- New River Boats was on fire today ! We get a special surprise from the tail tug operator of the Sara from the Miami River! The New River in Fort Lauderdale has many yachts that come in and out of it daily.
It was awesome meeting
Captain Morgan and his wife while filming. Best part about this video is the fact that he invited us on the Sara at the Miami River!

Love it! I spent years running yachts out of Lauderdale. Ran the New River many times. 120 foot broward. 53 foot Hatteras and I was the original captain on the start up company water taxi of fort lauderdale. There isn't a canal I haven't been on. Thanks for branching out Alfred. Looking forward to the ride with Morgan on the Sara.

@@county582 Possibly because Honda largest engine is 250HP and all are made by Tahatsu. Most boats are sold as a package deal and dealers can make more money on Mercuries. Honda limited size of 250 HP does not meet the larger boats needs. Price may be another issue

@@keithscudder7136 I've researched a bit since posting this comment as I got to wondering why Fred the croc wasn't being removed from the vicinity of the dock frequented by Alfred. My logic paid off, I figured he wasn't that dangerous or he'd be moved, and that turned out to be correct! I think they are the only croc on the planet that won't eat you on sight! They rarely attack human's, and even if one did, there is something to do with their design that disallows them from eating large animals, like humans. So probably pretty safe to paddle board in America's croc waters, unless there happens to be alligators near by as well, but I highly doubt people would be that dumb. However, you never know with humanity! 😁🤦♂👍✌

Yeah bro now you're in my neighborhood. Much different boating scene hp here. Here you will see more experienced boaters, less madness, less rudeness, less all out drunk people crashing their boats into the docks. The ramps can be a bit hectic but nothing like Black Point. It's a totally different boating world here.

What is it about florida boaters not understanding what "no wake" means? I would write all day long on the river...
The backwards tug is like pushing a shopping cart backwards, there's more control moving the aft of the big yacht.
There is also more responsibility with being the rear tug, in that position you are steering the yacht for example. Have a nice Day.

Ok Alfred, one should not pan so fast and in zoom. You have to capture the boat the zoom out to pan. See some of the other competition and you will what I mean. 👍

How big does a boat have to be before it requires a tug to get it out of the inlet?
There was a video Alfred did showing a huge yacht traverse the New River. Some random guy was trying to tell Alfred that the captain was an idiot for not using a tug. A person claiming to be the captain of the yacht commented saying that there weren’t any requirements for using a tug. It was basically up to the boat’s (ship/yacht) insurance company. If the captain felt they were capable of maneuvering the waterway, the insurance didn’t require the use of a tug. Now, this was coming from the person claiming they were that particular yachts captain; so I’m not saying that’s the actual rule (if there is a rule).
@@GhostDrummer It's an Insurance company rule depending on where you keep the Yacht.
Why do some of the boats not have registration numbers on them?
If they are registered with the Federal government instead of a State, they do not need to display their Federal reg# openly, however that reg # has to be permanently applied to the hull in a place that can be inspected on demand.

at 11:38, that's not a kayak! It's a paddle board. You sit inside a kayak and if you are properly in it, you can roll it 360 degrees and it will still be dry inside.
