      Hey, did yours come with the TRD skid plate? I bought the 24 TRD off road package and it was supposed to have the TRD skid plate but when I did the first oil change this week, I found out that it wasn't there! There was a stock black cover once you lower the front spoiler but NO skid plate. I called Toyota and the dealership, they both have been passing me around, not trying to take any responsibilities. I had my truck for 2 months, 1300 miles, they're even suggesting that the plate might have been stolen (complete BS because from my understanding, you cannot completely remove the skid plate unless you lower the front spoiler which can only be done inside the car with the key). You might want to double check to make sure you have yours because Toyota is truly sucking ass at being responsible or providing a reasonable solution.

      Hi there, this is a common question and toyota should change how they describe each. The TRD Off Road package comes with a skid plate, that smaller black one you saw is it. Some Tundras are equipped with the optional TRD front skid plate, which should be on your window sticker as a separate option, i believe its a $380 add on. That is the grey/off white one that comes on the TRD Pro.

    Yes I have the same buzzing noise. If you notice behind the mirror there’s a door/flap that covers up the wiring that supplies power to the digital mirror. If you push on that flap while driving, the sound goes away. Give that a try. I’m planning to add some hush tape over the seam to see if that fixes it.

    Hey Tundra Dude. Love your content. I have a 2024 XP Series bought in July. When traveling around 80mph, I did hear something around the sun glasses area and thought it was something loose, but it ended up being my sunglasses vibrating inside the storage. When I took it out, and traveled at the same speed, I didn’t hear it again. I hope it’s the same for you and all others hearing this strange noise.

    Hi Mark, your 4th complaint sounds like it may be the pinion bearings in the 3rd member/center section in the rear diff. Pinion bearings bearings usually make the noise that you're describing when you likely apply torque through the drive shaft that is attached to the yoke/pinion shaft...it's just a guess

    And the headliner noise drives me nuts, I actually called Toyota brand management and threw a fit and they comp me a new headliner, after 2 different dealerships attempted fixing it. Between the sunroof and sunglasses holder the Velcro tape they use to hold it up pops loose.
    They replaced my entire headliner and it was way better for a while but now it’s slowly doing it again. If you gently push up in the headliner it should give, if it does then you have the same problem.

It's the best truck I've ever owned. And for those freaking out over the engine issues, if the engine blew tomorrow, it would be the first time a Toyota truck has let me down (and I've had five over a 40-year period). And we'll see how the twin turbo holds up---but it runs circles around the V8.

That's one of the biggest reasons a got out of my '22 TRD Pro...that awful hybrid regen braking whine/hum when stepping on the break. Noise did not start until month 4 of ownership after 2 months of that I had enough. Especially when Toyota said it was "normal". It completely took the joy out of the drive. The feature that I require the most in any truck is long-term reliability. I was a proud owner of a super reliable Gen 1 Tundra and currently own a Gen 2 Tundra purchased new 14 years ago. It has been well maintained and bulletproof with zero, and I mean zero repairs. I was eagerly waiting for the arrival of Gen 3 to update my current truck. I decided to give it a year or two before purchasing. I'm glad I waited. The ongoing V-6 engine issues have tarnished the legendary Tundra reliability, and I will not purchase Gen 3. On the bright side, I have a great looking Gen 2. It's not for sale, but I still get offers to buy it from random people who see it in my driveway or a parking lot. 😅

    • @SLHJR0390
      @SLHJR0390 27 днів тому

      @ picked it up and it s out of alignment. That was within the first 500 miles. Then at 4500 miles or so rear sway bar bushing defective. At 7000 miles the roof/shield mouldings were flipped up and coming loose, one fully disconnected it’s clip, we had both seals replaced as a result. The rear hatch creaks when slowly shifting weight horizontally and under braking and over bumps so they had to go and tighten all of that down. Now the front windshield creaks on bumps on cold mornings and when I apply the windshield wipers. 4th warranty claim on this thing within 14,000 miles. And after having owned Toyota 4x4’s for the last 15 or so odd years I can easily say our 2006 4Runner felt better built than this 6th gen. The rear hatch on the 24’ sounded like what the 2006 sounded like with failing lift supports at 225,000 miles. If that gives you an idea of the noise. I surmise there are lower quality units that were being produced as they were retooling the lines in Tahara for the new GX, 4Runner production. It’s a last of a model that wasn’t even supposed to be produced, you’d think they would have the kinks worked out, but I bet a few bad ones slipped off the line in all the commotion. That’s all I can come up in terms of how poor the fit and finish, overall quality of this truck is. A quick search on Reddit and elsewhere will produce the rear hatch creak as a more common problem than Toyota owners would like to admit.

    Our 2014 Bigfoot Research Vehicle (Tundra) is still rolling at 137k no issues.
    Not sure the Gen 3 is worth the upgrade yet - wish Toyota would revise the double cab and turning radius and tow hooks - a deeper bed would’ve been nice also. Toyota so close to really doing well in the half ton market but just too rigid on customizations and custom orders.
    it would also be nice if Toyota would present a v8 option in the future.
    Seems like Toyota could’ve improved it enough to maintain the option.
    Maybe we will see a revision in Gen 4 .
    Until it changes and if we decided to upgrade we’d move into the 2018 with the transmission cooler but perhaps the 2021 TRD Pro Double cab and move our customizations.
    Thanks for all you do to keep us informed.
    Stay safe ! BELIEVE

    My 24 limited has the noise i mention earlier in one of your posts that over on passenger side by the pillar. Slow speed im hearing a light tapping noise like plastic on plastic. Long story short
    It was coming from the front headliner passenger side next to windshield. Just to the right of center is visor. I can put light pressure on it and it stops. I hear it most when going down rough roads or gravel driveways at slower speeds. Could also sound like what your describing sticky tape. But the noise is definitely coming from that area (passenger side behind visor next to windshield and corner of pillar. This will be looked into next visit to dealer. It drives me bonkers also luckily it hit and miss depending on temperature. one other issue I've been noticing was a noise from either transmission or drivetrain was at around 48- 55 miles while pushing on gas in can hear a whining noise if I let off gas it goes away.

    My 2024 1794 makes a noise underneath the drivers seat. Coming I think from the sphincter, I think its a sound of escaping gas though a tight space which creates friction and turbulence, creating a Dutch oven effect in the crew cab.

  • @davidps951
    @davidps951 Місяць тому +1

    I purchased a 2025 Tundra 1794 with TRD package just like yours back in October. I have the same exact sticky noise coming from the headliner. I took it to the dealer and they tried removing and applying more adhesive but it created more sticky noises in other areas once it was put back on. The dealer is in the process of getting me a new headliner. Waiting for a call once they get it so I can go back and have the new one installed. Other than this issue, the truck has been absolutely great but I only have 3k miles on it so far. The only small issue is actually wind noise coming in at 75+ miles per hour from the driver door close to where the mirror is located. I did install window wind deflectors on it so I may have caused the window to no longer seal correctly.
    I also took it in for the first oil change at 2k miles. I hope that it helps a little with cleaning up the initial break in metal shavings. Crossing my fingers with this whole engine stuff going on.

    • @G7130
      @G7130 Місяць тому +1

      MY dealer, when I had it was aware of the issue along with engineering. There is a special order part they get from a 3rd party and they take the entire headliner down and re-apply. It was a shit truck and I dropped it. The trans ticking, rear diff grinding sounds. I ate 6K on it.

    Yes, I think your name is Mark. I’m not sure but anyway I was watching you on UA-cam right now and I know you mentioned that thing about your seat. I have a 23 platinum and I’ve had it going on about 18 months and I had the same problem with the extender and I took it to the dealer at 5000 miles and they recalibrated it, that means it worked for like two days and then it didn’t work again so then I took the vehicle in and I told him it wasn’t working again that it only worked for two days after the first 5000 mile service that when I took it there so they did something and it worked again and so mine knew I’m going on 17 months only this thing or 18 months and it still is messed up. It doesn’t always work, but I did find a solution if you don’t if you don’t close it all the way just leave it open a little bit it’ll always work and you won’t have any problems with it. What they do is they put a shim in there something I don’t know what it is but I’ve ever since I’ve been doing this I don’t have a problem with it. It always works so what you wanna do is you close it all the way and then just barely open it just a hair maybe an eighth of an inch and it’ll always work all right my friend take care cause I don’t think they’re gonna be able to fix it. I’ve had mine almost, 17 or 18 months and they still haven’t fixed it
