This song became somewhat of an anthem for me. I don't long for yesteryear. Wouldn't trade what I have now to go back to do any of it again. Had a cancer scare. No cancer. Found out I do have pernicious anemia, which I must manage for life, but that WILL be done. I need no one in my life to validate who I am either, unlike 30 years ago. All I really need IS now. Thanks guys!
INCREDIBLE! Thank you Mark Ronson for taking Duran back to their roots - this is an amazing album with the quintessential Duran Duran sound. Nice to see a producer who finally 'gets it'. Not only are these guys still relevant - they were the originators...
I was really into the guys when they first came out in the 80s, got sidetracked with hard rock when I joined the Air Force. Turning 50 in 6 months and decided to see what they've been up to. I've been watching the videos for about a month now and ordered all their CDs. Love it all, old and new. Constantly get this song stuck in my head
Been a fan since 1982 when I was 8 years old. MY GOD!!! They can still craft a song that makes me feel the same as I did back then, staring at the record spinning.
Same here Rory I was 8 when I saw DD on Top Of The Pops in 81. Duranie for life 💝 taking my 5 year old son to see them at Hyde Park in July he loves them too 😆
I listen to this and I am instantly transported back to my youth during the mid 80's. During this period of time, you would be hard pressed to avoid any of the many Duran Duran hits on the numerous pop-rock radio stations. I am not too big on Europop/Techno music, but there is a certain nostalgia evoked upon listening to any Duran Duran song that is pleasantly unexpected. Family re-unions at the beach stand out vividly. Good memories. Whether you like it or not, this band made their stamp.
“All You Need Is Now” (2010) is the title track and first single from the Duran Duran’s thirteenth studio album. It was released on iTunes on December 8, 2010 as a free download. The band were offering it as they wanted to show they’d got their act together after a couple of unremarkable records. A few quotes about “All You Need Is Now” : Keyboardist Nick Rhodes : “What’s good about it for me is that there’s something almost bittersweet about the lyric, turning back from the edge of the cliff and going, ‘I want to believe in something for a change.’ And yet, as a band, we couldn’t be less about that : we never look back. Plus, as a title, it’s great - it’s a slogan.” Bass guitarist John Taylor : “Completing this song has fulfilled a fantasy I have had for some time. A Duran Duran ‘POWER BALLAD’ (Timberlake’s term). And that chorus - ah! It’s like leaping off a mountain into a pool of love.” Very nice title indeed, fellows❕ It recalls The Beatles’ iconic “All You Need Is Love” (1967). 💜🎶💙
Ive Been A DJ for over 3 Decades NOW! (getting old ) but Duran Duran was ALWAYS my favorite group ! Love their music, ! Videos are Awesome !!! their music will NEVER DIE ! in my crates !!! Duran Duran 4 LIFE !!! Never comeundone! ... peace and luv for the music ..!!!
An underrated gem and one of my all time favorite Duran Duran songs. So great I almost wish I could hear it again for the first time, so I could be blown away at how good this song is.
I very rarely listen to an entire album but with Duran Duran; I always listen to each and every song because I know to expect quality songs from them and All You Need Is Now (the album) was certainly no exception.
Black and white! This video looks and sounds amazing! 😀👍 This is a really great song from the All You Need Is Now album! One of my favorites! Thank you for your amazing music! All you need is now to make music like this! 😂

Im finally getting to see them live on April 2nd and I can't wait!!!! All good things come to those who wait right :)
I keep thinking ten years after its release that this album remains a masterpiece because that was my immediate feeling and I never had any doubt about the richness of All You Need Is Now. Duran Duran has suddenly known how to provide an as striking (All You Need is Now) as daring (Beeing Followed) as strange (The Man Who Stole a Leopard) as dense (Before the Rain) as honest album (Mediterranea, Leave a Light On). It's an album you have to play loudly in an american middle-class neighborhood with palm trees, lawns maintained by cool and radiant neighbours making barbecues during summers. I don't know why but the lyrics of this album remind me American Beauty movie. Yes the neighborhood is radiant and generous but we all have vices and we always need to care about OTHER'S PEOPLE LIVES.
This is the best song I've heard from them since the Wedding Album. The chorus is truly vintage Duran Duran, and it therefore has no rivals in today's music industry (Lady GaGa included). I just wish the last chorus had more instrumental punch than the first two, which they were so good at doing back in the 80s, but at least the vocal arrangements do get richer.
Great song. These guys have put out very good music for a long time. It's good to see that not all bands fall apart and age twice as fast as they should from the excesses of success!

Seeing these guys live is as close to religion as I'll ever get. Simon's voice is eerily pure and auto-tuned to an absolute minimum, and both Taylors and Nick Rhodes are just pure gems. Last time I saw them live -in Nashville- they ran into some technical difficulties at the beginning of the show and Simon proceeded to sing Planet earth a capella and that was so absolutely mind-boggling that I am still not over it!!! And now if Bieber could spontaneously combust, my life would be perfect...

Lyrics:
It's all up to you now
Find yourself in the moment
Go directly to the voodoo
Now the channel is open
Lose your head
Lose control
You come on delicate and fine
Like a diamond in the mine
Oh whoa, yeah
When you move into the light
You're the greatest thing alive
Oh whoa
And you sway in the moon
The way you did
When you were younger
When we told everybody
All you need is now
Stay with the music let it
Play a little longer longer
You don't need anybody
All you need is now
Everybody's gunning
For the VIP section
But your better up and running
In another direction
With your bones in the thrall
Throw a shadow on the vine
Bat your lashes let it shine
Oh whoa, yeah
Every moment that arrives
You're the greatest thing alive
Oh whoa
And you sway in the moon
The way you did
When you were younger
And we told everybody
All you need is now
Stay with the music let it
Play a little longer longer
You don't need anybody
All you need is now
All you need, all you need is now
All you need, all you need is now
All you need, all you need is now
And we will sway in the moon
The way we did
When we were younger

When we told everybody
All you need is now
