@@CreditCardCaptain what makes the nose go under the roller like that. I see it happen a lot. Is it the trailer is too deep in the water. I don’t have a boat by the way.
I can't fault the guy. I was lucky that I spent my entire childhood growing up around boats. Started off cleaning the boat...throwing anchors.......changing water pumps out and other repairs...backing the trailer and finally my dad let me take the boat out by myself. I knew a boat in and out at that point. This poor guy was trying to learn it all at once
Me too brother. But I got to say I was watching these kinds of videos for a few months before then even. And it is stressful and anxiety inducing event the first few times you go to the ramp. Definitely go when there’s no one else there during the middle of the week because the weekend is an anxiety attack waiting to happen. But it just takes practice patients and a few times grabbing your balls and just doing it.
I love this 2nd channel. I also love the pressure that guy must be feeling to be loading a boat on the trailer (for what i assume is the first time), while a dude is standing there watching AND filming. Lol. I don't know why, but this channel is really entertaining (and if every failure is a lesson, highly educational).
Dude, this is the best commentary on this and the best example to comment on. This gentleman has never owned a boat. You are spot on with all your advice. I grew up in pompano beach at 14st boat ramps . They were the steepest grade ramps in the state for many years until about 12 yrs ago . My friends and i would go sit at the benches by the ramps and laugh our ass off for hours.
Great channel! My biggest complaint at the launch is the people that wait in line for 1/2 hour to launch then after they have the dock blocked load up the boat with cheetoes, food and beer. Seriously? Could you have not done that when your were in line? Or maybe at home? Takes me 3-5 minutes to launch, park and be gone.
Always wanted to just have a guy there with a super strong fire hose. Peeps start loading at the ramp, blast em rt off that ramp Man would that be satisfying
Almost saw a few fights here in Clearwater last weekend because of this. You’ve also got a new breed of boater that have no idea what they’re doing. I call them the “Covid captains”. I can't count the number of times, while waiting in line at the ramp, I've offered to back the boat down the ramp for a frustrated lady. They are always more than willing to let 'some dude' hop in the seat of their old man's Hummer or crew cab dually and back their new day cruiser down the ramp. If you do this you can expect a round of applause when you run back up the ramp to your rig.
At least the wife didn't accidentally let the truck go into the lake! I've seen a billion videos of cars being pulled out of the dock. At least they're squeaky clean!
New boat owner probably first time out on it! Takes me maybe 5 mins to launch and retrieve, at the age of 16 but helps when you grow up around boats since 6 months old! Learning how to back trailers up at 12! There is a sweet spot when doing this
The strap and hook ALWAYS goes under the roller as he did. The boat eyelet and strap hook should butt up against the underside of the roller. This will act as a stop and prevent the boat from flying off the trailer when driving and coming to a sudden stop on the freeway. Had he backed the trailer back slightly where the back of the boat is still floating, it would be easier to completely winch the boat up fully. Transom tie down straps are required as well. (I have a twin engine 29 foot boat and a bunk bed trailer, I just drive the boat up to where the eyelet meets the roller.) With practice, driving a boat fully onto a trailer is the easiest way to load a boat...one minute and done! Since I launch and retrieve my boat solo, I just drive my boat off the trailer when unloading/ drive on to load. This dude had a tow vehicle driver, so when unloading, the driver can just tap the brakes and the boat will just float off. With practice you gain experience, and with experience you gain skills....so practice a few times during each outing. The same could be said about docking a boat...practice... and learn about the effects of wind and current. I had been boating for over 35 years, I seen it all. Sad to say that many people these days have money to purchase a boat, but lack the common sense to operate one.

Man, I can't imagine how the winch is so hard to figure out. Just some folks don't have the common sense. It does take some trial and error on where to position your trailer so it will come over the winch rollers, but that can change depending on the steepness of the ramp as well.

That's my thought, but the design of the boat does make it difficult to do different. But ya, having a setup with that small of a boat that basically requires being power loaded is kinda ridiculous.
Years ago, I bought a wave rider and trailer and practiced with all the moving parts long before I put it in the water. And spent some time in a Walmart parking lot backing it up just I could do things right at the ramp.
It is amazing to watch boat retrievals. We have lots of beach launch areas out from where I live, pure open beach retrievals and quite often the wind is up a little and the waves up to 3 or 4 feet in height by the time they return from fishing trips. My wife and I saw 3 Toyota Land Cruisers get almost totally swamped because of inexperience by skippers and their friends. All 3 were guys trying to drive the boats on trailers that were not drive on trailers and by the time they had the boat onto the trailer the vehicle just bogged down to the axles with waves coming over the back of the vehilcle. One of the Cruisers was spinning the rear wheels and the young guy hadn't engaged 4 wheel drive. Why does everyone think you have to sink your trailer? Maybe get a trailer with adequate rollers and winch it into place. I always stopped just before the rear axle touched the water and let the winch and rollers do their job.

Is it too much for you to let them know they left their lines on the dock? You gave them directions on getting the boat on the trailer so why not tell them they left their lines? As a fellow boater you should have
Put your hand at the bottom of the wheel. Watch your driver mirror. In the mirror if you want the trailer to go left. Move your hand left. That how I teach
Man, my jetboat floats shallow. You don't have to drag it up there. It's got a rubber V-block with a steel bracket that moves up and down. I just bump the block, hop up there lift the bracket to the nose ring and pin it with a quick clip. The only issue I had to deal with was installing guide poles on the rear steps of the fenders on the trailer due to cross currents at the ramp. If the stern drifts, you're screwed.
Lol does any of these people know what a wench does? On a bunk trailer you dump the trailer in to get them wet then pull out so the front of the bunks are out of the water a foot or so. Then tie on the wench and crank away. Perfect every time.

All I can say is get a power winch. Makes life really easy.
This one made my anxiety act up! 😆
Wait till
Todays video At 3
Prob later today. Been swamped
That was painful to watch. Guess he'll get it after a few tries
He is the reason world leaders say "You will own nothing and be happy!"
Always read any material that is provided on launching and recovery!
Man, the guy with the winch was painful to watch. I bet he has Velcro straps on his shoes😂😂😂
How did he get the it in the water in the first place? Good thing the girl is driving 😂
How do you get those two snake bites on the front. That's a mean way to rub it in. lol
Just a comment... when they are on a boat they are called lines, in the store they are ropes.
Wow poor dude, should of had a boater go with teach him,,nice setup
That boat has a bezel like a smartphone not a rail lol.
Back the trailer next to the dock. Load it w/o power loading. It’s easier.
What tickles me is these people with the trailer in to deep to match the bow roller with the boat's bow just cannot figure out what the problem is.
15 bass boats would be off water in that time frame. Ha ha
Can you imagine how this would go if the water was not dead calm and there was a stiff breeze? 😱
I just wanted to let you know that this concept is amazing! I could watch these all day. Your voice is perfect for this sorta stuff, and they are just hilarious. Thank’s to you and your family for everything you do! ✌️
Is it too much for you to let them know they left their lines on the dock? You gave them directions on getting the boat on the trailer so why not tell them they left their lines? As a fellow boater you should have
Didn’t see it until after. Thanks for the common sense tip. Just so you know my narration is after the fact.
I can remember the first time I tryed to back up a trailer. Not good. Stuck with it tell I got it.
Put your hand at the bottom of the wheel. Watch your driver mirror. In the mirror if you want the trailer to go left. Move your hand left. That how I teach
Know your boat and trailer and know your ramp and most importantly know the ability of yourself and your vehicle
Know thy limits.
Bro this is how I feel when handling a new gun. That is why I ask everything before I walk away with my purchase. Then I practice using it.
Lol does any of these people know what a wench does? On a bunk trailer you dump the trailer in to get them wet then pull out so the front of the bunks are out of the water a foot or so. Then tie on the wench and crank away. Perfect every time.
