For tonight, my 3 ball arsenal will be Black Widow 3.0, Phaze 2, Hustle M-M...and Pitch Black for my spares. I have been able to stay in the BW 3.0 for most of the night tge last couple of weeks.
Love your content Lou. Glad to see your channel growing. I'm a Hammer guy so my perfect league arsenal doesn't include anything you throw but I do have a Solid, Hybrid and a Pearl.
Sometimes I will use 2 different solid balls and I can go back and forth with the hybrid and pearl.
Luis, loving the content lately man. Slight course change toward educational/overview stuff without disrupting your flow too much. Really helpful. Maybe it's just me, but when I see reviewers like you (also Luke, Darren and Mike, Forrest, etc.) throw strikes for days with every single ball you review it makes me think they all look equally awesome and like the next ball I need to buy lol, but the arsenal vids, as well as the new rating system, really help me understand how the different pieces work together, which helps me narrow down choices a ton! It's always info-taining, but the education factor goes up a lot for me with a slightly greater emphasis on arsenal building and comparative rating. Keep it coming, bad man.
My 3 ball arsenal is Eternity pi/ phase 2/ and attention star. I am left handed so there isn’t a lot of transition but my league is older people and for some reason plastic balls go down the lane ALOT from the left side.
Thanks for your video today. I got the Xponent a while ago and haven't had good luck with it. I adjusted my thumb tape and moved it farther down. My thumb clears a lot better and I'm going to start with this one tomorrow in league as our lanes are usually pretty dry. Watching you and the Harsh Reality gave me a clue to give the Xpo another go...

Great advise. Last week of leaque last week used the following (Harsh Reality) Game 1 score 177. When I saw it go high in the 10th frame I used Sublime for game 2 score 266 and when I saw that go way high in Game 3 I switched to Hustle Camo and scored 233. Everybody else was not doing so good. I just followed the ball motion and friction. Now I am going to Practice during the summer and go see my coach to prepare for next fall leaque. I picked up a Summit Peak the other day but have not thrown it yet. I am in the process of replacing my outdated arsenal.

my league arsenal:
1. Columbia 300 Power Torq
2. Radical Payback
3. Brunswick Cutting Edge Pearl
1&2 are used primarily and 3 only used for burnt up oil or extreme carry down. Pretty high volume THS for league and 42' length, so I stick to keeping my angles closed down and keeping it straighter to the pocket. Averaging around 205 and should be higher if my spare % was better.
I really did enjoy this video. I'm getting a bit more serious about my league bowling and I really could use some more videos about ball selection. For my benchmark ball, I would easily choose my Motiv Forge Ember. I have shot my highest game to date with it (299) and for me, it is so predictable for game one while also giving me some versatility. Where I struggle is picking out the second and third ball. I have many other motiv balls (hydra, ripcord velocity, villain scorn, jackal legacy) but since I have changed my approach and release, these balls have lost a little bit of synergy with me. Would you recommend talking to my pro shop operator?
My bag always has an idol Cosmos and iq (ruby or solid, depending on the mood) and I switch between an eternity, clone, and bw ghost. I'm a lefty, so I can usually stay in the same ball most nights, but having complementary shapes helps me adjust without trying to cross the lane.
If I am bowling at a house with less hook I switch to lane shined Gem, dull P2 or clone, dull idol Cosmos. Same idea, but with more strength. Frankly, I probably use the idol Cosmos most of the time on house shots to blend the wet dry that happens a lot on the left
My first ball out of the bag is Summit. Then gold label or Iq ruby…depends
My league ars is proton, nuke cell and hyroad. If i was to build a new bag it would be harsh, attention Star and phase 2

Luis, how are you? Great video as always. How do you decide what balls to change for the matter of it for open play league since you were focusing on that in this video versus a tournament it seems like you change balls a lot. You can go into deeper detail why you change specific balls what I say for the most part you go with the newer technology, not always but most of the time newer means it’s better? On the contrary, does older mean it’s better? I think it all depends. when I saw the harsh reality and all your videos, it’s definitely better looking on the Lanes than same with the absolute absolute power. I may have watched you a little bit bit with the xponnet. that looked really similar almost in motion. I’m surprised you did not go with the phase II or you been liking recently, the Roto grip optimum idol. Or even my other favorite ball the IQ tour solid plus you don’t even have a pearl at this time. Hi, I’ve been bowling for about 3-4 months with house balls. I bowl 1 handed no thumb. I was just gifted a used hustle M+m 15 pounds and brand new, phaze 2, and a summit peak both 14 pounds. Would these be a good 3 ball arsenal?
I only own 3, just one alley in Maui, lol. Start with Ebonite One Remix - solid Asym, Hyroad - hybrid symmetrical and Hustle RIP - solid symmetrical. Been wanting to add a Pearl since I sold my Fatal Venom. And a stronger solid for heavier pattern tournaments. If I got the VEBO, what should I take out?
I did it sort of backwards as I started bowling again, but I have SuperNova, (similar to Harsh) The Ethos, and Raw Hammer for when it dries up. Is that an alright lineup?
i am trying to do this as well i only have 2 balls right now. i have Hy-road Pearl an Hustle USA. i am thinking about adding the PI or something c1 level above Hy road pearl
So far a sanded plastic ball that was on a whim and ended up loving it and shooting some good scores 2 seasons ago for a whole season. The storm zero gravity which is a ball down from the infinite physix to me and that is the main 2 but I do use my hyroad x but when I need the ball more rounded but that is for this year in the jackpot classic but for league it was the 2 reactive balls then the ebi overseas magenta urethane hammer.

My go to balls is my purple hammer urethane, my storm IQ Ruby and my IQ solid
Game 1 and 2. Reality with a 3000 pad or RSTX1 2000 pad. Game 3. Phaze 2 3000 or RSTX2 1000 with polish
Back when I was speed dominant my arsenal was the most aggressive asym I can find, a pearl asym for when they break down, and a spare ball. From the 2015-2016 season until 2019-2020 this was Brunswick Evil Siege and Intense Storm. 2020 until 2022 it was Hammer Redemption solid and Ebonite Game Breaker Asym. 2022 to 2023 it was Brunswick Prism Hybrid and Game Breaker 4 Hybrid. Yeah the GB4 hybrid is symmetrical but still very aggressive, angular shape. Can stand left shoot right with it. Hybrid balls in general are just way better than anything else. Tons of layout and surface options no matter what the core is. If I'm able to throw it harder as a 2hander I'd go to both my hybrids in a heartbeat but they are WAY too aggressive. Hard to control.
On that note, controlling the breakpoint isn't an issue with speed dominant bowlers. Carving out a line as close to the gutter as you can is. No speed dominant bowler should have a target inside of the 8 board. Ever. If you are speed dominant (ball speed over 15mph and RPM under 300 at the breakpoint), "control" is never an issue. Getting through the carry down is. Cuz if your ball is skidding/laboring you'll be leaving light 2s, shaker 7s, buckets all the time. Feed your ball to the hold with your piddly 200ish RPMs and you'll get those every time. And NEVER move left off high 4s as a speed dominant bowler. Great way to washout right after. Instead just throw it a LITTLE harder. Or, if you know how to do it right, loft.
Now that I've switched to 2handed I need stuff I can control and feed the hold with. OR something I can feed to the right with that I can control well. The Brunswick Twist I bought from one of my buddies should do that. Still workin on overall arsenal because all the stuff I had before was super aggressive and you can't have that as a 2hander even if you're feeding into the hold. It's why they throw thane all over the place and I probably will too. If a ball is "rolling out" at 500RPM it'll carry...cuz the traction is still very powerful.

Louis, question about your layout. Specifically, why do you go with such a low drill angle (30 degrees) instead of something in the more common 50-70 range? I thought total angle sums should be around 90 or so. Your gear rolls good for you, just trying to understand the reasoning. Thanks.

I’m a noob bowler but this season I have purchased three new balls. I usually start with my Black Widow 3.0, but if I have trouble with it, I switch to my Harsh Reality. My third ball is the Hyroad pearl.
I've been using one ball that's probably my problem, Zen Soul that is probably why I haven't moved up in my average and have been stuck.. I have other balls I just don't understand yet when to use them? It's the hardest part for me. I'm not retaining the information for some reason. I have

my 3 ball is denfender 2nd tropical surg peal but sanded it down to a 3000grite 3nd IQ tour ruby took it down to a 4000 grite
This season I averaged 220 game 1, 217 game 2, and 205 game 3...5 person teams. I've tried so many different things... and there's no specific formula. It really depends on who are all bowling... It's a fun process trying to solve though 😂

My first is a Pin up (1k grit surface) Phase 2 followed by a Pin down (3k box surface w/ lane shine) Phase 2. Rarely have to go to a 3rd & rarely have to move much. An old timer turned me onto that with 2 Rhino Pros. May work for you. I LOVE my Phase 2s
