OK so if you have an is200 bin the shafts, stub axles and the economy spec diff. If you have stock IS300 then just swap the diff. if you went the 4.3 you'd be launching all over the place :) stock is300 diff is 3.7 its junk with the auto Great video with lots of info there, love the tunnel rowdy with all the anti lagz
Pretty much hahaha, unless you get an altezza diff which is 4.11 and will slot right into the is200 Otherwise if you can’t find is300 shafts and stubs then pet turbo jzx shafts and stubs will work and fit the chassis 💪🏼 It’s so much fun sounds mental in there 😂
@@anomalous_media yeah I'm fortunate to have a stock is300 so it has the right rear end. I'll be doing the 4.11 swap eventually to suit my auto. great video on all the many differences must of been a pain to have it on the hoist and ready to swap only to spend a few weeks on Google and buying all the wrong stuff on marketplace
So if I got it right, non-turbo JZX100 stubs are the same as IS300 stubs ? I found the gt86 diff, I have the 300 axles, I just need to find the stubs now and even when cross checking the parts compatibility through toyodiy I have troubles finding actual compatible parts (they list the 7.5 inch SXE10 stubs as the same as the 8" stub from the JCE10/IS300), and there are a loooot of cars listed when you look through that cross reference (aristo, crown, soarer, supra, chaser, etc). I wish I could buy all of them and reference all the sizes so there would no longer be misleading ahah, for example the toyota parts catalogue says stubs from 1997 and later model JZA80 fits, but earlier models JZA80 don't (1997+ has the 10mm bolts but earlier ones have 12mm bolts). It's all so complicated lmao
Yes very true troublesome finding compatibility. Non turbo jzx stubs won’t work ❌ - Small splines with smaller pcd flange to suit is300 shafts and non turbo jzx shafts. Is300 stubs do work ✅ - large splines with smaller pcd flange to suit non turbo jzx and is300 shafts TURBO jzx stubs (AND SHAFTS) do work ✅ - large splines and larger flange to suit turbo jzx shafts Supra/soarer/aristo stubs don’t work ❌ - different style flange and longer splines
Do you have the part number for the is300 stubs? If not, any idea of what year and model to look for? I currently have a JZX100 NA so I need to get the is300 stubs in order to keep my current axles.
The 8inch diffs are pretty solid 💪🏼 I had the 7.5inch is200 diff and it didn’t hold up again the JZ, had about 2000km of work on it before it started wining and shearing gears
If you have a look at the stub shafts from turbo aristo vs turbo jzx they are the same overall length so I reckon you can make it work with turbo JZX shafts and axles, I haven’t done the swap so I can’t say for sure
GT86/BRZ/FRS are all the same ratio, housing and Torsen unit I believe. IS200/300 are the same housing just different ratios. They are all interchangeable
@@anomalous_media ahh I see. So basically if you have IS300 stub Axels you need IS300 Axels, and if you get JZX stubs you have to use the matching JZX Axels? But both JZX and IS300 works with the 86 diff?
It’s so funny hearing guys from the other side of the world say they’re gonna “take a trip to Mexico”
Shop the cars to NZ? 🥴 idk what the equivalent is here 😂😂
Thanks for the research & info, alotta good info there for all of us 👍🏽
Would be a shame struggle for weeks and then not share the info 😂😁

Aw so good! And yeah literally 😂😂 also only realised once I had everything apart
auto is200 diffs are 4.1 ratio in Ireland, manual is 3.9 ratio is stamped on the crown wheel
Nice vids i thought you had 100k+ subscribers 😅 you deserve more 😅😅😅
Love the feedback thanks mate! Hopefully soon 😂🤞🏼
Scion doesn’t exist anymore, so it is the GT86 for us.
Good to know! 😁
Holy shit that is a clean subframe. Must be nice to live in a place with no rust, haha
The trade off is swamp ass and scorching hot days 😂
Sounds so rowdy 🥵
Mang mang 🔥
So I have an auto Altezza. If I want to upgrade to a BRZ LSD, I'll need IS300 stub axles and axle shafts? What about the propeller shaft?
Correct, or turbo JZX shafts and stubs. I have a single piece shaft so I’m not able to confirm if that would need any sort of modifying
That sounds like a 38mm external waistgate? Good on ya Brothers🤙🏾😎
Close! 45mm 😁 cheers!

Im currently working on finding a torsen for my gs400, without going the supra tt auto route.
Would be interesting let me know how you go!

Pretty sure any IS300 stubs will work, sucks the NA stubs don’t fit 🥴
For us Americans, 470kmh is about 292 mph.
That’s nuts 😂
thanks for sharing, great video!
Hope you found it helpful!
did you guys get the is220D?
Im still yet to find the limits of the is300 lsd but this is handy to know for thr future

guy in the uk has 2j 1100hp with is300 lsd and holds up fine few years now
That’s impressive, I assume that would be the 3.9 Ratio? Or were LSD’s different?
Another great video!
Thanks mate ❤️
so the stub axles from a 4.1 open diff in an auto is200 won't fit directly to the gt86 4.1 LSD? please help i'm about to do this swap 🙄
Correct, you’ll need is300 stubs or turbo jzx stubs with matching axles
Have you been drifting yet? How does it feel?
did you have to swap the tail shaft?
I have a one piece tail shaft I had made with the T56 conversion, seemed slightly tighter putting everything back together
Do you know if a manual altezza diff would directly bolt into an auto altezza. Car sounds sick btw.
Yes they do, I ran my mates manual welded diff before the gt86 diff. Car was originally auto
cheers bro
Are all the manual altezza diffs LSD?
Could the y38 86 diff fit into a mx83 Cressida at all. The diff has the jzx stubs and axle’s so would suit the power of the 1jz I’ve put in it.
Planning on doing a Cressida soon but I’ve heard rumours it doesn’t fit unless you swap the internals between diff housings and even then it’s tight
Are the axles the same length on all of the cars? jzx/crown/is. So that the fit on every car, as long as u have the right stubs?
Correct 👍🏼 you could even run an is200 diff and axles in a chaser if you really wanted to 🥴😂
From what you found is it impossible to fit one in an aristo? Or is there an axle shaft combo that would work.
If you have a look at the stub shafts from turbo aristo vs turbo jzx they are the same overall length so I reckon you can make it work with turbo JZX shafts and axles, I haven’t done the swap so I can’t say for sure
You’ll just have to make sure the diff mounting points and also the axle length are the same, would love to know if you end up doing it!
Diff gt86 is ok for lexus is 200 "torsen"????
It fits with jzx TURBO stub axles and shafts. Gt86 is an 8” torsen unit
The question no one answered is can it be an auto diff or dose it have to be manual diff for you to run on the is300 ?
GT86/BRZ/FRS are all the same ratio, housing and Torsen unit I believe.
IS200/300 are the same housing just different ratios. They are all interchangeable
Thank man I appreciate that info . I just pick one up. lol
What gauges are you using?
Using a powertune dash that tells me all I need to know 👌🏼 best bang for buck
So the IS300 Axel has a different bolt pattern to the JZX stub Axels?
The turbo JZX stub axles are much larger than the is300 and NA JZX ones
@@anomalous_media ahh I see. So basically if you have IS300 stub Axels you need IS300 Axels, and if you get JZX stubs you have to use the matching JZX Axels? But both JZX and IS300 works with the 86 diff?
