Hahaha, that was a fun! Definitely enjoyed that burp test. Some people have trouble hitting 145's with 10's and even 12's in a truck as big as a Sequoia, so awesome results from the 6.5" beasts.

Kerry Pence exactly man, design is key. I spent months on the design on this enclosure. You don’t always need the biggest possible driver to do descent numbers👌🏻 this is all initial testing no tweaking of the enclosure or port tuning.

_1_ it can still play down to 26 hz all the way up to 70 hz its musical but rolls off in the lower freqs. But you’re right it’s not meant for decaf music lol

    • @HashDogg06

You want efficiency? go look up Ronnie Ruckus Smith on Facebook, he does over 141db on a single Savard 6.5 inch sub with only 100 watts then does over 149db with almost 1000 watts!

@@mmatsstang2805 Why not? 6th order works great as you have 2 tuning points (high & low), 6th order however in my opinion suffers a little playing tight quick accurate music like rock & types of Drum & Bass which tends to sound a little muddy due to the lack accuracy but seems fine on long extended bass notes which decaf is good for.

  • @dh31409

Once again, it's not really about the subwoofer. It's about the enclosure working in combination with your sub and the environment they're in.

@@tidobass6048 the sealed chamber of a 4th order bandpass promotes more power handling. However, be mindful that at tuned frequencies, sealed chambers lose cone control. It's the opposite for ported chambers.

I'm thinking of doing 6 8" subs like that in my 03 Lexus is300 in a horn style where the opening will be towards front and the subs will be in 2 rows of 3 on top part of opening that will be shaped like >and the rest of the box will be squared off with a port at the very bottom. I'm also building an explorer with 6 Resilient Sounds platinum 15s or 18s depends what kind of enclosure I end up going with because it's only a 2 door so limited on space especially after a 6 battery bank and capacitor bank 1 battery for each taramp 3000 and 6-8 cap bank for each also.

The design alone is enough for me to have an inspiration to oneday make 250wrms 6.5 inch SQ drivers that is a true woofer to in a 3 way component speaker set instead of a subwoofer or a midbass. Same diameter voice coil but single stacked magnet, lighter weight cone, similarly stiff but smaller spider, medium roll supple rubber surround, smaller dust cap.
