There was a really specific moment when the vibe of this game clicked for me. We were getting towards the end of a mission when we encountered an ambush. It was completely dark, we were separated in a large room, and we were absolutely swamped in cultists, with the howling of larger beasts or demons getting closer. I was desperately slashing through the horde, trying to carve a way to one of my teammates. Heads and limbs were spinning past in a shower of blood when I finally arrived at the veteran's side. I wasn't expecting it but I fell in love with this game in that moment.
I love how this video is simple enough to get new people who heard about rhe game into the lore, but also deep enough to keep veterans still interestes
Imperium citizens, if they are educated, will be taught a mythologized version of the Heresy involving the God-Emperor and His Angels battling and victorious against the Nine Devils of the Outer Hells. And now the Emperor and His Angels reside on Terra, watching over all Mankind. Imperial Cult propaganda, if they know anything about it at all.
It just shows your reputation, dedication and skill are recognised throughout the WH40K community, including the professional companies involved. You deserved this, LT and I hope you were duly "compensated" for this excellent piece of work.
Honestly GW should hire you as a Loremaster, I have always enjoyed your videos as they have a lot of information from hundreds (If not thousands) of sources that you have personally encountered and it's presented in such a way that a rational, logical and intelligent scholar would dream to be able to do. Keep up the amazing work! It's great that companies out there are 'finally' recognising your amazing talent and passion you have for the lore involved in the 40k universe, and it's history!
When my friend recommended looking into Warhammer 40k, I had ZERO ideas about what I was getting into beyond some dystopian sci-fi horror. Through your lore playlist, I've been able to dive in and even picked up vermintide 2 and darktide. Fantastic work!
The physics of a hive city is so interesting to me. What are the lower levels made out of? Has a high magnitude earthquake occurred on a hive planet? Thinking about whole parts of the hive planet caving in is insane.
GW rarely makes good decisions when engaging community content creators, but I am incredibly encouraged that you are on their radar. Hopefully you grow into a more official lore conduit for GW, they would be crazy not to work with you!
From the little ive seen since it released i feel like Fat Shark should hire Luetin asap for some DLC. I don't think its nearly as deep as his breakdown.
For what's essentially a promo piece, this is brilliant, as good as your usual content for sure. Keeping my eye on this game of course alongside Space Marine 2. It's reassuring to see a project in current year with a decent writer behind it and taking some risk by exploring the universe from a slightly different angle. It'll never be Left 4 Dead, but they could pull off something decent here. Congrats on them reaching out to you for this, keep up the great work, glory to the Imperium, etc.
Man, i gotta tell you that your narration skills are unparalleled and not just in 40k, I also recently rewatched your video about civilizations and surviving the apocalypse but also that having the quality of content like yours you are bound to get recognition. Congratulations, Luetin, you've earned it.
The fact that Fat Shark reached out to you, along with the involvement of Dan Abnett, does so much more to hype this release to fans of 40k than any simple trailer release could. Thank you for the content!
The fact that this "product" is always-online means it will definitely get bricked just like Battleborn, Evolve, Lawbreakers etc. which were ALSO made by previously well-respected devs. Friends don't let friends play a tedious game that will stop existing before you can unlock most of it.
Imagine if they found a world that never experienced the 'age of strife' and were WAY more advanced than before. Like they just kept advancing their tech
You are such a great resource for warhammer lore! I'm from India and importing any of the books and codexes here is super expensive and sometimes impossible. Your channel is where I learn a lot of the lore.
I wish this game actually lived up to the hype Also 8:43 reminds me of commander bravestorm, he actually beat a titan in the damocles gulf crusade but was massively wounded in the process
I can't wait for the grimderp moment where the Inquistion kills the player at the end of the game, and whichever character you picked becomes a servitor or servo-skull.
As a big Vermintide and 40k fan, I'm hyped... BUT the existence of premium currency raises some questions about the business model they will use. If it will be skins only then ok, I'm a bit afraid it might be a pay to win in some sense.
I would hope it would simply be pay to win easier, instead of having areas where you need to pay to advance yourself above your enemies. The squad customizer should help alleviate any pay to win aspects, provided additional dlc doesn't lock any more classes behind that pay wall.
@@alexissandoval1284 way to "win easier" is learning the game, not throwing money at it... Anything more than cosmetics, for example xp boosters, premium weapons, etc. would be just cash grab.
@@ang3lek agreed. Money for cosmetics only, and even those I think should be earn-able. The best system lets you earn premium currency for skins, but also have the option to pay.

I’m very new to warhammer lore but I’ve been binging so many weshammer, major kill, and your videos and find this universe so interesting. I think nurgle is probably the most interesting chaos god to me. Being a rotting corpse but also feeling euphoric and happy is such a weird concept I love it. At least that’s what I remember what happens to nurgles followers? Either way, neat stuff
I was 100% sold till the "live service" now I'm prob going to pass until I see what that means. Honestly called me jaded but I expect loot boxes, pay-walling of some sort. I don't care how much devs say they wont, heard that enough times in the past.
I'm grateful for the extraordinary level of knowledge and assessments you make on what is my all-time favorite sci-fi universe. I'm even more grateful that you are now being recognized in this universe for your amazing contribution to Warhammer 40k. You have gotten me through many hours of work whispering lore in my ears. Thank you endlessly.

Dang dude, 2 years ago I no life'd your 40k lore during work like audiobook candy! Great to see your hard work and true scholarship of the 40k universe got the recognition it deserved!
Ratling would be very interesting character wise but considering the the type of game this is gonna be it doesn't really fit there style. Ratlings to my knowledge serve almost exclusively as scouts or snipers. They avoid the thick of battle and dip before the enemy gets to them. I don't think they would really be in there element fighting in a hive city against corruption.
Amazing! This is huge for both the warhammer community and the Luetin09 community! You can really hear some well earned pride in this episode. Excellent work!
This is my kind of sponsored content where the game gives Luetin material and he explores it in his typical fashion enriching the game in turn. A win-win.
Oh no, a live service D: can't they just say "we will add more content". The idea to add new classes, expansions, maps and such does not require the use of stained buzz words.
Thats the problem I have with these games. You can't really take it all in because your teammates are goin onwards and you don't want to be left behind.
it's weird that after about 50 hours I learned most of this stuff from Luetin's videos and not from the game itself. The game tells you shit all really and it's disappointing because the lore is so good. It's like they took Dan's writing and forgot about it.
It really sounds like the imperium needs to stop crusading against the tau and eldar and whoever and deal with the stuff that's in its own basement instead.
You really are a shepherd for new fans of 40k and players of vermintide who are eager for darktide. Your videos are unrivaled in immense detail and captivation of attention You remind me of a ivy league university professor who teaches Warhammer lol. This is a perfect introduction to 40k for those planning to play darktide. Thank you I really enjoyed this.
I'm really glad you got the chance to do this video and the lore dive into Darktide, and I really hope that Owlcat do the same thing with Rogue Trader and allows you a similar deep dive - I'm waiting for that one to come out and am really looking forwards to it!

Man, I just learned about Morbeius and all the meme'ing going on behind it yesterday and I've been laughing my ass off constantly at all of the comments I've seen. Little did I know I would find something like that here... Thanks for the laugh.
The best little detail I've found is how the on mission radiochatter would change depending of the group going in. I found this out when I got in a group of nothing but ogryn and found it hilarious how the different questgiver characters get frustrated until they lose patience, struggle to dumb down the instructions enough, and/or just give up any hope of a successful mission because they got assigned four brutal giants with a combined iq rivaling that of a well trained dog.
Just subscribed. This is insane being the first video I've seen from the lore of a game series. I saw the scenery in the missions and I said to myself seeing these massive cities " I need to know what is going on". incredible video and I will be watching more
So far its a de-evolution from Vermintide. Ranged weaponry was just as present and complex in Vermintide ironically. The depth isn’t here yet if thats the goal. Lack of RPG aspects despite having a little bit of visual character customization.
I love the look of this, and as usual Luetin's content is spot on and great to listen to. Glad they made you do this. WH40K is just something special, and this game seems to capture the spirit just right.
I just want to say that it was a really good decision from Fat Shark to let you do a lore video about the game. I really had interest in it, but now I see they want to connect to the fandom via the lore too and it appeals to me. Big thanks as always !
I also spend plenty of time watching the design of levels and the detail the developers created in my favorite games. It feels like doing true justice to their work.
Listening to the history of the system makes me want to play a sort of Frostpunk esc game. It starts just before the Imperium finds the system, then slowly moves through the ages as you slowly take control of the entire system, your capital planet slowly going from a small hive planet with a intact ecosystem, to the desolate arid planet dominated by massive hive cities. You take each planet/moon in the system, slow molding them to your needs, either mining colonies or food production, or even production worlds, slowly moving through time as your system grows. Trading your in system resources to the wider Imperium for things you yourself cant make

I love how this video is simple enough to get new people who heard about rhe game into the lore, but also deep enough to keep veterans still interestes
Thank you, this is the best comment as its exactly what I wanted to achieve :D
So stoked that Fat Shark got you to do this, well done!!!
NO WAY THIS IS AMAZING. Fatshark clearly know how to pick their lore ppl, first Abnett and now you? S+
I imagine there were many worlds who didn't even know the heresy happened.
Giving an established Lore Channel an exclusive look at your game before launch is a brilliant way to drum up interest.
Only if they dont control him tho, i dont want a servitor i want Luetin
When my friend recommended looking into Warhammer 40k, I had ZERO ideas about what I was getting into beyond some dystopian sci-fi horror. Through your lore playlist, I've been able to dive in and even picked up vermintide 2 and darktide. Fantastic work!
I've been a 40K player since 1998, learning that 2022 is 22.M3 blows my ever-loving mind.
Um are you high they took down all the animators and release shit content in attempt to make up for it
@@jeambeam3173 perhaps you should read what my comment actually says.
this was from fatshark and not GW though
@@javik1929 you know they needed GW to greenlight public marketing like this though.
@@flyingpowder1119 I don't see how GW allowing people to make lore videos is "good interaction" sounds more like your kissing ass
Congratulations, Luetin, you've earned it.
part 2 of that apocalypse vid will be coming
The fact that Fat Shark reached out to you, along with the involvement of Dan Abnett, does so much more to hype this release to fans of 40k than any simple trailer release could. Thank you for the content!
Your channel inspired us to push forward as a team and keep creating RPG supplements. It is glorious to see you get the recognition you deserve.
Yes! I am so happy! So glad Darktide recognized your channel and gave you a glimpse. I always love your videos, it's a match made in heaven!
i think we have al learned from battlefield 2042 that weapon restrictions based on class are a good thing
The fact that this "product" is always-online means it will definitely get bricked just like Battleborn, Evolve, Lawbreakers etc. which were ALSO made by previously well-respected devs.
Friends don't let friends play a tedious game that will stop existing before you can unlock most of it.
When you said they asked you to do this I just started grinning ear to ear.
You deserve all the recognition and more mate.
Cheers!
I'm glad you're getting recognized for your hard work mate. To me, you are THE 40k loremaster
I can’t wait to hear the dialogue between an all ogryn squad. Great video as always Luetin!!
Probably not happening? The previous games had slots for characters, that you cannot fill more than once in one party.
@@Washeek Watch the video.
Uuurgh...? Guurkh.
this game has so much potential to bring the Warhammer 40 k fans a good horde shooter with good story and great gameplay. please dont screw it up.
I wish this game actually lived up to the hype
Also 8:43 reminds me of commander bravestorm, he actually beat a titan in the damocles gulf crusade but was massively wounded in the process
Played War Hammer 40,000: space marine 2 for the first time and fell through a war hammer rabbit hole and getting into games like darktides and just consuming tons of lore. Community brought me to luetin09 for more. ❤
Hell yeah, Fatshark selected the right guy for this Deep Dive. You sir are a legend in terms of Warhammer 40K Lore .... also ... can't WAIT to play a Guardsmen screaming "FOR THE EMPEROR!" into my Mic before charging without regret into a horde of heretics ^^
Imagine if they remembered to actually put this lore in the game.
It's late March '23 and I've been level 30 for a hot minute and I'm learning more about the story from this video.
I LOVE your channel man. Can’t stop watching and rewatching.
I am new to Warhammer and find this video very useful. Currently playing Darktide as I listen to your lore breakdown. Thank you!
It is my honor to serve the God Emperor.
Live Service hopefully doesn't mean "broken at launch"
I’m very new to warhammer lore but I’ve been binging so many weshammer, major kill, and your videos and find this universe so interesting. I think nurgle is probably the most interesting chaos god to me. Being a rotting corpse but also feeling euphoric and happy is such a weird concept I love it. At least that’s what I remember what happens to nurgles followers? Either way, neat stuff
What an incredible choice, the devs chose the right guy for the job, congratulations Luetin09, you’ve earned this
I was 100% sold till the "live service" now I'm prob going to pass until I see what that means.
90 billion people live in the hive city
inqusitor -_-
the city is ramshackle
Inquistior -_-
the houses are slapped together and are built on top of each other
Inquisitor -_-
that means the sewer system hasn't been updated or expanded in 10 000 years
Inquisitor -_-
the city has been invaded by Nurgle
inquisitor :O
What's the difference between a rotting sewer system 10000 years old and a Nurgle invasion? Lol
We're officially working for the Ordo Redactus and the spy was working for the Ordo Originatus.
"Content at release will be substantial, not an introduction."
Well that was a fucking lie.
Dang dude, 2 years ago I no life'd your 40k lore during work like audiobook candy! Great to see your hard work and true scholarship of the 40k universe got the recognition it deserved!
Really hoping they add other classes, like an admech, ratling, or different imperial guard regiment characters!
I'm really hoping for a skitarii or other admech faction member.
If anyone deserves the recognition then it is you. You literally the grand master when it comes 40k Lore. God I love this channel!
Rinse through enemies. Proper rinse out? Rinse out heresy propa
Great game, I bought it a couple of months ago and can't stop playing.
That’s a good name
I approve
YESSSSSSSSSS. Luetin I have to go to work but I’m watching this as soon as I’m physically able to when I get home. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY THURSDAY
"The world of 40k is unwelcoming" the orkz literally welcome it and also one of the things that welcomed me into 40k! Great vid luetin
It really sounds like the imperium needs to stop crusading against the tau and eldar and whoever and deal with the stuff that's in its own basement instead.
here's to getting more gigs like this lut. good job and well earned. I love vermintide and am excited for darktide
You really are a shepherd for new fans of 40k and players of vermintide who are eager for darktide. Your videos are unrivaled in immense detail and captivation of attention
You remind me of a ivy league university professor who teaches Warhammer lol. This is a perfect introduction to 40k for those planning to play darktide. Thank you I really enjoyed this.
I want to get hype, but I've had my heart broken too many times
I'm really glad you got the chance to do this video and the lore dive into Darktide, and I really hope that Owlcat do the same thing with Rogue Trader and allows you a similar deep dive - I'm waiting for that one to come out and am really looking forwards to it!
Lack of gameplay so close to release has me worried its being rushed. Love lore though.
No matter how amazing the hype or the love for the franchise I will NEVER pre-order. Deliver on launch or suffer the consequences.
That said I wholeheartedly hope this game is going to be good.
Watched 2042 right?
@@classvitreehouse3796 More like "has awareness of what AAA and AA gaming has become over the past ~10 years and, pattern holding, will only continue to get worse over time as the gaming industry leans harder and harder into the concept of releasing 'minimum viable products' and whaling"
@@nyansneed6152 Spot on!
I think my favorite bit of lore about the Moebian Domain was when the governor yelled "it's Moebin time!" and moebed all those heretics.
Wait, that's heresy!
Man, I just learned about Morbeius and all the meme'ing going on behind it yesterday and I've been laughing my ass off constantly at all of the comments I've seen. Little did I know I would find something like that here... Thanks for the laugh.
Usually i can't stand ad's for even 5seconds, but here i watch one for over an hour.
"Take magic box and point it at things until it turns green"
Just subscribed. This is insane being the first video I've seen from the lore of a game series. I saw the scenery in the missions and I said to myself seeing these massive cities " I need to know what is going on". incredible video and I will be watching more
So far its a de-evolution from Vermintide. Ranged weaponry was just as present and complex in Vermintide ironically. The depth isn’t here yet if thats the goal. Lack of RPG aspects despite having a little bit of visual character customization.
When you say deep dive, you aren't kidding. As usual you provide a load of info in your vids. Well done
“What do you want out of this game?”
Me: FIX BAYONETS!!!!!!!!
that musical editing of the intro was amazing. goosebumps in places i didnt know i could get them
Loved the intro "Give your life meaning and redemption in the service of the Emperor" brilliant
Praise the Lore Master, but the Emperor would never preorder…
Anyone really surprised they went to the loremaster himself for this deepdive? They went straight for the top-shelf. Well deserved and congrats!
Big thanks as always !
so cool that they teamed up with you, and objectively a good idea considering who you are as a content creator.
I also spend plenty of time watching the design of levels and the detail the developers created in my favorite games. It feels like doing true justice to their work.
And really well done for getting the Fatshark sponsor. You deserve it so much! Really happy for you.
Trading your in system resources to the wider Imperium for things you yourself cant make
lol I finally found Darktide's storyline, cause it's clearly not in the game XD
Frankly, the gameplay loop keeps me playing, but being 40k is huge to me. I just love the setting and this video was great.
Are there new characters there? Gives me hope that there might either be customization or just a surplus like in Vermintide.
Well, minor customization is obviously stated due to the ”imperial” edition, Perhaps well get a new character or two in time
Went to subscribe because I was like damn Luetin is really good at what he does, than I realised I’ve been subbed for a long time. Can’t wait to play this game
Guys, remember: never preorder a game you like - force the developers to finish the game before sale.
