A pretty good representation of the game apart from a couple things. First of all, basically all of those parts Badger has, will cost A LOT of money, if you were to want them all in the game. I'm talking over $100. Now, there are crafting and trading systems in the game, so it is possible to slowly start grinding for in-game currency, but as the stock in the market of the game stands right now, it will be extremely tedious and time consuming. Then there's the fact that they keep coming out with a lot of new things in a pretty constant fashion, but the problem is that almost all of it costs so much in game, that it's almost pointless to grind for it. There's also another problem that can be found, if you play on PS4 (could be other platforms as well, but I have no experience on them, so I don't know). When your vehicle's power score starts going over 4000, the matchmaking gets screwed. After you pass those sort of levels with your vehicle, you'll get matched up with other players that have way more power score on their vehicles, than you do. The worst I've seen personally, were over 12,000 power score, when I was at around 5,600. This is most likely caused by the relatively small player base, which is basically devided into two levels: people who paid, and people who didn't. This is very frustrating, since basically it's creating a limit to how much you can build your vehicle. Even if you were capable of building something awesome, you can't, because you're going to get utterly fucked in the match making. Even as someone who used about $30 on the game (on a pack that was $50 without the discount), I'm not getting much use out of it. So a problematic game, since like Badger also mentioned, it's really, really fun free-to-play game, especially with friends. But only to a point. And at that point you have to decide wether to pay or not.
If you take a good 12 hours for it, as simple as it is, you can have BARRELS of fun by just making carriers and letting your buddies go full killing machine on top of you.
KermitTheDank I get what your saying but I sort of feel it’s not a fault at badgers end. He’s getting the press account so he has everything and chances are his friends do too. KermitTheDank Sad fact of the matter indeed, he can’t say truths even though I’m 100% sure he could still create hilariously amazing content while still mentioning flaws. ;(

I downloaded this game and played it for a bit cause it looked super fun based on this video. What I found is that to get basically half of just one of the vehicles Badger plays with could cost well over $50. The paywalls are huge and the grinding seems to be pointless. The gimmicks (like the howitzer gun) are fun for a an hour or so but once you realize how long it will take to get anything from this video, it will make you stop playing.
ive been playing this game for 4 months and everything you said is true. even if I play this game for 2 years I still wont be able to get everything badger has. im still at a max of 4k power score meanwhile anyone who payed $100 will have it easy.
Can we all appreciate Badger's creativity with his vehicles? He made a machine eating spider that cooks it's meal as it's eating it, and a hovership that effectively suplexes anything it grabs. I don't think I could ever come up with anything like those.
Okay, tbh, this is good game, but it's f2p, so in order to ride cool vehicles like Badjur did in this video, you will have to either invest real money into it, or invest time. A LOT OF TIME. And you won't have all the stuff, like he did, you won't experiment and laugh, because you will have to carefully choose, what stuff you want and waste MONTHS slowly crawling towards your goal, farming money and components in order to buy and craft stuff. The game is designed around making you say "fuck it, I'll throw them ten bucks", and then you waste a hundred more. As someone said, it is not Pay to Win, it's Pay to Skip.
Reason I quit, thought this looks super cool it'll be so much fun! 3 days later I'm doing more research on how to make money in the game to buy good parts then I did for school papers.
Little hint, you start out like eekaj without a sponsored account and you'll take quiete some time to reach the level of stuff badger has. So dont expect anything like that in the first 30h. This game is fun! But very grindy.
It's a pretty fun little game, as long as you don't take it too seriously. I've had a really fun time over the last couple of days just getting the most out of the armored car/scout car concept. Got a 20mm type cannon, a couple of weapon radiators to keep the rate up, a radar and a radio, and two to three layers of armor around the front and sides and it's a pretty solid machine for 2000 power score.
Yeah it does seem to be a bit grindy but I'm ok as I find the gameplay fun and pretty satisfying when you shit on guys with the cannons, you can really feel the power in your shots with them. Plus I'm always playing it with my friend and it really does increase your enjoyment when playing with a friend or two.
Topside Planet here’s something to say the buyable car packs are probably the most useless thing ever since they only work with low levels and smurfs plus that game only takes times which isn’t much
Yup. All i had was basically a car for like the first 15 levels cause i never got anything that allowed me to do this stuff and that took me like a month to grind for level 15
Having played Crossout a lot myself, I can assure you the parts Badger was using amount to more than $90. You could get likely a single Apollo generator, a flamethrower and one of the grinder maws for $90. As well as a dash of random cabin and parts. Just getting four pairs of the spider legs he was using would easily rack up around $40. Fun game, but the level of building he was using is either a lot of money, or way way way to much time invested.
It isn't pay to win. You don't gain an advantage by having better items because you fight other people who also have said items. And if you just paid to get it, chances are your worse at building and fighting then them
@@toddhoward7649 it is horrible, oh and the lag, jeeeez, it is a massive delay for biased content so you can get raped. it is even worse, you pay to lose to OP bots who got no 2 second delay on driving. It is a horrible game driven by marketing, just like everything Gaijin, Gaijin stinks

"Virtually limitless creativity" I'll admit I took that with a grain of salt, considering the number of similar games I've seen. But starting at 10:25 just amazed me.
If Badger was put in charge of designing military vehicles, we'd be seeing mechanical flamer-wielding spiders walking around the battlefield instead of M1A2s Abrams.
4:39 "My first creation was a..." thing a starting player cannot HOPE to build (without hours and hours _and hours_ of faction grinding and/or buying vehicle packs from the cashshop) so discussing how the vehicle creation works using a company sponsored account without acknowledging (or personally experiencing) the miniscule choices and underwhelming combative capability a starting player has is incredibly disingenuous and should NOT be taken as a typical experience for a person just introduced to the game. in my own experience with Crossout more than a year ago (before the first big change to weight ratios was integrated and ruined my builds and subsequent interest continued playing), the lower rank brackets were very fun; match wins came from luck, guts, and some skill. midrange brackets were a toss-up as sometimes you'd be set against those who knew how to cheese the system via the point-based team composition which was a means to introduce one or two vehicles that should have, on their individual point value, been in a higher bracket. and then there were 'the cockwaffles' - hated those builds. 13:41 the word is 'crapshoot', as in the outcome is a gamble/you shoot dice in craps.
3:58 "That way, the game avoids matching up-" Cuts to an ad for Polaris brand ATVs, followed by a War Thunder ad. Bloody hilarious, better timing doesn't exist.
Yeah... My best source of income were those daily chests. I bought them and sold them, but it took days before I finally got 100 credits. The rare crafting benches cost around 25 to use five times, if they haven't changed that, but the amount of stuff needed for a epic item is just extreme.. And those legendary items are worth a few thousand credits, which is way more than you will get with the 100 euro bundle.
The grinding is rough for the high end shit but I legit play it every so often and sit at 8000ps and no problems facing someone with say 8 explosive barrels because...they are trash :|
Connor before they decided to crank up the grind further by adding plastic crafting was “fine”, now I don’t even bother and have saved up 6k by doing the hard season missions.
Mac 18 It's fine when you can buy a game to have all the content locked by exp and progression, but freemium games tend to lock everything behind microtransactions, unless you spend decades farming or pay retarded amounts of money.
I mean Gaijin (the publishers) are a pretty fair developer company with their game Warthunder in which the first 3 or so levels of the tech tree are relatively easy to grind and beyond that it gets harder and it really only becomes really grindy at around jets/really late vehicles and they don't lock any content being micro-transactions with the things you buy in game with money being premium vehicles, boosts to tech, boost to credit gain, and the premium currency which again is used to boost technology and also to buy skins (which you can also get for free by downloading player made skins but only you can see it no other players) and also buy more spots for crews/vehicles (you can get a max of 4 without using the premium currency)

When he says you will say “oh my god” when you go to the garage he really means you will say that because of the lack of parts you have and you have to make things like 3 wheels, 8 wheels and 1 gun, etc
I played on the consol version and they give you a pre-constructed truck with some machine guns on it, the first weapon I got was what looked like a large caliber AA gun, but I didn't have the power to attach it, so the idea I had for a vehicle was just to go real light on the armor, slap a single large caliber gun on it with a big range, and snipe.

@@vikaskage3903 well, I thought I bought 1 pack that was $5, but apparently I didn't by shit. The other guy says months. Well, I started when I wasn't working a civilian job and had the time to play almost non-stop, I got to lvl 30 in, I think just under 2 months, but it didn't take me several months or years as most people claim. I was good at the lower leveles, about 17 it was grinding harder than before, but still got to 22 in only 2 weeks from there. According to my account I didn't spend any real world money, though I am certain I did, just got Engineers to prestige lvl 3 (basically lvl 33) a couple hours ago, sold my 1,000 fuel and some white parts, finished my collection of rare engines (bought Razorback with the earnings), before I got the last 80 fuel I needed I retrieved the last rare bench item I made for Nomads giving me the mac benches for rares in Nomads and Lunatics all being completed. Personally I'm getting tired of crafting, and you start losing profit from it at Epics, but still enough to craft for a big profit from renting, crafting and selling. Things to note with crafting, a number of parts are cheaper to craft than buy, especially Relics. I did the math, the time I was calculating was 1 year ago, but some of the parts would be cheaper to buy, otherwise spending the time in rades for the commons to build the rares needed to build the epics required for the legendarys to get the relics, you could rent max for the most discoubt, craft those, wait, craft the next tier up and craft 2/3 relics, don't recall which and no longer have the notes, for about 6,400 credits less than to buy. The other relic would be almost 8,000 credits cheaper to buy from the market. Now, I was seeing videos on here with some devastating 4-6 Porcupine builds, etc., but the time to craft, plus, to make relics you need to buy, or join a guild for that one mineral. Each relic needs that metal (not scrap or copper, the other one), and if you end up buying all of it for those, I think that was about 12,000-14,000 credits depending on the part because at least one has a different amount required. You can also save money on scrap and copper by doing raids, this will drop about 8,000 or so each per craft. I'm looking now, I'm seeing on PC: Porcupine- 42,777.00; Scorpion - 50,999.99; Firebug- 51,999.99 about 20,000 less then I was seeing a year ago. Keep in mind, this is all from what I saw a year ago on PC, if you are playing on Xbox One or PS4, prices will vary. But I found ultimately you can draft a relic for about 3/4 market price if you buy the parts and just for that and make it strait up, but if you grind for those materials and build the parts needed, you'd get closer to about 7/12 and may have left over commons, plus several remaining benches to craft with. There is a saying, "Work smarter, not harder." Well, do you find it smarter to do all the math and grind for parts are rate of lower cost of in-game credits and no real world cash, or work a job and spend your real world money on just a few parts for a digital game? Me, I'd rather save my money for food and bills.

I had a lot of fun with this game, but I lost interest. (Stopped playing after the Halloween event last year) Don't let the video fool you It takes so long to unlock the good shit that they use in the video unless you dish out some cash or try your hand as a amateur auctioneer. Basically you can craft parts and then sell them to other players for the game's premium currency. But prices fluctuate depending one what's in demand so it's a really inconsistent way of earning money. The best way to earn money in the game is to sell Fuel a resource that is needed to participate in Raids. And Fuel is always in demand and usually at a fairly high price.
Just keep in mind that if you sell YOUR fuel you won't be able to participate in raids and special events for that day. Your fuel refills every day (unless you buy more) Also start off slow, stick to the basic vehicle design and grind out EXP and cash for a while. Also if you participate in special events and get event specific items you can sell those things for a LOT of money. Just make sure to sell them early on in the event as the longer the event goes on the less demand as players will have either bought or earned the event items.

If you take a good 12 hours for it, as simple as it is, you can have BARRELS of fun by just making carriers and letting your buddies go full killing machine on top of you.

Way more than $50. Those fire barrels (porcupine) are 30,000 coins each - he had 4. 30,000 is like $400. His build would cost hundreds

Can we all appreciate Badger's creativity with his vehicles? He made a machine eating spider that cooks it's meal as it's eating it, and a hovership that effectively suplexes anything it grabs. I don't think I could ever come up with anything like those.
Gromek999 made suplex hovership
Yeah, kinda wish it didnt take months to get the shit needed for this type of stuff
As someone said, it is not Pay to Win, it's Pay to Skip.
so its basically robocraft
Games like these shouldnt be F2P, it sucks all fun out of them, but then again, if it wasnt F2P it wouldnt have a playerbase which is sad...
Well i just got the game and started playing now i don’t want to play it all. Thanks for the heads up
You have a really good point. Thats what drove me away from the game back about a year ago. Its so hard to progress anywhere.
Miraak Dova I guess we'll see.

Nocturnal Fuzz 90$?
That's optimistic
Having played Crossout a lot myself, I can assure you the parts Badger was using amount to more than $90. You could get likely a single Apollo generator, a flamethrower and one of the grinder maws for $90. As well as a dash of random cabin and parts. Just getting four pairs of the spider legs he was using would easily rack up around $40. Fun game, but the level of building he was using is either a lot of money, or way way way to much time invested.

in my own experience with Crossout more than a year ago (before the first big change to weight ratios was integrated and ruined my builds and subsequent interest continued playing), the lower rank brackets were very fun; match wins came from luck, guts, and some skill. midrange brackets were a toss-up as sometimes you'd be set against those who knew how to cheese the system via the point-based team composition which was a means to introduce one or two vehicles that should have, on their individual point value, been in a higher bracket. and then there were 'the cockwaffles' - hated those builds.

@@vikaskage3903 months

It takes so long to unlock the good shit that they use in the video unless you dish out some cash or try your hand as a amateur auctioneer.
Matthew Hilliker thanks for the tips.
Just keep in mind that if you sell YOUR fuel you won't be able to participate in raids and special events for that day.
Your fuel refills every day (unless you buy more)
Also start off slow, stick to the basic vehicle design and grind out EXP and cash for a while.
Also if you participate in special events and get event specific items you can sell those things for a LOT of money. Just make sure to sell them early on in the event as the longer the event goes on the less demand as players will have either bought or earned the event items.
Matthew Hilliker it says “not enough resources to sell a container of specified size”?
means your tryna sell 100 of something when you dont have 100 of it, u cant sell 1 fuel has to be sold in 100's (or 10's im not super sure)

I know right? I'd pay a good amount of money for a game like this, you know, get a full title, be done with it. But sadly this F2P shit still exists, and they make far more money this way it seems, kinda bummed. Hope someone ends up making this but without sucking ass due to microtransactions.
OnlyNeedJuan well its easy for badjur because he has a promo account
Even if this was like a $30 title I would buy it, but fuck pay to win or pay to play shit that masquerades as free to play
I mean it is FREE to play, you shoulda expected monetization if they want to keep the game up
Also don't get me wrong I liked the game when I played. Even threw 5 bucks in it. But I think Warthunders free to play is better compared to it.
10:00 Hanz would love that vehicle
Really wish I got a press account... I sank 100+ hours and have 2 purple items
Tucker West everyone does... I gave up on crafting and have spent months grinding for a single hurricane.
U r very inefficient then
Tucker West same, I need like 100 plastic to make my first. I was just about to make one but they changed the recipe
Tucker West unless you’re doing nothing but grinding for plastic and shit like that for at least 5 hours a day every day over the span of a few months you will never get anywhere in this game
Fuck yes this is pure false advertising he's not said it was a press account I'm sure
Bros playing Donkey Kong but he’s Donkey Kong instead of Mario. 😂 5:19
5:28 how could u not dropped a Donkykong joke right there
More like mad max with grind and micro transactions
You can't understand what adapt or die means.
I watched this after therapy for my arachnophobia....Well, it was worth it.
Therapy for a phobia as common as arachnophobia? Hmhmmm
I had an ad whee it said “I was” and then I skipped it and then at 4:01 it’s just the best thing ever
Damn, being able to one-shot everything as a massive fidget spinner may be a bit too OP
MerlinTheMidget best thing i heard all day
It's more like a Beyblade, really. You just _let it rip._
strap on some harpoons and launch the enemy at mach 10 into the nearest fucking moon
Joseph Payne or the farthest fucking moon
lets go further and send em into fucking andromeda
2:43 "Now THIS is podraci-" BOOM
Wow, that really WAS podracing.
I see ton of microtransactions
Yeah video is a bit deceptive, since they're sponsored they had everything unlocked but to get to where they are would take months or break your wallet. Pity, 'cause it's fun.
Isn't it more fun when you've poured blood, sweat, and laughter into your machine of world domination?
Joshua Jackson not when it’s Grindy and annoying
go ahead spend tens of hours to get parts for a vehicle you imagined just to realise its pretty shit
It’s a ton
14:28 *AND THAT'S BEYBLADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
KRIMZONMEKANISM it’s Baneblade
In a robotic voice "Let it rip motherfuckers"
0:03 I never thought you could do a German suplex with a CAR but badger works in mysterious ways
