Nice! See, playing in punk bands like this is what kids in Brisbane SHOULD be doing, not walking around the streets at night toting machetes, stealing cars and stabbing dogs. Hmmm, what can I add. A. No Time was, IIRC, the B side of I'm Stranded B. Erotic Neurotic was the follow up single. C. The record was recorded in Bruce Window's studios, in West End - which was down near the old gasworks at West End. The site is an Aldi store now, I should say. D. Where the video was filmed is one of the great mysteries of our age. Get any half dozen 60 somethings who say they were there at the time and they'll tell you half a dozen different places. Some of the film was shot in Petrie Mansion (which was derelict at the time but is now a very up market row) but a lot of it was shot, I believe, in a squat in Water St, or just off Water St, in Spring Hill. But some people say it was shot in the old Baroona Hall (no. definitely not) or the old dump on the corner of Clifton St where they used to hold gigs, or nearer the Victoria Barracks (some people may be confusing that and the house on Clifton St, which is around the corner from the barracks). Anyway.... E. They were "really" The Saints after Ed left. They were Chris Bailey's Van Morrison impersonator revue. F. They named a bridge after the Go-Betweens (which is, by the way, hilarious) but the Saints got bugger all. Probably because they came from the dirty South West. The only worst place to come from was Woodridge. Which was where I lived. That's still true 50 years later. Not the next, but the next after that video I have is one the Brisbane punk bands of the late 70's to mid 80's. The Saints are discussed in terms of their social significance there, if you're interested.

It’s been bloody cold 🥶 it’s been sub 10C every morning this week on my way to work. Which is too much for a summer loving fella like me to bear. It had to be the Saints first up in my opinion. Hey Ben - I don’t have many Australian artists in my collection, but by happenstance I have an original Canadian copy of the Saints first album, also on Sire. I picked it up in the clearance bin. I played it a few time and just slipped it back in my collection when I got tired of the whole early punk scene. Pulled it out in answer to a year end vinyl tag contest, and was blown away how good it was. Thanks for the overview of this great record Mr. All Things Australian. Great start to this series. hey Ben, agreed about the copyright issue, showcasing artists can only help potential sales. Go figure. In light of the passing of Ron Pena, I would love to see a video on Died Pretty and Ron’s other musical projects. Also wouldn’t mind seeing videos on the Lime Spiders and related bamds (Screaming Dizbusters, etc.). Or maybe the Go Betweens, Stems, Paul Kelly. I do have that Dictators Go Girl Crazy album and it's a cracker. I know it wasn't officially released but the Saints had a version of (I'm) Stranded the song on tape in '74 under the name Kid Galahad & The Eternals.

It is great...It's a classic HP! Before you publish on YT there's a thing you can run your vid through to check if you're allowed to use the music without infringement. It's handy because if you do infringe, you can keep the vid and edit out the music. Cheers....SBMBE KOF KOS

Snarling and bored vocals - love it. Did you get copyright? I try to keep my clips under 7 seconds to avoid that - it DOES suck. Kissing Cousins - the lyrics were funny. For a first exposure, I would give this album a 5 / 10…lol. Just kidding!!! Great start to your maiden voyage. There is this one Australian group that I have heard a lot about…maybe you could do them? I guess they are called ABBA….
Mike, I do love a deep dive into an album and this is one of the greatest punk albums of all time. Do you have anything from Lowtide or Flying Colours? It is weird that Mikey Most had nothing to do with this album, I guess one album got by him. Outstanding samples Mike and I have bitches also about why do you get penalized with samples that are being done to promote their album. We need to take it to The Man!
