We call those trevally here in the states. Same family as the King Mackerel, but much more approachable flavor wise.

Whatever the fish it looks absolutely fantastic, in all of its variations, on the dish!

every single dish here looks like perfection. this is what it means to be in food heaven. i would love to have some of those. i wonder which restaurant is this in okinawa, their recipes seem pretty creative while not overly complicated.

Magnificent Fish! Cooked to perfection! However it is not a Mackeril! It is s JACK FISH! a totally different Species of Fish that looks, tastes, and even smells different than a Mackeril , they live in different teretorries , it is a crime to compare the humble Mackeril with the noble Jack Fish! Thanks for the wonderful Vid.

That second dish looks amazing is that what a real "egg roll" is supposed to be like, it sort of resembles the ones we get here in the US.

Kagami Ulua in Hawaii. Or sometimes called the glass or mirror ulua (crevalle). Scientific name for genus species is Alectis Ciliaris. As someone earlier said African Pompano. Someone called it Alectis Indicus which could also be right because the Carangidae family of fish is large and sometimes very hard to decipher between species unless you have the book whomever authored it and count scutes or gill rakers or etc. Sometimes they have multiple names due to locale and who names them or who names them first. Confused yet? I am at times when reading about jacks.

now this is definatly a good video , much different than the older "Ugly , freaky , yet tasty episodes we had lately , the only mistake is the fish's name ,not a Mackerell , but a Jack fish! i don't know if it is warm blooded lika Tuna fish is but Jack fish tastes Great!!! they grow to huge sizes but smaller ones like this one tastes better , less stringy meat , too bad we don't have smell-a-vision , i can only emagine the nice aroma of this fish cooking!!!!!
