      You can make gochu-jeon with the same filling and halved, hollowed chilies, too!

    OOHH I just made this but I replaced the leaves with cabbage instead. It was so amazing!! I followed the recipe and it was really easy. Beginners could totally try this. Also, side note, those who do not have the materials for the dipping sauce do not need to bother with it because the meat itself is already flavoured.

    Maangchi, thank you so much for making this video! I first ate vegetable pancakes stuffed with meat in a Korean restaurant back home in Singapore and fell in love with it. I usually prefer seafood pancakes but the way this restaurant did it was so much nicer than the seafood pancakes they had.
    When I moved to the US, I missed the dish so much, and I couldn't find a Korean restaurant that made the vegetable pancakes this way. Now I get to make it and stuff my face with it :D

    Even though I’ll never cook any of this, it looks delicious and it certainly is entertaining. I’ve spent hours watching this young Korean woman cook and then eat, enjoy her food. Hooray for her Ingenuity on learning English language and conquering UTube.

    I too have wild perilla! I transplanted some because I loved the anise scent. I have used it for a Basil substitute before I finally researched it and found out what it was. Such a gloriously beautiful plant! I am going to kimchi some this next weekend.

    There are so many perilla leafs in Vietnam. They're widely grown everywhere for making spices and can also be eaten raw.

    I have just done this recipe with kaï-lan leaves, very good too 😋 and moreover it gives my toddler a good activity by pouring the leaves into the flour 😁
