  • I can't wait for you to try this Plant Based Vegan Gluten Free, salt, oil and refined sugar free Bread! It is great for sandwiches and even better as toast. Trying to find gluten free bread in the grocery store that is also Vegan and tastes good is almost impossible. I have finally perfected this recipe and have been making it for my family for quite a while now. They all love it and I find that I am making about a loaf every other day!

    I've been trying many yeasted Gluten-free breads, always ver unatisfied with flavor or texture AND they are a pain to make. I made this today and I am so excited to have bread that tastes delicious, great texture, and is a whiz to make!

    Made this tasty bread without using my food processor or blender, just mixed everything in a bowl and turned out better than when I used food processor. I don't add salt to anything so added dates to give some sweetness. The dates took this bread to another level, especially when toasted. Thank you so very much for this healthy bread recipe, will mike it every week. You are by far the best vegan cooking show.

    So I woke up this morning & finally made this.
    I just had my first slice and HOLY WOW THIS IS DELICIOUS.
    The process was much easier than I expected too. This will definitely be a staple.

    This makes fantastic muffins! I made the bread. It didn't last the day. So I had to make it again, made 2 recipes and decided to make muffins that I could hide in the freezer for me-I live with 3 no Celiac carnivores. I had a few things that needed used or tossed (seeds and some dried fruit that I don't even know what it used to be, so I dumped it in my "muffin" batter-lol about a cup and a half then threw in a handful of cacao nibs, just cause. Again the loaf didn't last the day, with requests for more. The muffins were spectacular! they froze well and reheated in the microwave beautifully. They were also great thawed in the fridge as a grab n go snack. These are a weekly meal prep staple and the bread never disappoints. Thank you Jill.

    jill, this bread is a revelation. i've been looking for a gf, vegan, yeast free healthy and of course YUMMY! bread for a long time, but hadn't found one. i had to substitute the buckwheat kernels with buckwheat flour, the quinoa with millet flour and the apple sauce with half an apple that i blended with the water. i it might taste like dry bland cake...but no! it's delicious! just the right moisture, not rubbery and the taste and texture is bread! (i'm eating it as i'm typing 😍) and it's so quick 'n easy. no proofing, rising and kneading, no starches 'n stickers! only healthy, wholesome ingredients. you are a rock star. thank you dear jill and bless you for this instant favorite bread recipe 💗🍞🌹

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bread! I have made it several times already! This morning, I tried soaking chia seeds first and I used steel cut oats and soaked those over night too. I left it in the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes and it was too moist still inside. But still can eat it! I will not let all that goodness go to waste! Next time, ,will soak in less water so it absorbs all and may add less water at the end, instead of 1 1/2 cups, may just add one cup and see how it mixes. My daughter with Celiac Disease enjoys it, I LOVE it and my son loves it. My older daughter, she was not a fan..... oh well! Two out of the three aint bad! :)

    Many thanks for this recipe - it is now a staple in our home.
    The first time - I made my own unsweetened apple sauce and it worked perfectly so now I do that every time. After the first time, I realize that I needed a bit more baking powder so I increase it. Maybe it is my oven. I have also added a bit of salt.
    I like that I can adapt the recipe. Love the texture. Thanks again.

    This recipe has been a real game changer for me, Jill ... I LOVE it! I have never had good result with purchasing any commercial breads and I swear I've tried them all! Haven't been successful in getting the whole psyllium husks so have been substituting the "ground" version using the conversion that one of your earlier commenters made (thank goodness!) and it works just great! SO appreciate your coming up with this recipe! I can enjoy toast and sandwiches again! Yay!!! Enjoy ALL of the recipes you have shared that I have tried so far! Just a fairly new subscriber.     I just made it. Used a banana instead of apple sauce. Added a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Came out great and I got a little rise.

    My daughter used apple pectin because she didn't have apple sauce, and it turned out amazingly yeasty and delicious. (also added only 1 to 2 T psillium). Thank you for this recipe!!

    I love your show. I watch it all the way in Ecuador, Southamerica. Excellent job, very professional. So I just realized from other comments in your blog that you use WHOLE psyllium husk, so I did the conversion and in the powder form it would be 1.5 tablespoons. (It grinds to 1/3 of the amount)

    So I've had this recipe bookmarked in your cookbook for a while. Finally soaked everything last night! 😄 So good!! Toasted is the best. Before putting it into the oven to bake, I sprinkled the top with oatmeal flakes and Everything but the bagel spice mix. Yum.

    Since watching this video I've made this bread at least half a dozen times now, and will continue making it for years to come. It's so easy and SO yummy! My man loves it and hovers around when a fresh loaf comes out of the oven. I'm working on a variation to make 'raisin bread' out of it, I think I cracked the code with tonights loaf :-) I will soon try some alternatives to the oats, as my celiac sister can't eat them (in Australia there is no such thing as gluten free oats for true celiacs). Just wanted to come back to this vid with a huge thank you for this awesome recipe. It's the best!!

      did you have to change the water ratio? I followed the recipe but it was a thick, stiff sticky ball, nothing that could be poured like in the video...

      @@lindaliriel I have had some mixes like that, and others have been 'pourable'. For some reason it's always a little different and I'm not sure why. One trick I have found is soaking the chia seeds for about 15 minutes in water (about a cup) before adding them to the mix. That provides a little extra water to the mix which probably helps. Keep trying, it's a good one and you'll find a good balance with practice :-)

      Yes, most that are yeast sensitive are also gluten sensitive. I was waiting with baited breath for her to say this recipe had yeast and I was very happy that it does not since I have Celiac.
