Great video Dave, especially coming into the summer months. I have a basic rule, if a drink has any connection to Heineken, stay clear of it, sadly, I now include Beavertown in that. Beavertown used to do great beer. I went to Malaga earlier this year, was really surprised at the craft beer scene. Had a pint of Victoria Malaga Negra (Estrella Damm brewery). It was fantastic, mix of pilsner and dark chocolate malts. So Spain I feel, is also getting fed up with poor lager.
Estrella is a good brewery Al..their Vol Damn 7.2% is nice. Yes owt to do with Heineken ( coors / carlsberg group sort of similar) stay clear. Cheers Al😊🍺🍺
Great video Dave. I like a lager now and again but I would never drink San Miguel it is by far the worst lager I’ve had. The others I could tolerate. Keep up the good work 🍺👍

I was never a lager drinker (I thought it was a woman's drink) except for San Miguel when I was a teenager on holiday in Spain 😉 Then I had German lager at an Oktoberfest tent in Edinburgh 😋 It was a revelation! I love (most) the German lagers. I totally agree with you on football and celebrities 👍 p.s. I'm going to try Mahou to see how bad (or good) it is 🤣
Slurpy investigates! Cracking idea, the first pint of the holiday tastes amazing but it’s downhill from there quite rapidly. Victoria Malaga is quite a nice drop, bit more malt in it I think, but can’t beat a cask pint 🍻
I used Amstel beer for one of my tasks in Cask master , because I knew it wasn’t a problem wasting the beer 😅. The Paulaner is a good Un , like all German beers . Not had a bad German beer yet . Lager is a craft and them macro lagers you talked about today are in my opinion, instant lager 😂. I used to love San Miguel when I was younger. Think it has changed , but think it’s more me that’s changed . Enjoyed this Dave , and great you backed it up with local opinions. Nice one. Cheers . Speno

I appreciate a man who knows what he likes and sticks with it. Being an American, for many, many years beer over here was almost nothing but lager. Few if any bars offered anything else on tap. Things have changed and we have far more choices. Maybe it has something to do with climate, as many people find cold lager refreshing in warm weather. As always, your vids are interesting with great scenery. Cheers

Spain can do a lot of great things, but they are crap at lagers. I would rather not drink than suffer bloody Spanish lager on holiday. I can empathise with your struggle. I think Estrella is just piss-water, I bought 2 bottles for review and I just couldn't do it. Another good video Dave keep up the good work and stay away from things that sting and lager! 🙂🍻
Estrella was regarded as one of the better lagers by the locals...Jesus doesn't say much for the others😂 fortunately I found lots of other decent slurps away from spanish lagers. Couldn't find a Sam Smith's Nut Brown in Mallorca though 😂cheers Graeme

You're on the nose about lagers Dave, sunshine and heat hides a multitude of sins, and says a lot about British drinkers who drink it on cold winter days in the UK. Don't know what's happened to Amstel though, at one time I thought it was passable as lagers go. Probably Heineken doing the same to Amstel what they did to Heineken, which Imo once again used to be passable ( only in Holland though )

I much prefer the dark lager beers Dave like the Bock's and Scharzbiers, used to drink Wrexham lager when I was young. Then in 1982 they brewed a dark lager to the original brew on there centenary it was fantastic beer nothing like the macro brewed crap lagers of today cheers

Just say Paulaner in Spanish. LOL Its hard to drink a lager when your local ales are of the same ABV range of a lager. Plus you will never see a lager on cask. I would never drink a lager in that case. LOL

Yeh as soon as I tasted Cruzcampo I knew they had added glucose syrup instead of barley....resulting in a thin tasting bitter mouth taste yuk

The UK version is weaker and not as good as the 5.4% Spanish version

I have had a few of these more often than I would like to admit. But when the beer is free you end up drinking a lot of estrella damm
