd be like I'm gonna race them and I'd try but I have a corolla and I'd remember this day forever
haha Tim's face when he did the burnout XD
Best looking Camaro-I've ever seen.
Agreed. It's so beautiful, I would literally start crying if it drove by me. It has everything a car needs, the old look, with all the modern quality, and performance. It's almost universally agreed that Chevy needs to recreate this look, and stop fiddling around.
That's entertainment history right there.
Many thanks to Jay & Tim for decades of our lives.
jay leno = Americas top gear
Not a bad idea.
Really though
Games and Guns what about the guys over at roadkill?
Energize Production Never watched it
you gotta watch roadkill if you're a carguy dude its awesome.
Jay: it's not an age thing - I'm 20 and this car is stunning!
Tim and the shop that put the wrench time in really knocked that build out of the park.
Tim seems like a real person, he isn’t involved with the fake Hollywood scene. At least that’s what it appears.
He's been hit pretty hard in the past few years for being right-leaning. If being a Republican in Hollywood without apologies isn't a test of realness, I don't know what is. #LeftistsHate
Right.even on his sit com he had his show car in the garage working on it.
I think he is too old for that anyway
Nah, Tim's One of Us... ;) \,,/
@@CapnSlipp I honestly think that in modern day times. There are way to many people who are WAY TO FAR LEFT, or WAY TO FAR RIGHT, on the political spectrum where both sides need to be closer so while they may not have to agree with each other, they can at least listen to the other side perspective
I got goose bumps watching this
i like how he kept it pretty much close to an original..
LOL tim allen's face when he does the burnout, terrified!
Thought he was gonna lose it haha.
Yeah, his eyes were as big as the steering wheel! Cracked me up.
yeah i think tim wet him self at the end
Thats just him goofing around. Watch Home Improvment,,just part of his schtick.
MORE POWER!!! RRR!!!
If I had the money for a perfect Camaro from this generation, this is pretty much what I would do to it. Clean and tasteful.
Might be the nicest Camaro I think I've ever seen.
6:51 Tim Allen has mastered the "car guy stance"
Tim look like he was about to take a dump,by his expression with burnout, like he was about to lose control of car ha ha!
haha i literally lol'd when he was doin that burnout
I wanted to hear Tim Allen do his grunt after the burnout.
This car is absolute perfection.
I’ve always loved tim allens cars since the home improvement days when i was a kid. I’ll never forget the episode when he crushes the 55 Nomad Wagon with the crane.
Very nice. Maybe Tim Allen likes old cars for the same reason anyone does, because they just look better. They are much easier to work on without all the computer bs. Just look at the elegance of that thing.
Not all that, but quality material, and feel of that interior, the feel of the steel, the steering wheel, the door handle, and the feel of the road, the sound. Of course the superior body styling and originality.
bruh.. google camaros or any older car for that matter it dont look like that; his endless supply of money made it look like that.
@@hellboy6661234 highly modified or not, it's still hard to beat classic body lines.

Tim's face is classic doing a burn out that cracked me up
He was concentrating no doubt! lol
Prayer for Jay this week. Hang in there Leno!!
I love Tim Allen! haha Great funny guy. Used to watch a lot of Home Improvement, and I've seen many of his movies too.
This was a great episode. Jay Leno and Tim Allen, a good comedic pairing I think.
Tim Allen's face was that of: "This is my baby, please don't hurt it!"
Love Tim’s Camaro. One of my favorite Camaro’s ever. Not over the top and kept the essence of the car.
Tim always brings the best stuff, love that car!!!
Rally's are the way to go. On my 69' I had the matte black painted in between the shiny crime of the wheel..man did it look badass...Tim's car here is just flawless
What an amazingly elegant car. Great, great job.
This has to be one of my all time favourite car builds. I would love to own this car.
Beautiful job on this '68, I'm not a vintage expert but I knew it was a '68 on first glance. I was in my early teens when the model came out, man, some models really made an impression on us Sixties kids. Tim, your taste is impeccable, your eyes - our hearts! Thanks for sharing...
his face in the burnout though XD
Tim Allen needs a youtube channel.. Big time!
Hey give the guy a break. At least he turned over some kind of new leaf. Why keep holding something over someones head for years and years?
+MrNotorius5500 WHAT are you referring to? Holding WHAT over his head? All he said was "a UA-cam". Tim would be someone with a great channel. R, R, R, R!
What? You must have replied to the wrong comment.
I think he was making a joke about Allen's troubles with the law back in the 70s and tongue in cheek pretending 'big time' meant time in prison.
His channel needs all the outdoor man vlogs from Last Man Standing
