Vintage Crop won the Melbourne Cup in the SPRING TIME in 1993. Sounds good more Stooges than the The Fall.
Looks a bit of a warper Bish. Like it, a clean Fall as Brian says. D🎸
Super cool song Ben! Reminds me of the Iggy Pop and the stooges for some reason! 🤘😝🤘🎸🔥
Am I wrong to say that this reminds me of The Fall? Maybe just a little?
Yes, definitely a bit Mark E.
Excellent entry, Ben! Jt is a great guy, and has been an active supporter of my channel as well. I entered also, and was actually a bit tougher than I thought! I'll check out your channel recommendation as well. Good luck! 😎🎶 Ed.
Thanks mate. Jt is a rippin' bloke. That's why I went 7"s because no Aus LP's came to mind when I decided to do this. Does beer count as food? There's a lot of that, but I've already done the drinking tag 😂
I want to listen to this to hear how great the guitar sound is and how polarizing the vocals are.
It's the punk I needed at the right time. I love the guitar & vox. It's lofi & 3/4 of the VC would probably not dig it.
@@benrankins4446 I accept the challenge!
Ben, nice one there, have not heard that one, but I have streamed the "Primary Colours" album which I do like alot, so I understand your excitement there. Goodluck, Cheers
Some great foodish singles there. Need to check out Straight Arrows! Cheers
I am shocked, gob smacked, favorite band and it was Eddie Current. I was expecting Joshua Tree from U2. You just keep surprising me Mike I do love me so garage punk. Mikey Young is back again! It’s been a few weeks since we have heard from him
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 It’s my favourite U2 troller Mike! Mikey’s back on my vid, but I feel it’s been a while since he’s done anything except mountains of production work & putting together compilations of incredibly obscure music from the olden days.Cheers…Ben
Hi Ben, Three tasty singles you showed there. Straight Across are a great band. I bought one of their albums on your recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. I'll go and checkout Shawns channel, it sounds like my sort of thing. Good luck in the contest mate
@@mikevinylspiral Geez the ‘Mercians felt strongly about correcting me with the cherry pie 😳Apparently it has to have a lattice pastry or crust on top! If I corrected everyone about Aus stuff they got wrong in the VC I’d be considered a troll 😂 Glad to hear you dig the Straight Arrows. The newie is a banger. I have to make a confession to you Mike. You were right, I was wrong. You may remember for some unknown reason even to myself I’ve been resistant to Fontaines DC. I recently took the time to listen to what many call their best “A Hero’s Death”. I think I got to the end of the 2nd song Love Is The Main Thing, jumped online & ordered their whole catalogue from my local. WTF was I thinking? Frickin’ awesome. I think you were one of the earliest VCer’s to bring them up. I will never doubt you again except with Van Morrison 👍
@@benrankins4446 Yeah Fontaines are awesome. Skinty Fia is my favourite, followed by A Hero's Death. Have you also ordered Grian Chatten's solo album. Brian Embryonic showed it recently. Not sure about the Van Morrison reference, I don't think I've ever mentioned him and his albums wouldn't get within 100 miles of my collection ☹
@@mikevinylspiral Sorry Mike, but there’s a lotta Mike’s in the VC, so it must one of them I’m thinking of when it comes to Van. Glad you’re one of the few defending the world against mediocre Van records 👍I saw Brian show Grian’s solo record but I haven’t ordered it….yet!
Hey brother Ben! Thanks for taking the time to enter and take the time. Appreciate your kind words and I wear the shred master general title proudly!!! Loved all of this, especially how vivid a picture you paint of the scene. Live music and a pizza joint sounds like my type of show! Will check this album out for sure. Cheers!!!
@@MickeyMaffei No problem mate 👍 Shred Master General should be your official title. The pizza show was insane…I think OHS may have had some problems with the hygienic practices, with band members up on the counter, throwing pizza at the crowd & all sorts of shenanigans going on! Mikey is definitely no shredder but imho a brilliant punk guitarist.
Good luck with your entry Ben, another Mikey Young release to check out. 😂
@@berwickshiremike51 Eddy was what made me first aware of Mikey. I think you the K.O.P. (King Of Punk) would dig ‘em 👍
"He doesn't own a bad boy like this" 😂
@@davidatkinson-lifematters4826 Sometimes ya just gotta call it how you see it 😂
@@benrankins4446 Quite right too 👌🏻
I agree with you on Amyl. You kind prick up your ears when you first hear them, but you weren't in a real hurry to flip the album over to side B when the time came.
They were great the couple of times I saw them live early on but it's now a bit of an act because people expect Amy to go batshit. There's wa worse shit in the world, but they're a bit of a one trick pony. My main gripe is they fucked over a mate of mine who put out their first two EP's on vinyl.
I've heard a lot of good things about Mickey. Nice praise Ben!
@@samstjohn1994 In the last 10 years Mikey’s name has been on just about everything coming out of this country.
I’m a dickhead🤦♂️…yes Mickey is also an absolute champ 👍
I have one band from these guys, as you know, and I love it! Mikey is an incredible guitarist.
@@EmbryonicRobot Ooga Boogas & Total Control are other good Mikey bands 👍
@@benrankins4446 Total Control 'Typical System' is probably more up EmbryonicRobot's alley i reckon
Been listening to their albums Primary Colours. Really raw guitars with that primal rhythm section. Excellent stuff Ben! Guitars sound a bit more inventive than you usually get with garage rock. Cheers Ben 👍
@@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf Mikey Young is a fantastic guitarist. I would put him in the same lineage of Ed Kuepper’s Saints days & Rowland’s Birthday Party days. Even Kim Salmon’s rawest Scientists stuff. After Eddy he had some other great bands. Ooga Boogas & Total Control are two of the stand outs. Unfortunately he does more mastering these days than music making. Cheers…Ben
Need to share the cooking recipe for the cover mate! Lol
@@RockDaydreamNation Troll return of serve 😂 Although I’m keeping that idea if there are any other food related tags 👍
Interesting band to learn about 😊
@@MortenAastad They are all killer no filler. Get all 4!! 🤘
I did the 3rd thing today and the woman I opened the door for said "Thank you, kind sir." My favorite band is impossible for me. I have a lot of them. Favorite twee all girl band..Tiger Trap.
@@mistery-ed7900 I agree with that woman. I don’t have a favourite band either. If you judge by who you have the most records it would probably be the Bad Seeds, but I like Rowland S Howard & Ed Kuepper’s Saints slim catalogues better. So who knows? I picked Eddy because it was a turning point. I was near the end of my salad days & early 2000’s indie was sounding like cardigans..meh! sensitive..blah! sad young men..yawn! feelings..vomit! EDDY!! Yes!! That’s how it felt to me anyway 👍
Good stuff Ben , you can’t go wrong with 7” 😎👌🎸
@@craigsandry6737 They’re the best 👍
Hi Ben, liking the sound of the Straight Arrows… punky garage rock. Killer cover too. I’ll have a watch of the Dreamscape channel just now. Good luck in the contest pal, Jack
Straight Arrows are great and tear it up live too. Dreamscape is great. It's usually quite in depth.
‘This Is A Public Service Announcement’ on guitar…. We need 9 good folks to de-Sub the Bish…..666 baby! Hot LAVA!
You seem to be a fan of pasties Mike. The best cherry pie has a crumble on it, gives it an extra crunch. I just got in Straight Arrow album on that yesterday Mike! Part of my expanding Aussie collection!
A good veg pastie cannot be beat. Crumble on cherry pie...check! You could do an Australian channel at this stage Mike. Cheers...Mike
Hi Ben, Some Oz releases that immediately came to mind when watching your entry turned out to be, unfortunately, majority meat related, but here’s what I thought of: God - For Lovers Only KGLW - Gumboot Soup Cosmic Psychos - Oh What a Lovely Pie Painters and Dockers - Kiss My Art Painters and Dockers - Bucket World War XXIV -s/y…and finally, Where’s The Pope - Sunday Afternoon BBQs…it doesn’t show any food, particularly meat as the title would suggest, but just beer with a food related title. Still to get hold of the Straight Arrows new one, not sure if you have seen them live, but they can tear up a small band room. They have a strong following up here in Sydney.
I have seen Straight Arrows live. They certainly do tear it up. great band. Great food picks even though there is a bit of meat in there 😂Cheers...Ben
Hey Ben! Cherry pies have a top crust, be it full or lattice work. And I believe it is the most popular pie in the US. There you go, now you should be able to get a good nights sleep. Good luck!
Top crust...check! I wanna see if I can find one over here
Hi Ben, great entry Ben. loved that blue vinyl you showed, great colour mate and a great entry - Lloyd
Thanks Lloyd. Straight Arrows are a great young band. Cheers...Ben

That cherry pie makes my salad look much less interesting to eat!
@@musicisajourneyGood salad is really good 👍
@@benrankins4446 That is true!
That pie looks horrible. Straight Arrows looks fantastic.
I have since been told it was a flan not a pie. Do you not like cherry pie or just the look of Chook Race's pie?
@@benrankins4446 It looked like red beans.

Shaun is pretty cool but I’m a bit suspect. I believe he is a juggler.

Hi Ben, definitely a cherry flan (as opposed to pie). The Clits 🤔, are you absolutely sure that was a pea pod on the cover? Saw a great Aussie band on the weekend at Manchester Psych Fest, Girl and Girl. Defo the highlight of the Fest for me. Andy
Thank you for clearing that up. Still looks tasty though. I'm sticking with a pea pod 😂I don't have anything from Girl And Girl but have liked what I've heard. Thanks for tuning in. Cheers...Ben
Breaking the rules with 7" singles.....my kinda channel Ben 👍😁👍
Ha, ha cheers Nick 👍Is there any Numanoid 7's with food on the cover? I imagine he wouldn't eat food. It would be some kind of space nutrient for non earthlings.
3000? That's an inconceivable number of subscribers! I still haven't made up all the ones who unsubbed after the video a couple of weeks back. Clearly JT is doing something right!
I know it's mind boggling. In an older Harris Pilton vid he tells a funny story of how the only time he made a plea for subs was when he had quite a few unsub 😂 I think it's because Jt is a genuinely nice fella.
Please break the rules! Creativity is king around these parts ! 😅 The Birthday Party, I need more, and I'll check out your recommendation. Thanks so much for doing one of these, Ben. You are entered into my contest with Sean randomly drawing 3 winners on the 29th Sept. Sunday 👍 Cheers
Live 81-82 is one of the best Birthday Party records imho. Their records are fantastic but this is the closest they got to catching that legendary live fury on tape. Actually all of their albums and the final two EP's are amazing...although I am very biased whenever Rowland S Howard is involved
So far.. My favorite record with Rowland S Howard is "Teenage Snuff film" .. And hopefully I find more Birthday Party and Live 81-82 sounds like the next one to get ! I've got a nice little Aussie stash of records going now..

Hello Ben from Melbourne. Nice way to break the rules! I do like cherry pie 🙃
