So glad you put that extra crush washer on the banjo bolt. It’s supposed to go on both sides and acts as a gasket sort of
Yeah, I was quite confused about it to be honest 😅👍🏻
Great job, waiting for more videos 🤗
Awesome stuff like always! Its been a while! 👌👌👍
It has… 😅 but 2023 has some of the best mods on the way!!!
I subbed because of your full disclosure. Not everyone will show their mistakes. It I swear you u are the only person on the ENTIRE internet who has said what offset is needed to clear LS calipers :)
Thank you for these videos. Keep them up 👍
You’re welcome. Almost got all the parts for the manual swap! Stay tuned :) thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Instant like. Was waiting for this video.
I know it’s been a long wait, I’m sorry 😅 manual swap coming in the new year! 😁✌🏻
Me toooooo
unrelated but haven't watched your videos in years and binging them right now, noticed you ditched the full beard and stache. looks so much better😅
There’s so much more to come! 😋 The beard comes and goes… whenever I can be bothered to shave 😋
Great video, glad you included the mistakes .
have these calipers, planning to fit them on my Soarer.
If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be… get them powder coated 😅 then build them :) Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Thanks for that very helpful and authentic video tutorial. I really appreciated watching it ❤
There's always trial & error and if you're gonna watch my videos of my Altezza you'll clearly see how I messed up my own brake caliper paint job 😂
Nice video👍 can’t wait to hear your opinion on the manual box as well. I think once you’ve done that a welded diff is mandatory 😂
I’ve got a factory LSD 😉✌🏻
@@shizukesajdm 👀 no fair! Haha
The rust is insane, I'd move asap :D
It’s really annoying! 😅
Honey, what are you cooking? Oh, nothing big darling, just baking my LS400 calipers :D
That Fabrication song sounds like something straight out of Nier Automata. Your dust shield is in much better nick that mine. Replaced a calliper and it was essentially entierly gone, but the calliper was cheaper than the dust shield (like £60) so I just left it
They’re pointless anyway! 😅 Not sure what Nuer Automata is… 🤔
Beautiful! Makes me miss mine I also went w bronze/gold, I recently picked up a 3is not sure what color imma go with for the brakes
What colour is the car?
@@shizukesajdm it’s gray/silver , somewhere in between cause it’s not as dark as other greys
I’d turn the wheel next time, for easier access to mount the caliper 😁
Great video man!
What wheels are those? 2nd Gen IS?
1st gen 👍🏻
@@shizukesajdm nice, we had different 5 spoke and 11 spoke OEM Wheels than these 10 spokes in Canada/US.
@@gurpreetsoomal5408 We have the 5 spoke ones too :) depends on the choice at the dealer from new I think. Both 200s and 300s can have either. Maybe it depended on trim too, I’m not sure ☺️
wow
How have you found the pedal feel with the LS400 brakes? Have heard the pedal can be spongy at times
It was quite spongey actually 🤔
I'm planning on doing this to my Lexus is200/300 but ma struggling to find street performance pads for the ls400 big pot callipers.
I’d go with project mu, stoptech or EBC greenstuff 👍🏻
♥️♥️♥️👏👏👏
Great video as always. Question about the the 4 bolts that bolt the caliper together do you know the size or type of the shorter one I have ls400 calipers but missing a bolt
I don’t know, sorry. I tried to find them brand new, but literally nobody could get them, not even Lexus. They only sell the entire calliper. I’m sure a Lexus or Toyota breaker might be able to get you a used one. Good luck! 👍🏻
@@shizukesajdm thank you think I will just try to find a bolt that fits. But great videos watch them all the time
@@shaunsegree4587 I’m glad! Thanks for watching! Manual swap incoming! 😋✌🏻
@@shizukesajdm I will be waiting really want to see that one
@@shaunsegree4587 It will require a lot of planning because I will be swapping the ECU from locked to unlocked/modified and using dyno runs to show the difference in power etc. This will all come in the summer sometime :)
How have the calipers held up since you didn’t use the clips for the rubber boots? I have the same clips in my rebuild kit and they don’t give me any confidence because they seem to pop off really easily
Working perfectly fine so far :) those clips are no good imo.
Since u did the front bbk and have to bleed the brakes. U have to do all 4 right brakes right and not the 2 fronts only?
Ideally, yes :)
Hey man, ive just brought myself a set of ls400 calipers, discs and pads for the front end. You mentioned you need the RCA's but the rank one kit doesn't mention you need them?
Which Rank One kit? I've not seen it. You definitely need RCAs if you're using the stock wheels.
@@shizukesajdm the is200 to ls400 brake conversion adaptor kit. It does have RCA's but not the type you mentioned, they are like a big spacer that goes in the bolt of the caliper? I messaged rank one after I watched your video and they said I just needed the calipers, discs, pads, spacers and the kit and they would fit. I sent them a picture of your RCA's that you had already installed before you did the brake upgrade ( the blue ones ) and they said you didn't need that 🤷🏻♂️
@@CharlieeDownes Did you read the description on their website?
rankoneperformance.com/collections/lexus/products/lexus-is200-is300-altezza-big-brake-kit
> "17mm RCA kit with billet aluminium spacers, hard anodized, high tensile strength bolts and heavy duty washers"
They're already included.
@@shizukesajdm I suppose I'm more just trying to clarify if the conversion kit that isn't the whole brake kit still requires the RCA's because on the conversion kit the RCA's are said to be the biggish spacer that goes on the bolt that goes in caliper 🤷🏻♂️ it's confused me watching your video and looking at their site. I'm not looking to buy their whole kit. I'll buy the brakes and stuff separately
@@shizukesajdm this conversion kit still has these 4x 17 mm Aluminum roll centre adjusters (hard anodized)
4x M12x1.25x50 mm 10.9 high tensile strength bolts for the RCAs
🙏👍💯👌
Hmmm. can I do the same with my Infinity FX35, but with Nissan parts? Hmmm.
I’ve got no idea, I’m a Toyota boy 😅 I’m sure there’s a similar swap you can do if you do some research online 👍🏻
Those anyone knoe wat kind of offset do the aftermarket wheels have to be ?
+35 or less 👍🏻 stock wheels are +50
Were you able to figure out where the brake squeal was coming from?
Yeah the pads are just squealy pads haha! Gonna try this though: bofiracing.co.uk/running-gear/brake-friction/brake-lubricants/permatex-silicone-ceramic-extreme-brake-lubricant/
@shizukesajdm I was going to say it might be the caliper pins and not having the anti squeal hardware. I had the ebc yellow and stoptech rotors with the pins you have and no anti squeal hardware and it squealed bad. I tried oem break pads and stock rotors and still very loud squeal. I recently switched to the actual ls400 caliper pins with anti squeal hardware and it got rid of most of the noise. I think those after market pins could be a little bit bigger diameter than the oem pins probably causing the very loud squeal.
@@jicez6649 Actually I have the anti squeal shims still… maybe I should fit them and see if it makes a difference. Did you use grease?
@shizukesajdm just whatever grease was on there already. The caliper pins was the last thing to change and that seemed to make the biggest difference.
@@jicez6649 Interesting. I’ll keep this all in mind when I sort it out later this month. Just trying to get the next manual swap video edited. Thanks for your input, it’s much appreciated! 🙏🏻
hi mate, literally doing the exact same on my jzx, what size are they discs? Are they 315mm?
314mm 👍
@@shizukesajdm legend man, thanks.🙏🏻
@@craigfarquhar5764 Sorry for the late reply! Christmas and new year stuff going on! 😃
@@shizukesajdm It’s all good my man. I know what it’s like, I Hope you had a good Christmas and New year. All the best for 2024 mate!
hey man, do you have the link for the dust seals please for the pistons please.
*YOUR BRAKE HOSE IS UPSIDE DOWN!!!*
Yep. Already fixed it, thanks! 😅
@shizukesajdm Oooh OK. I noticed that after I wrote my comment someone had mentioned it. I figured you were an arrogant type and didn't like being wrong, lol
@@804MRMAN I’m always wrong. Everyday is a school day 😊🤷🏻♂️
@@shizukesajdm Great attitude to have in life!
What break rotor did you use for the front???
What rotors did you use ?
EBC front, Brembo rear.
Same process for the GS 300?
Yep, I think so! ☺️✌🏻 just check that the part numbers match.
You removed all the rotor cooling metal piece?
They’re only for protecting against dust. Not a big deal.
Thanks I’ll do the same
Man in the end it will end up you will make me sell it even before I start building it lol … naaa I’m just kidding you, this will also be my car for life … so a colleague of mine from Poland bought it for me on 1st of December 2022 and I went to Warsaw on 17th Dec 2022 and I was able to drive it on my own to Bulgaria on 20th Dec 2022, so I’ve drove 1500+ KMs in 283000+(ODO) KMs. 2003 Lexus IS300 Sportcross with LPG (but I was driving it only with gasoline cause I don’t want to screw up anything … anyways I’m definitely gonna take your video as a must about the breaks in my list as those calipers are a must (I had Bugeye EJ207 and I know how important are the breaks) but my main goal is to build the bottom end properly, so are you gonna use Manley dish top 1:9.0 pistons, what kind of rods ? Also what kind of injectors, but the most important thing is are you gonna use Speeduino ECU like the already done IS200 with Speeduino ECU or you’ll use something else, but I saw the M3 2JZ Swap which is already running Speeduino on it, so I’m very optimistic about it ! BTW if you can give me a hand at least where can I register and start following up on your build and to exchange information on all of those topics I will be very thankful if you do so and yes you are my inspiration to buy my own IS300 and to start building it on my own ! Keep that in mind ! Yes I would be eventually using the cheapest manual transmission I can find in my country and it is the BMW ZF CS6-53DZ with PMC Motorsport Stage 2 kit for it ;) … about the turbo kit I dunno … will see but there is a sick car tuner in my home town so may be I’ll give him the opportunity to create a fully custom turbo kit for me and really hope it will worth it, but man people says the stock head can handle max up to 500bhp so are you gonna put racing cam shafts and what springs and retainers for the valves or you’ll leave them stock ?
Hey! Thanks for watching! If you check out my first IS300 video, you'll see the plan all layed out. However, it will take a long time to get to that stage!
ua-cam.com/video/1IAOjf2wVg8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Shizukesa
CP or Wiseco pistons
Manley rods
BC 272 cams
BC titanium springs and retainers
ACL bearings
GTE HG with ARP studs
1000cc injectors
Link ECU
etc etc.
But first, I will get 300hp from a turbo kit just to experience the stock turbo 2JZ power :) Also this gearbox I'm putting in won't take much more than 300hp and 500nm so I have to wait for the sequential dream! haha
Good luck with your build! You can contact me on Instagram if you need to. Check the description.
May I kindly ask for the front bumper lip ?
@@cpurage You mean a link?
@@shizukesajdm yes
@@cpurage There’s a video on my channel about the front lip. But here is the link: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183940411789?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uTOs9sNhRRC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=lo3DwS2KSlS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

University is almost over and then manual swap is coming 😋👍🏻 hang tight!
I literally just asked the same thing. XD
7:54 you don't need always use high temperature paint.
thank you so much for this vid i been hopping vid to vid for a good understanding of how to do it and i just found it
Enjoy! ☺️ ✌🏻
Hi, great video! It looks like your brake line is touching your lower control arm at 42:38 . I had the same issue when I installed ss lines on my IS300 as well. It turns out, I was supposed install the brake line on the brake caliper first and then shape it into an "S" shape (like the stock brake lines) and then attach it to the hard line. Here are a couple pictures showing the stock line and ss line after I installed mine.

Just wanted to let you know that it might rub the brake line if left this way. Looking forwards to more of your videos!
I noticed he's the type of person who doesn't like being told he's doing something wrong. Lol
A friend of mine actually let me know this too and I changed it! :) Thank you.
