    Thanks for posting, leave for Thailand this summer to study on Post 9/11. Thanks for the info in the VBA 22-1999. Does the VA rep at the school sign off on the form?

      To my understanding the VA rep needs to sign the VA 22-1999. Ensure that your have all your shots and that you take care of your visa before you are on ground. Lastly, ensure that your degree plan is approved. The school might be approved but not your degree of choice.

      I went to the VA's WEAMS site and made sure it was approved. What do you do during tax season? Do you have to file taxes as a full-time student overseas?

      BPD1586 For taxes I recommend having an accountant because if you look on the back of your passport it says that you ate still responsible for taxes even if you don't reside in the US.

      Oh wow I’m doing the same thing to Thailand! How much is the BAH in Bangkok? I looked online but I got 2 different answers: $1833/mo and $2840/mo

    How long u have to wait till GI bill starts?im in Philippines bro and the school I’m in is so slow in terms of processing paperwork’s. I started school already and they haven’t finish what the VA asked them to submit.

      Bro, great question. Check with the VA rep at the school and if need be, have them call the VA education office at Buffalo NY (be present). My experience was that the VA needed some paperwork and once the school did their part I got back paid. As soon as the VA gets what they need (by law) you will get direct deposit and the school will receive a paper check. Stay on your school weekly or daily depending on how proactive they are.

    How do we figure out what pays we get and what gets covered?

    • @INSIGHTCO
      @INSIGHTCO  3 роки тому +1

      Tuition gets paid directly to the school and BAH gets paid directly to you.

      Efrain Arias: How about BAH on post 9/11? Based on my research, it's around 1600$ monthly. True?!

    how about montgomery?

    • @INSIGHTCO
      @INSIGHTCO  6 днів тому

      Post-9/11 GI Bill: while attending a foreign school, the tuition will be paid up to the annual maximum reimbursement rate, currently $27,120.05 yearly for 2023-2024 academic year.
      However, with the Montgomery you WILL NOT receive BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) NOR the book stipend of a $1,000 each academic year.
      This is why I stress to get your disability compensation done before traveling in case there are payment delays due to administrative errors (it happened to me and two other classmates).
