I went right home and fixed this for dinner! 😊 I'm gluten free so I used brown rice flour plus I was rough chopping and eyeballing it, so it was a little thick, but was still scrumptious! Thanks!
Great job!
This is one of the most adorable human beings I've ever seen in my life.
True!
First time in here. Yeah she got me right at the cheerful hello!
She is cute as a button.
Omg i just said the same thing.
Totally agree. So sweet.
I remember hiking the island of Ulung-do (my favorite place in Korea). My friends and I had yachaejeon in a tiny village restaurant. It was sooo delicious! We complimented the cook as we paid our bill. She said, Wait a moment, and ran back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she emerged with a nicely wrapped package of yachaejeon to take on our journey. No charge. A beautiful memory.
That sounds like Korea!! ❤️❤️❤️
Mo
That’s part of Korean hospitality. Very similar to Moroccan hospitality. Unfortunately, the japanese took advantage of this 400 years ago, and again in the 20th century.
I just realized, maangchi been teaching me to make Korean food for like a decade now. Thank you!
Thank you very much for following my recipes for a long time, my friend!

The best!
1. rainy day
2. extra vegetables in the fridge
3. flour in the pantry
yachaejon timeeeeeee!
Linda Pierre relatable. I also like using left over vegetables that are near the end of their shelf life! So no waste.

What flour did se use?
I think she said all purpose flour
I made this tonight after craving it all week. It turned out really well. And I managed to flip it without breaking it! Thanks Maangchi!
Fantastic!
Dear Maangchi, Thank you for giving us vegetarian recipes. I just made this for dinner last night and both hubby and I loved it!! Yum-Yum!! I used what vegetables I had - potato, carrot, onions and green onions. Fantastic. The only thing I failed at was flipping the pancake LOL! I have to practice to be as good at flipping as you. Thank you again!! LOVE your channel!
Super!
Make little ones
Just tried this one for the first time last night - I could not make them fast enough! The children LOVE them and it got them to eat so many vegetables! I used up all the vegetables we had! Thank you, Maangchi! You are making my children healthy!🤣

I bow 3 times.
She is adorable! Using her cookbook for a year now, and it's full of flavorful dishes. So glad she is sharing her skills!
Hi Maangchi
I am from India & live in the southern part of the the country......we have a similar receipe over here..... called VEGETABLE UTHAPPAM...... but instead of all purpose flour we use a ground batter made of rice & lentils......add as much as veggies as possible......& make something called chutney as side dish......
I am surprised at the similarities between our types of cooking 🤩🤩
This tastes different trust me. I live in Chennai but this is waaaay different than Uttappam
Chilla
Yeah dude, by the way korean adopted from tamil Nadu so similarity will be there!
@@sayounara1232 same pinch , i m too Living in Chennai . Nd i will try
The similarity is so visible. There is history about a princess from Tamilnadu married a Korean King and settled there. That influenced their culture ba bit. So that we can find so many similarities in their language and food and other cultures as well.
"This mushroom is lonely cause I didn't take care of this guy"
*MY HEART*
I know huh...i really hope I'm taking care of my mushrooms. I need to take responsibility. ♡ adorable.

Hi Maangchi. I smiled at your " Let's flip to celebrate spring." and I giggled when you said, "I didn't take good care of this lonely mushroom and I'm not leaving it here because I have to take responsibility." 😄 You are such a hillarious lady and your recipe seems easy to follow. my halmoni used to cook this recipe for me and my sister. I used to watch her cooking whenever she came to visit us. Unfortunetly, my halmoni passed away last december. Now I have been watching your videos as a way to keep her memory alive. It's a bittersweet memory. I miss her a lot.
"The sweeter the cook, the tastier the pancake," I always say. 🤗
Truth!
I misread that!!! Lol!!! 😂😂😂
I love how maangchi uses her landscape as a transitional/time passing scene as opposed to a plain video cut. And as always a great simple recipe with a wonderful little history behind it :)

Maangchi describing how she loves to eat this in a rainy day is EXACTLY how South Asians feel about vegetable pakoras and chai during rainy days

Yup!
Very nice

Hi Maangchi! Thank you so much for this recipe of yours. I was craving for spring onions pancake because of non-stop Kdrama marathon watching over the weekend, then I saw this, tried to make it and surprisingly, the whole family liked it, even the dip (simple yet delish)! They actually loved it! We are Filipinos but love to explore different cuisines. I served this during breakfast this Valentine's day. However, we ran out of zucchini in our stock hence I used turnip/jicama as an alternative and it turns out delicious too. Also, used cold soda water for a much crispier crust 💯❤🌟 Thank you again, will definitely make this again when we crave for Korean dish. 🙌
I'm so happy to hear that your family loved your yachaejeon! Continued good luck with your Korean cooking!
I just tried this! I used different vegetables but the technique still worked great! I have never made Korean food before today but I definitely will try more recipes in the future!
Wonderful!
I’ve been hooked on her recipes as well as Aaron & Claire. Both channels have awesome recipes that are well explained and really got me in to Korean food! We make Korean meals 1-2 times a week now!
i tried this with spring onion, 2 types of onions, zucchini, carrots, a brokkoli stem and onions and it was soooooo good and didn’t take very long to prepare😍 i will definitely make this more often!!
I made this today 😋! This is my 3rd time making this dish. I love it so much🥰. I usually eat lunch at work with my friends. We like to share our food and just have a relaxing lunch. Because of the pandemic, we currently work at home online. I ate my pancake with a tiny crack 💔 in my heart. To me, food is more enjoyable when we can share and eat with others and have peace in our hearts. I shared a picture of my pancake with my friends and family. They kept asking me for the recipe 😅, so I shared this video with all of them. Thank you Maangchi for such awesome recipes!
You must have become an expert in making Korean jeon (Korean style pancake)! Happy cooking! : )

Thank you for the recipe Maangchi! I made this twice this week and absolutely love it. You have so many good recipes, thank you for sharing with us over the years 🙏🏼
Glad you enjoy it!
Made this tonight for family dinner, and everyone loved it. Great recipe Maangchi!!!! ❤💛💚 Quadrupled the recipie and used every vegetable we had: zucchini, carrot, white onion, mushroom, red pepper, cabbage, green onion, chives, and also put in a bit of garlic. Used 1/3 less water, because I put in so much cabbage and red pepper, which were both going to water down the batter. Made smaller pancakes and dipped in szechuan sauce. They turned out soooooo tasty, definitely going to make this again soon. Yum!!!
It sounds great!
It's great with Japanese Okinomiyaki or Tonkatsu sauce too.
Thx for sharing your version..so kind of you🙌🏽🙌🏽🥰🥰

I made this today…3/24/2022….and it was delicious. I ate the entire pancake for my dinner. You posted this recipe almost 4 years ago…but want u to know it’s still alive and well! And I want to say:my thank you! Only difference is that I added some honey and ginger to the soy sauce. O and BTW: I couldn’t flip it whole as u did…..had to cut in half.

Maangchi is indeed a sweet person . I love all her recipe.
OMG. This is one of the simplest and most delicious vegetarian recipes I've ever made. Be sure to set a good crust on the first side before flipping to the second side. I prefer it with more salt, prolly closer to a scant 1 t. salt. Maangchi is just enchanting to watch and her love for her native Korean cuisine is evident. Love her videos.
