That shirt is a seventies cosmic psych beauty! As Scottish Rodney would say 🎵’you wear it well’ 🎵 The Gizz output is incredible. They really must love what they do because commercially it just can’t be that viable to release so much. So good on them I say, they must seriously do it for the love of their music. I’m a three album Gizzer at present and I love what I’ve got. I’m still after Nonagon Infinity, it’s high on the PC31 most wanted list, after your recommendation. I’m strangely attracted to the Paper Mache album, that needs adding to list. I learnt a huge amount from this video Ben. Brilliant brother!! Mike
Why thank you very much Mike. I was trying to go for the psych style to match Gizz sounds. Paper Mache is a really good change of gears from the more heavy psych/garage stuff that preceded it. Nonagon is pretty lofi but it’s an unrelenting force that is undeniable regardless of the quality of the recording. Cheers….Ben
Killer video ! Change of subject.. driving home on college radio.. I heard Eddie Current Suppression Rings .. a tune called " I Admit My Faults" off of Primary Colors from 2008.. really enjoyed this little tune !
@@benrankins4446 Just saw this comment mate.. yeah, some , or rather a few good indie stations here in the Sierra's ! Again.. that track "I Admit My Faults" was killer ! Great guitar track.. if you get around to it, give it a minute, or two..
I dig seeing the love for King Gizzard. We have a lot of overlap here but obviously there's so many different colored pressings that it's cool to see your showings.
Russ sent me 2 King Gizzard LP's. !! What a gift !!!!! " I'm In Your Mind Fuzz" and " Flying Microtonal Banana". sent me these two last year.. PS.. the other Ian Dury LP I have is.. Do It Yourself"
Steve Kilbey just called and he wants his shirt back 😄Gizz are amazing in their output and all the variations thereof, I'm a bit late to the party, methinks, and I do feel for those 'completists' out there trying to find it all!!! Really enjoyed this vid, Ben 👍Cheers John D
Once again, you should win the fashion award for your fabulous shirt. I found KG really hard to keep up with. I love what I have heard, but I do need to catch up. I may have mentioned that the kids really love Rattle Snake, so that is a big track in our house. My wallet is going to hate that I watched this one and part two...
Why thank you Brian. I'm trying to up my fashion game ever since Richard McCook's 10 questions with the one about "do you check your previous videos to make sure you're not wearing the same shirt?' 😂 The Gizz is a big rabbit hole to go down. The quality is ridiculously good though for the amount of stuff they put out. I'm not getting into their whole official live bootleg thing unless it's a show I attended. They're going to end up like the modern Grateful Dead!! Rattle Snake is a ripper! Cheers...Ben
The Gizz are a band that I’ve virtually only dabbled in! I have maybe 2-3 albums and one was that release that they let any label have a go at of their early stuff with the surfing lizard! I need to start grabbing up those reissues as the RS down here have a shitload of them! I’m ashamed that I don’t have more of their records cuz I know I’d dig them! And they’re freaking awesome! Thanks for this! Maybe it’s what I needed to get off my ass and move on em The other album is In in your Mind Fuzz Peace Brother ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️ PS I have to see them live!
Get on that Gizz train brother! Mind Fuzz is a ripper! If you ever get a chance to see 'em live they are a mind melter. Unbelievably tight, rockin' & tripped out lighting/visuals. You really are plowing through my vid's ha, ha. I appreciate you taking the time to watch & comment. You're a solid dude 👍
I don't know KGATLW as well as you do. As I mentioned before, I only have their FREE album on CD (ordered through bandcamp US digipack), but they are definitely on top of their game as an original aussie act. I am jealous already with your GIZ records, but I may add that I have their full discography in digital on my HD. Wouldn't get any near without it ifkwim. Still on half of the video lol
It's like any band. If you happen to live in the area they're from, you're going to easily get the early more limited stuff before they take off. I'm sure you've got heaps of obscurities I've never known in you hood 🤘
G day Mike, I figured that whole wall of vinyl behind you is King Wizard, their output is unmatched. I have yet to buy a King Gizzard album, it is all so confusing. What is a starting point for a group like this? Great shirt. I still like the antique book room the most. Enjoy your weekend Mike, furry Mike say meow. Mike
Correct Mike, plus 3 Barry Manilow records 👍 My favourite is Nonagon Infinity. It’s got the edge & garage punk of the early stuff & a nod towards where they were headed with a bit more prog & weirdness thrown in. However unlike other prog which usually has pristine recordings the Gizz were still pretty lofi back then. May furry Mike & less furry Mike have a great weekend 👍 cheers….Mike

Eddy Current are brilliant. Especially the first two...Sounds liker a cool college radio station to be playing obscurities like that!

Thanks Eric. I’ve got a few variations of most of their records, but thought the video was going to be long enough by just showing one of each 😂

Nice pair of Gizzer's to be gifted. I got Do It Yourself too. Great lyricist & the Blockheads were a cool band too.

one of my favourite bands 🙂 with a enormous discography for a 10 year old band.
Yeah their discography is ridiculous, but of an incredibly high standard for the output. Cheer….Ben
16:30 2017 that's when I discovered them!
the band is super popular around my way. So popular that at first I thought they were from here in town.
You’re sounding like an Australian, except we always claim cool Kiwi’s as our own.
I need to get into the rabbit hole of this band....
