Thing is they’re not rotting on the lot they’re already well past the second best sales year in its history and won’t be far off the very best year so anyway just don’t buy one. I myself never buy new I always buy two or three year old vehicles that are nice condition, let someone else pay the initial depreciation…have a nice day
I bought my 2017 Toyota tundra sr5 for 42k brand new after paper. And all I got done from the dealer was a drop in Bedliner and under body spray. 5.7L v8 flexfuel 4wd. It’s crazy to see this Sr go for that much.
That’s the craziest thing I’ve heard in a while, especially with everything going on lately with the 3rd gen tundra. Still congratulations, here’s to hoping everything works out well!
When they put the V8 back in the Tundra I will get one. Until then I will just keep the two V8 Tundra's I have now. Too much risk for such an expensive truck. I bet the 2025 Tundra's will continue to have the same problems as the 22 & 23's and most likely the 24's.
Still got my 2020 Trd pro army green tundra. Hitting 150k miles in the next few weeks. Zero issues. I’ve decided I will replace anything that breaks if it does. I’m running it to the ground. I don’t care. I’m done with new vehicle payments and I love it to much to get what is essentially a driving iPhone truck. All these new vehicles are garbage even Toyota now. Plus 90% of the new tundras are ugly as hell except for the lunar rocks lifted with bigger tires, the solar octane and all black.
All people have to do is look up problems with the 2025. At least they have stepped up to an average rating in consumer reports. I want to see high mileage examples for a few years. I want to know the motor, tranmission, and turbos last as long as the V8. I want reliability. Toyota hasn't proved nothing except for poor quality and unreliability with this new platform. SMH you would try and build this up not knowing how good or bad it will be.
I try to continually keep an eye on some higher mileage options showing up. Here is what I found so far: ua-cam.com/video/V7N3tQek3Ro/v-deo.htmlsi=wwA8m9bOdhqWOXN6
I believe your comment sums it up. Great brand new pretty truck but will it last like we know the 5.7. Mine has 157k and the engine sounds like it always has no transmission issues and thats on a 2010 15 years later.
They would make so much more money and everyone would be so much happier if they put a V8 back in it … Toyota: Let’s not give the people what they want and then charge them ridiculous prices.
My fav too, that Lunar Rock Platinum TRD is my favorite. I just want the long bed and the iForce Max. The Mud Bath and the Terra is also very nice if I can find that. Happy New Year bro! I hope to get my 2025 Tundra TRD in 2025
I bought a 2022 2 wheel drive Limited Tundra, the sticker price was 51,801.00, I did buy all of the extended warrant's, that brought my total to a little over 63,500.00, the new trucks are all overprice,(that's all dealer), my truck milage is at 16,162.00 and here I am still waiting on my engine replacement.
Not anything to brag about but a $70,000 truck is certainly not in my income level. I look for lower milage older trucks or used with reasonable miles. For Toyota trucks in past with 100,000 miles were still reliable and capable of many more miles. Twin turbo engine after 100,000 miles no possibility of long-term reliability nor would one at my income level afford the repair and maintenance of that nightmare. 10 yrs from now i suspect junk used twin turbo Tundras are gonna be everywhere. Those who can do so will just buy a new vehicle. Those who would generally be in the market for used tundra will be passing on threre turbo models. Just cant afford to fix or maintain them. Gonna be alot of junk tundras out there sold for parts.. Lol
I actually had a deposit on that same 25 Lunar Rock Platinum with TRD but then swapped it for the Windchill Pearl. I love the Lunar Rock but it looks better on Limited than Platinum. Black accents look good against it but not the dark chrome IMO. So I got the 25 Platinum TRD 6.5 windchill pearl for $10k below MSRP.
@@andyleo8418 Yeah and there are deals to be had on the Tundras at the moment... Even the brand new 25s. Most dealers have disproportionate amount of Tundras on their lots that they need to move. Spoke with 4-5 dealers in my area and made them compete for my business. Best deal got the deal.
@jonathanratliff4780 agreed but they are all way up on price. I know I have gotten that much money in my paycheck at the % these truck prices have went up!
@ it’s because they’re not the same truck. Much more tech in the area this was important to me and my wife and for our children is safety. For example the tundra went from the worst crash safety rating truck to the very best now out there check out national Highway traffic safety administration or the insurance institute any of these fact checking‘s will show that. I feel they’re a better value than they used to be.
@jonathanratliff4780 You might want to check the safety ratings of the 2017 - 2021 Tundra much higher than the new gen Tundra. Crash testing way better. I'm guessing you may be referring to the tech. But no way you justify 30% price increase for the tech...
@ Tell me your source of the crash safety ratings I am looking at the IIHS website for 2021 tundra which is the last year the previous design giving marginal to poor impact safety ratings and similar for headlights. Now look at it for the 2023. What is your source. National highway safety traffic of us ration did give the previous gen four stars and three stars on rollover new generation has five stars across-the-board. Paid 26,995 for my 2013 Tundra brand new. 4 door, 6.5’ bed. Tundra grade. Sticker was 33,205. I’m driving it until the wheels fall off. The price of new vehicles is sickening.
I noticed for the Limited there is a package called "PVM+BSM Outside Mirrors", for $0, and there is also a "Limited PVM Package" for $950. What is the difference with regard to the PVM portion of the first package mentioned?
Really wanted the TRD platinum and was nowhere to be found in my area at the time October 2024 and ended up with platinum. Still love it, but would have liked to have the extra features.
Congratulations to Toyota for selling so many Tundras In 2024! Nearly broke the 2007 Sales record and passed the Ram for market share. 145,000 sold in 2024!

If the new tundra was v8 with no turbo with the same reliability as 2 gen , I would definitely purchase one ; but let's be honest.....these new tundra's won't have one million miles in 10-15 years like 2nd gen tundra!!!!!
I really like the new tacomas, The look is really nice. Only problem is now they're making them in Mexico, quality control is not as good as here. Toyota really needs to think of the quality of the way it used to be.
I was “this close” to coppin a tundra. But at $65k I figured hell, might as well have another house and went 5.3l V8 and got $14k off msrp. They wanna sell trucks BAAD!

The tundra limited in my opinion has the best exterior design with just the color of the truck and black accents. The design/pattern on the limited seats are hideous. If they did a solid color seat I’d be all over it.
It happened a replacement with a brand new long block. They got a problem and they fix it. Go back in time with our big three when they had a problem it would fix it that lawyer up and fight you for it.
I still receive compliments on my Army Green 21 Tundra. The one with no engine recalls and the last Tundra with V8 power and the last Tundra with real hydraulic-assist mechanical steering giving the driver direct feedback from the road. But hey I understand some folks like the electric-motor steering that will yank the wheel, overriding the driver input, during its lane centering feature; if the AI thinks the driver is unsafe. Happy with my Forever Tundra and 2024 4Runner (also with real hydraulic-assist mechanical steering, but that also ended with the 2024 production.)
