Slurpy, that is the stuff my dreams are made of. A tour on a canal boat with a couple of mates having a few beers. I love my dark beers and you found a couple of good looking ones. Thanks again for the video 🍻
Always a joy when a notification pops up there's a new 'Slurpy' video. Cracking beers, cracking company and cracking Christmas cracker jokes 😀 Nice of you to bring your fly collection with you to the Prince of Wales 👍
Fantastic video, brilliant beers, brilliant folk, nice one Dave really enjoyed that video, beers looked decent enough and the Amber Ale pokes it head up again, cheers Dave keep them coming 👍 🍻
These are some of my favorite videos that you do. I didn't even know this was a thing and now I've got to find a way to make it happen! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. Cheers Dave!
@hoppedup you've really got to do your homework on canal trips ..otherwise you can end up at night in the middle of the countryside with no pubs. I work on 3 mph and 10 mins for each lock. If you ever do it make sure you're first trip is low on locks..north Oxford canal might be good for you..cheers mate👍🍺
Every beer drinking man's dream of a trip. Great looking pubs and beers. My late father in law was a fan of Marston's Pedigree, and we had several pints at his local. That was in 2002, so maybe when it was still a top brew. I sure enjoyed it. Cheers, Dave
@gregborneman5523 20 years back Greg Marstons Pedigree was a classic Pale Ale..unfortunately its lost all its nice flavours..very average. Love canal trips Greg, cheers pal👍🍺
Acci - Steve put me on to your UA-cam channel. I enjoy the videos. You have not changed much in 30 years. Good to see Pete, the two Robs and Wayne still going strong. Good choice of Tee Shirt.
@George_S_2024 ha ha Pine Panelling himself😄..how are ya pal..I remember u going on a canal trip with the lads..Great holidays. I did used to have hair to be fair George.Yes best T Shirt ever😄 Great to hear from ya pal👍🍺👏😊
Brilliant. You pick all the good beers, Slumbering Monk is ace as is Dark Side of the Moose. My old stomping ground being a Cheshire lad, and I really did go out with a girl from Congleton. We need to do a beertubers boat one day........
Great update and a bit of karajokie with the first one 🤣. I don't like coffee either, or citrus generally and 🤣🤣 guessed it Redit (missing the chicken and Buk Buk Buk) 🤣. Pedigree is one of my favourites when it's well, only forty 🤣. You seem to have dropped them at the last pub 🤣, caught me with the last one 🤣. Stay safe and well, SIR, cheers, Schnuz.
@Schnuz yeah not a coffee fan of a beer being over citrus. Bit old school 👍I remember how good Pedigree was in its day..cheers for tuning in Schnuz...keep well mate👍
Love your videos and this trip looks amazing. I tell all your jokes to the lads at work. The snooker ball gag was funny 🤣. Looks a brilliant trip and some of the beers looked awesome. The water must be good round them parts . Pedigree really is hard to keep and serve and like you say , years ago it was different and I thought absolutely amazing and used to do things to ya lol 😂. Cheers Speno 🍻
@thespencerarms2022 yes that snooker ball gag was a belter😄 Canal trips are a great way of discovering pubs slightly off the beaten track. I agree what you say about Pedigree, cheers Speno👍🍺😊
Great video Dave had many a pint of Dark side, purple moose do some good ale as do joules slumbering monk a top beer. As for Marston's I won't miss there beer cheers
I always love your canal adventures and this one did not disappoint.👍😎On the beer side, I'm more than intrigued by the Dark Side of the Moose Dark Bitter. I immediately began hunting down recipes for dark bitters but found nothing (so far). The brewery website lists the key ingredients for the dark color, so I can take from that and do some experimenting. The Slumbering Monk was also intriguing. Thank you for highlighting pubs in Congleton and especially these two beers! Great video.🍺🍻
@Skid-Baxter they were fabulous beers Skid. Both classified as Dark Bitter. Crystal malt and Bramling Cross hop are in both beers apparently if that helps. Canal boats & pubs go hand in hand very well..cheers Skid🍺👍
Another cracking video Dave, well done. The two Dark Bitters looked nice. What I have noticed on a recent pub crawl in Exeter is that a lot of cask ale is kept in fairly poor condition. There seems to be a lack of pride in the ale down this way. Cheers Dave 👍🏻🍻🙂
@thebarmen5640 the condition of the ale on this trip was top drawer...the Beartown was actually the most disappointing but still OK.. even the Draught Bass was in great condition and worth a few pints...cheers Graeme👍🍺
Nice one SLurrrrrpy & co. More beer & barges, excellent viewing over breakfast. Not seen those breweries and beers for a while, all excellent (Marston excepted), regular favourites when travelling out of that there London. Happy travels. Cheers #Disco
@RaskoAndDiscoBeerReview cheers Disco...general beer quality on that trip was superb..what's your nearest canal. Thinking of heading south next time on the narrowboats. Cheers pal👍😊🍺
