Jim used to do my old mums shopping for her when she was sick he also offered to pay for her funeral when I was away , the boy has a heart of gold and I will always be grateful
One of the best episodes. Jim is SO proud of his boat, he’s like the father of a newborn child. You can see him absolutely beaming and he talks with such enthusiasm, it’s so great to see and this is what boating is all about. The people of this country are very proud of Jim for the massive amount of work he does for our armed services.
Many years ago (1990 or so) I worked in a bar in Torquay without many prospects. Jim Davidson was playing at the Princess Theatre for the summer and he’d come to our Pavilion bar with his helpers. They weren’t great to us but he was quite nice , I was never really a fan of his stuff but one day just happened to be me and him in the bar early on an afternoon. He asked me what I would do with my life , I had no idea aged 20. He said get out of this town for a start, join the navy and see the world. You’ll never regret it. Well I did get out, I got to university as a mature student and then went round the world, but as a business professional rather than in the Navy. And coincidentally just bought the very boat Jim mentions in this video, a Sunseeker Superhawk 43, so thanks Jim it might have taken a while but your advice paid off in the end!
Ha ha, great story. I am also form Torbay and the best thing i did was leave at the end of the 80s. Funnily I am a ready to head back now thta ti am nearing retirement age. Sadly torquay has headed steadily down for years due to crap Council policies, but Brixham has gone the other way. Marina is nicer there too. I am going to get a Seaward 23 and go fishing... “Nick, nick” indeed.
I have to say, it really pleases me to see Jim enjoying the fruits of his labour, especially with the amount of fake news and crap hurled his way by the PC brigade. I'm glad to see he doesn't take them too seriously. Kudos on his continuing work to support serving and retired servicemen.
What a character! Fantastic. That was really worth watching, not just for the boat, but for him. You know what would look really good in his saloon, even behind the table he can't get around? Blue Aquaholic cushions. Just add that extra special touch. Seriously - these 'meet the owner' videos are just great. Thanks Nick.
Great to see Jim doing well, and still doing things that a lot of us can only dream of (pootling about on a boat) AND especially great that he is still helping our brave armed forces personnel. Thanks for a wonderful and very entertaining video.

I've been avoiding this episode for some time as I have an aversion to celebrities...but I have to be honest and say he has won me over! A truly wonderful boat, really really love that boat, and a very normal humble kinda guy that really, if I met him and got chatting on a quay I'd invite him for some beers...I love his passion for boats and his self deprecating sense of humour. And I like how someone who was at the top of his game on TV still has to think twice about the money he spends on his passion...that brings him straight down to the level of the everyman... and I like his continued support for military personnel. Great interview, and a real privilege to go onboard someone's beloved boat and be party to their passion.

Love Jim to bits. He reminds me so much of my father who passed away just yesterday in Dorchester hospital ages 83. My dad liked to think he was as funny as Jim but he wasn't...nowhere near (sorry dad). I saw Jim in the Falkland Islands back in '82 just after the conflict ended. He was doing his stuff in the hangar onboard a ship and I remember it like it was yesterday. A wonderful, generous, very funny man & I will never have a bad word said against the man. Loved this video - and keep up the great work Jim! Love & respect x

To meet someone who actually uses their boat and enjoys it , brilliant . Also Jim does so much for the 'Vet's ' makes him a real hero . And yes I love his none woke humour .
@@clovermark39 The funniest thing I've ever heard him say was at a Gulf War concert, it wasn't a joke, it was a story. He was going to some South Atlantic Medal charity bash with Denzil Connick, and it was what Denzil said to Simon Weston. No, I won't be repeating it here, still funny as fuck and perfectly allowable given who said it.
Jim Davidson, what a genuine nice guy. Many moons ago I played in a small gigging band and we supported Jim at a flying club in Lancashire, well before he was famous. I knew then that he’d go onto to bigger things. A good night and a good laugh was had by all. I love his proper enthusiasm for his boat. This was really, really enjoyable, thank you Nick! Jim is a wonderful character, and I have great memories of his shows when I was young, and the world was less woke. I imagine a trip with him would be a laugh from beginning to end.
@@AQUAHOLIC : Nick, this was a great 'meet the owner'. I originally watched it back in June when you posted the video. I just watched it again. It's nice to see the Princess 61 but Jim made the video very entertaining. I wasn't familiar with Jim being over here on the other side of the pond. Though you would think I would have known about him as my girlfriend of 5.5 years, back during college & for sometime afterward (until she threw me to the curb), was from England. Back then her & I used to watch many English comedians, comedy shows etc...
I use to introduce Jim on stage at a venue called the Purfleet Tavern many years ago, he was always a gentleman to both me and my wife. A real decent guy.
I've just realized, this man was a big part of my growing up and choosing the BBC over the local Dutch TV! 👍 Great to see him enjoying life on the water and what a lovely boat. Thanks too you and him for bringing some realism to the boat owning dream. 👏Loved it.
As your video started, I said to myself "now there's an interesting owner" but then it became apparent that Jim's a well known UK comedian (he's not that well known over here). The whole video was interesting and entertaining - I'm relatively new to AQUAHOLIC and now I'm hooked. Keep up the excellent work Nick!
A brilliant boat and a caring owner who believes upgrades are the way forward to an easier life, something that we all crave for! I admire "princess mitchie" and what you have done to her Mr. Davidson Top geezer!
What a fantastic video, Jim comes across as a great guy, beautiful boat, and a brilliant presentation. I’ll never own a boat, but as a shipbuilder, worked on the type 45 that Jim referred to.
Jim, you are a proud Brit and all sensible people are proud of you also! Glad I’m a subscriber of this channel as I might have this missed this excellent episode! Long life to you!
This is one of your best what a guy to talk to have seen him in various shows & he loves his boats. Seen him on his you tube channel & the entertaining troops so good. Great boat i still thing they are one of they best. Well done Nick.
You should do more of these “folk and their boats”. Fascinating, entertaining and great to see a well used and loved boat. JD has been in most of my life as an entertainer, never knew he was so in love with boats. All good stuff.
Jim, I remember seeing you at a 'smokers evening' at the Paras Barracks in Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush in the 70's. ( Comedians and Strippers ) You won 'New Faces' a short while later. Never seen it before, the other comedians came out of their room and stood and watched you, very noticeable. We were all Old Bill, and you ripped into us. You were and are fantastic. My Dad was a Sea Captain on Tankers and I had a love for boating, so had a couple of cabin cruisers and a 45 foot narrow boat (8) berth over the years. Love your boat, superb. All the very best. Bill Wheeler.
Enjoyed seeing Jim again, after many years.Glad he is still cheerful and unchanged, and has found a passion beyond the pubs and clubs of (Darlington) haha. I’m a Darlington man myself originally and I do understand. You worked hard, your enthusiasm was always infectious and your big heart is what will be most remembered. You look a lot like the antique dealer now Phil Serrel ! Haha. Love the yacht. I’d like to get one myself.
Great video and a great boat. Interesting and chatty bloke. Jim D. Came across as very honest and approachable, as well as knowledgeable about the boating scene. I smiled throughout.
I've been waiting for you to catch Jum Davidson for ages and so glad you did. Beautiful boat and a great interview. Thanks, for making a very dull day bright.
Jim Davidson - what a chap. Honest, open, self effacing in his own way. All the best to you Jim, thanks for having us all onboard. Nick wasn't bad either.
Don't know how this ended up in my list, but what a great interview. Loved how enthusiastic Jim is about the boat, and knowledge he has about it. I was completely absorbed about the work he had done, buying it, and being shown round. Thanks Jim for the tour.
I grew up with Jim on our tv in the early 80’s, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing him again and his passion for boats. Thank you Jim for taking the time to share it with us. Much respect
not sure how the youtube algorithm got me to this video but it was fascinating, cant believe how much room is in those boats, a lovely vessel! great to see Jim doing well and enjoying life!
What a joy to see Jim Davidson, so passionate about his boating life. It was such a happy reminder of times past with my family , watching Jim on a Saturday evening. Thank you Jim x
Accidental discovery this morning and I really enjoyed this so much. The boat is beautiful, so well cared for a set off to perfection. Time flew by! So glad the weather favoured you both and well, thanks very much. A pleasure from start to finish.
Saw Jim Davidson do stand-up about 10 years ago and it was absolutely hilarious. Properly “Old Skool” funny. And not the way you think “Old Skool” is. He had some really clever stuff in his set.
I met Jim at a Charlton Athletic dinner many years ago. He had a procession of people asking him for photos at his table and he was a gent and chatted away to everyone without exception. He comes across the same in this video - just a nice chap. Lovely boat too. Could easily live on that with those flash bogs!
I met Jim down the Falklands in 1983 when he came down to entertain the troops with Richard Digance, it was a great show and well appreciated by all who attended. though since i was one of the photographers at the RAF show he got a bit annoyed by the flash on the camera and told me to F-off but was nice about it lol. He also came back down the year later to film his TV special
As a young sailor on HMS Arrow, I remember the CSE Show as if it was yesterday - don't forget the late, great Tommy Vance... Great to see Jim hasn't changed a bit and a super look round his boat! Well done Jim and Nick!
I saw Jim perform twice in the Falklands - he put on extra shows for the civilian contractors building the new airport there - he was, and still is, very generous with his voluntary work.
Know nothing about boats but sat through the whole program and thought it was thoroughly entertaining. Nice to see Jim fat and happy. Lovely boat by the way.
Jim was very polite to me, he came into the pub I work at in Surrey called the Windmill, with his wife and mother in law on Boxing day for something to eat,he was a good sport and most appreciative, a real man's Man.
Brilliant interview. I worked at Princess after Jim bought his 55 and the guys said he was very down to earth when talking to the builders. He wanted large speakers in the dash which Princess refused for safety reasons. He hired the guys building the boat to come around and fit them after he took ownership. Great comment from Jim about the Princess 21 as that was the boat that I building during my enjoyable time working there. Great to see Princess has grown and are very successful in delivering quality boats.
Your best one yet Nick. JD is a legend, a real mans man, I buy into everything he says and does, I'm with him too on the PC stuff. He does brilliant things with the ex forces guys and gals too. He came across quite brilliantly during your video Nick. Very enjoyable and thank you both.
Thank you, Nick! Excellent review and a real blast from the past to see Jim. He's always been a real friend to all of us who served in HM Forces, not being afraid to give his time for free, often visiting where others fear to tread. Great to see his boat & hear his boat history. Any more celeb boat reviews in the pipeline...? Maybe a 'through the keyhole (porthole)' series?
I blocked & report whoever left that derogatory message on here. Not on MY POSTS sunshine. Especially towards someone who I've spent many hours watching & enjoying his comedy. Again, Jim is a British comedy legend in my opinion....
I have absolutely no interest in boats but I throughly enjoyed this video. I have very fond childhood memories of Jim Davidson, loved watching his shows with my family as a kid. Love his enthusiasm for the boat.

I hope he continues to live a happy life... seems like a nice chap, living a nice life..
Nice to see someone who quite obviously knows and uses his boat and understands the reality of boating. Great video Nick
To meet someone who actually uses their boat and enjoys it , brilliant . Also Jim does so much for the 'Vet's ' makes him a real hero . And yes I love his none woke humour .
from one Patrick to another...
I wholeheartedly agree!!
What a neat character!
Love him and that someone supports us veterans.
@@clovermark39 The funniest thing I've ever heard him say was at a Gulf War concert, it wasn't a joke, it was a story. He was going to some South Atlantic Medal charity bash with Denzil Connick, and it was what Denzil said to Simon Weston. No, I won't be repeating it here, still funny as fuck and perfectly allowable given who said it.
the opposite to woke being braindead of course...
"None Woke Humour" = HUMOUR !!!?!!
You can tell he actually uses it, he knows it inside out unlike some boat owners. Great to watch. Cheers Jim 👍 and thanks Nick.
Not a fan of boats but this came up and saw Jim. It was brilliant. Great to see Jim happy. Can’t believe I watched a 40 min video and didn’t think of it once. Good stuff. All the best Jim x
Really enjoyed that tour. The boat is as you say def of its age just as Jim is. But both look great for their age. Jim tells a good yarn. Well worth waiting for. Nice one Nick.
Glad you enjoyed it
Huge Jim Davidson fan and a huge Nick Burnham fan - can't believe the two are together in one video. Just brilliant!
I love Jim Davidson, used to watch him all the time with my Dad, such great memories. you can easily see how much Jim loves his boat really made me smile.
Ah, the great Jim Davidson still sharp as ever. Really nice to see him again fit and healthy, and wow! What a beautiful boat he's got.
This was really, really enjoyable, thank you Nick! Jim is a wonderful character, and I have great memories of his shows when I was young, and the world was less woke. I imagine a trip with him would be a laugh from beginning to end.
My pleasure!
@@AQUAHOLIC If you went with Jim you would probably come back with liver failure! I would love it!!!!!
@@TyHutson what a load of rubbish you type. Go and sit in a dark room for a while.
Jim is nearly 70. He looks in terrific shape for his age, fair play to him.
Boating will make an older man fit let me you 😂
To JIM, As a former U.K. serviceman for 15 years. You deserve everything good in life for everything you have done for us.
Enjoy.
Videos like this show the true personality behind people clearly not what the media portray but a genuine nice bloke
Enjoyed this,Jim's love for his boat comes shining through, and why not,its a thing of beauty.
You can tell Jim's watched this channel.
He's into absolutely everywhere showing it off
And he did the tour in pretty much the right order, too. :)
I use to introduce Jim on stage at a venue called the Purfleet Tavern many years ago, he was always a gentleman to both me and my wife. A real decent guy.
Circus Tavern you mean ?
Really enjoyed seeing Jim in his lovely boat,a great interview and Jim is a real gentleman😊
I've just realized, this man was a big part of my growing up and choosing the BBC over the local Dutch TV! 👍 Great to see him enjoying life on the water and what a lovely boat. Thanks too you and him for bringing some realism to the boat owning dream. 👏Loved it.
Brilliant episode. I didn't realise how incredibly knowledgeable Jim Davidson was about yachts. A genuine enthusiast!
Awesome, welcome aboard! :)
He’s not woke so not on tv much
Saturday night will never be the same again without the real warmth and honesty of the performers of the time.
A brilliant boat and a caring owner who believes upgrades are the way forward to an easier life, something that we all crave for! I admire "princess mitchie" and what you have done to her Mr. Davidson Top geezer!
@@allysonhanks9159 not at all Allyson I'm flattered.
I can't believe you didn't do a "Nick, Nick" joke Jim!
Stunning bit of kit absolutely stunning.
Fantastic. Beautifully presented and a great insight into Jim and the work he does for the veterans. Thank you so much.
All good stuff.
yeah like my dinghy i used to get to the uk
I actually had no idea that Jim Davidson was in to boats. I’ve been a fan of his since the 70s and I’m delighted that I came across this video
Great video and a great boat. Interesting and chatty bloke. Jim D. Came across as very honest and approachable, as well as knowledgeable about the boating scene. I smiled throughout.
Beautiful boat . Jim Davidson is a legend does so much for the troops huge respect .
Why do all troops have to like Jim Davidson? My friend is in the army and prefers Jack Whitehall?
What a smashing humble guy Jim is, I could sit and listen to him for many hours
Go on Jim top bloke
I've been waiting for you to catch Jum Davidson for ages and so glad you did. Beautiful boat and a great interview. Thanks, for making a very dull day bright.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Welcome aboard!
What a joy to see Jim Davidson, so passionate about his boating life. It was such a happy reminder of times past with my family , watching Jim on a Saturday evening. Thank you Jim x
I love that Jim's a fan of this channel, brilliant. I think this might be your best owner video yet. Loved every minute.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jim Davidson. Boating legend. Well done for getting him on Nick.
Love how enthusiastic he is. Great when you see someone discussing their passion.
Accidental discovery this morning and I really enjoyed this so much. The boat is beautiful, so well cared for a set off to perfection. Time flew by! So glad the weather favoured you both and well, thanks very much. A pleasure from start to finish.
Thank you. Welcome aboard!
I love Jim and he deserves his boys toys, a good hard worker, a heart of gold and honest talker.
Loved how passionate Jim is about his boat, he also has made lots of money for some great charities
Great episode & as a veteran I am very grateful for everything Jim has done & is doing for the veterans community.
Shows the passion and enjoyment he has for his boat and boating in general
A fabulous interview with a man who I’d happily listen to all day long.
Well done and thanks to both of you.
Very enjoyable viewing.
Gad you enjoyed it 🙂
Jim's always been a real person, I'm glad he's indulged in his hobbies he looks really happy
That's it, a real person, not many of them on TV anymore.
@@danielgarner1959 true, and he accepts his past flaws but he looks well
Thank you, Nick!
That's a cool boat, love the utility room off of the galley.
And Jim, British comedy legend.
Great video....

Much appreciated!
