I've found applying to the backs of the seats first is a good strategy, so then you can brace yourself (if needed) on the bottom of the seat during the application. If you apply coating to the bottom of the seat first, some working angles can be a bit strenuous on your back without using your other hand for some bracing.
Yes, great tip!
Just applied this product to my genesis g90 seats. Wish I knew about those grooves on the pad 😂
hahaha, next time!
2 weeks ago I put on leather shield to my new car seats, it was the first product, not the upgraded one. It still smells very strong, like medicinal even after airing out interior last 2 weeks. Will the heavy odor go away ? It's quite strong when I'm driving in the car. Any suggestions ?
Yes, the smell should dissipate over time. What did you use to clean the seats prior to applying the coating?
Do we need to use leather cleaner prior to application?
Yes, we highly recommend using a quality leather cleaner before application that doesn't contain any softeners or conditioners
Is it ok to top off the leather shield with a dressing product for a different look after it cured?
The issue you would run into is that the LeatherShield will repel a lot of the dressing. So the surface will not have the results normally found when using the dressing.
@@gyeonusa thanks for the fast reply! That makes sense. Do you think though it would damage the coating if I were to use say Gyeon Leather Coat or a similar product on top of it?
@@gimaru1 It would not damage the coating to do so
Hi Gyeon, love the products, I just applied the coating to my vehicle! I do worry I went too light on the coating as I only used half the bottle for my entire sedan. Maybe thats normal? I also wiped 1-3min after coating each section, as told in this video and in the paper instructions. But I read on the website it says "do not wipe off". Which way is the proper way to do it? To be extra sure I used enough product, is it safe to apply another layer of the coating 24 hours later?
Half a bottle left over is quite normal! A second layer wont yield much better results. So the wiping isn't necessary unless you see any sort of uneven coating on the surface. The "do not wipe off" is stated on the website because you aren't removing the coating, you want it to soak into the surface. Where as with paint coatings you actually wipe off the excess coating on the paint during the application process. We are just helping differentiate the two.
@@gyeonusa great to hear, so wiping you don’t think would have had much of a negative affect?
@@brandonleewilks If you let the product sit for a couple minutes before wiping, it will be fine
@@gyeonusa I gave it around 1 minute after coating the entire seat and started from where I began the coating. Worried it should've been longer but I also thought due to the heat and humidity here in Florida it should coat much quicker.
@@brandonleewilks I dont think you will have anything to worry about!
How does Synthetic leather absorb the coating with no wipe off needed? Genuinely curious as I want to give this product a test. Also, what’s the difference than the previous version? Sorry if you mentioned it
Even though its "fake" leather, its still a porous material. So it will absorb a coating that is applied to it. Because it soaks into the leather you typically don't need to remove the excess coating like you do with paint ones.
As with all of the non-paint EVO coatings... They are easier to apply and will yield 50% more durability over the previous versions!
I know that interior coatings (SiO2) are safe for health.
There is no doubt.
Could you, please, explain why?
Is the reason that the coating is already dry and cured after 6 hours?
Thank you!
Yes, once the coating is cured, it is then safe to touch without PPE!
