They may have demolished the house, but the great memories of your visits with Ms. Winters can never be taken away.
It should have not become a teardown😢😢😢
History destroyed😢😢😢😢
I’m so sorry, Jordan! How admirable of Carson to pay her more.
Hi Jordan … it’s so sad to see places with history be demolished. Her home and her family were precious to her and you were too. The memories and the love are always with you. What a treasure that you were meant to be friends with her. Thank you for sharing this today!
That's so sad. We've become such a throwaway society: get rid of the old and replace it with new, instead of repairing and working with something and making it beautiful again. Her soul will always be part of that property.
I so agree- the house could have easily been beautiful again and I thought it was lovely as it was-
Well said.
I agree 💯
You're so fortunate to have those memories of Shelley. I could listen to you talk about her for hours.
They may be able to erase her home, but they will never erase our memories of Shelley Winters.
She was such a beautiful icon. I’m glad you came into her life and gave you both joy
Thank you for this update. This is disgusting. They are destroying history. Jordan I am sorry I know how much Shelly meant to you. Sending Love.
Your memory of her can never be taken away. Much respect, Jordan.
Everything is history. This isn’t any more so just knowing who lived there
From a business stand they see $$$$$ that can be made instead of an empty house..
@@thedbcooperforum I totally agree with you.
Glad you have the previous video that shows the house prior to it being demolished...thanks to you there will always be a record of it.
I am sorry, Jordan! In my life I have seen so many homes, buildings and landscapes destroyed. It is all so sad. My Dad and Mom were out there in the 1930s and early 1940s. Their descriptions of lemon and orange groves; old California were awesome. Not much of it left or respected. Thank you, for the update!
And unfortunately the same thing has been happening in my home state of Florida at a unprecedented accelerated rate in recent times.
Some of my mother's family were CA orange and lemon growers, and others worked on an old cattle and horse ranch that is long gone as are many of the little citrus farmers. It's all corporate big ag and south of the border crime there now, pretty much.
FYI: California still feeds the nation....The Central Valley and much of California has plenty of agriculture...
It’s heartbreaking that Shelley’s beloved home got totally demolished. Too many historic buildings have gotten destroyed instead of preserved. So glad you made that video when you did while the home was still there for you to film it. You still have all those memories of your friendship with Shelley. You came into each other’s lives at just the right time. She was very wise. Thank you for the update. God keep on blessing you in your life.
They can't take the memories and the wonderful footage you have of Shelly's home. Thank you for sharing these. I'm glad she had you Jordan. It's very touching. Great story about Johnny.
I know she helped shape the person you are today. We meet people for a reason or a season, and she greatly affected you and so many during her long career and life. I'm sad to see LA changing. She always seemed to take care of everyone in her life. I love how fiercely she talks about how Marilyn was intelligent and strong. That's not how the media sees her, but Shelly knew differently. Hope your family is doing ok.
Shelley's prediction regarding her home being demolished was (sadly) correct. However, your respect, friendship and love for Shelley has led you to produce several vlogs on the location, the design and the good memories she shared with in those walls. Thanks to you Shelley's home will live on in Hollywood history long after the new construction that will replace it has turned to dust.
Many thanks for sharing all your amazing memories of Shelley.
These vlogs are helping to keep Shelley’s memory alive, and introducing her to a younger generation. I know she’d be proud of the work you’re doing ♥️
Jordan's vids have changed my originally (& based on very little) impression of Winters. I read an account where someone claimed they had seen Winters at a coffee-shop type restaurant late one night. The observer described her as acting like a (to paraphrase) jerk. The person said it was sad to see a major celebrity end up like that. Based on very little, it affected my image of the actress. But the way Winters kept her parents in her life &, more recently, Jordan, is a reminder that anecdotal stories are either outright false or capture only a small glimpse of any person. Even if true, just about all people have their lousy moments & on occasion will act like an a--h---. Shelly's good side certainly must have outweighed any idiosyncrasies she had---which most folks have too.
I can never get enough of the Shelley Winters stories (and old Hollywood). You keep her memory alive. Hope your grandfather is doing well!!
We all know how much you cared. Thank you for this.
I am from England, I respected shelly. But during that interview with shelly and Oliver Reed I'm afraid to say she was bang out of line. She constantly interupted the interview, she poured whisky over him to mock him. How dare she! Everyone knew Oliver had demons with alcohol, how dare she do such a thing. She wanted that interview all about her when it was a Oliver reeds interview. He was fine actor, he had his demonds, I am proud to be Brittish, and proud of our actors who infulance you Americans.
@@mail4moy this may be true but in my heart let the dead go. Leave it at her grave. It's hers to answer for not us. We really don't know what happened behind the scenes.
@@mail4moy Unfortunately most of the time it was all about Shelley....
Rest In Peace Shelley’s House. I’ve known for years the special relationship you and Shelley had. I learned much about her and her house through you! Thanks for sharing!
Back in the early 80's I worked on Little Santa Monica Bl. installing mobile phones in cars. It was probably within two blocks of there and there was also a Wonder Bread bakery down the street and we smelled them baking all day long. I probably passed her house thousands of times and never knew it. Sad when progress takes down the past. Thanks for the vid.
Very sad how these historically significant structures disappear. You loved each other so much; kind of like a grandma/grandkid.
My grandfather told me a long time ago that buildings do not matter. It's the people who live in those buildings that matter. You have your memories. This demolition cannot take those experience's away.
This is always depressing. They recently did the same thing with Betty White's last residence. When I lived in West Hollywood in the 60's, I would always see Shelley driving around in her Cadillac convertable and wearing a khaftan ! She was so much fun and definately one of the finest actresses around.
She was such a down to earth person. In a previous vid, I shared the story of how we met her while she was filming "Tentacles" at our hotel. She was accidentally locked out of her room after a day's shoot, and was just sitting on the hallway floor in front of her room.
When we first offered her help, we didn't know it was Shelley. She was appreciative and nice, and acted just like any other person locked out of a room by accident (except that most people probably wouldn't sit down on the hallway floor.)
Some changes just suck, we just visited our home town and our house was also plowed down. Saddens your heart.
Hi Jordan, it's always sad when places you have known for years are no longer there. Thankfully we all have our memories of these places and if we are lucky enough, some momentoes. Great vlog Jordan.
Shelley was a hoot! I loved her as Roseanne & Jackie's grandmother. May she rest in peace. Thanks for the update Jordan.
I am so sorry! Very sad, indeed! You will always have your memories. In the USA, they tear so many things down. I look at the UK and they have great history. I am happy you brought a true great friendship to Shelly and she mentored you as well.
12:24 She was a true Treasure and you enriched her life as well as she yours for lasting great memories Jordan. My whole family loved Shelly.
I enjoy all your Hollywood stories.
Awe, that is so sad to see Jordan. I saw the video that you made about a month ago, when you stopped at the house. The story of how you met her was really fascinating. I wish that you could have been given a brick from the house when they took it down. So very sorry.
So sad to hear this. I know how much she meant to you, not just as a fan of old Hollywood, but since you GENUINELY knew her and befriended her in her later years.
It’s understandable that those feelings would transfer to an inanimate object like her house.
You’re a sensitive person and pick up on these things, and that’s why we all enjoy your videos and the true passion you show on all your adventures.
Been a fan since I ran into your vids long ago, talking about Bukowski’s old haunts.
Even though you’ve since moved away, glad to see you still doing great things like a Route 66 tour with another great vlogger/tour guide, Scott Michaels from Dearly Departed.
Well done Jordan. Growing up in this area from the 1950s through the 1980s with all these stars, I would meet many either on a sidewalk, Pat Paulson, or driving a Red Cadilac through an alley, Harvey Korman. Just to name a few I have met. Sad to see her home gone now. Yes, it would have been nice to get a part of it as a wonderful memento. You made her life a little happier each time you visited an aging star and she gave you many memories to share with us. It's amazing how each one of us can touch the life of another that can last a lifetime.
Hey Jordan, so sorry to see buildings that represent so much more than wood and bricks, just get demolished. It’s almost like the person never existed. 😢 ✌🏻
Fascinating story about the house and your time there with the wonderful actress Shelley Winters. It's a shame no on wants to preserve these older homes and buildings. Generic monstrosity buildings being built- yuck! Thanks for sharing Jordan! 😊☺️🥰❤️🌴🦩☀️
Hi Jordan and the handsome JAI❤️❤️❤️. I am sure She is so proud of you. She is smiling down on you. It is so sad that her house is gone. She is Hollywood royalty.
I'm sure she's so proud of him! Jordan puts light into the world & Jah, too🤩
@@robinchipman6746 yup he is a light in the world
I actually met and spoke with Shelly back in the early seventies, it was her Birthday and I was invited to her party via a mutual friend…..I have never forgot this lovely lady, a STAR on SO many levels….Rest in Peace dear lady. 🥰🇬🇧🥰
Jordan, what a kind beautiful tribute you gave to your beloved friend Shelly Winters. Her presence will be with you always. We recently watched her movie, "Wild in the Streets." What a treasure.
It's so cool that gorgeous legendary blonde Shirley Jones is still with us.
Excellent story Jordan, hope your grandfather is doing well!!
I’m sorry to hear about the demolition. It is heartbreaking. Time doesn’t wait. But how fortunate you were to have known her. And her home, a piece of Hollywood history. Thank you for sharing.
Your devotion to your friends and family is commendable. I wonder what ever became of Shelly's daughter? Thank you for your efforts Jordan. Take care.
You are a kind person to share your memories with all of us. I’m sure Shelly really appreciated you and your kind heart.
Sorry Jordan that this house that has so many amazing memories is gone. Shelley Winters would be so happy that you took the time to talk about her and show online an amazing piece of history was gone. May Shelley rest in peace knowing how much you cared for her. Shelley was blessed to be loved by so many people.
GBU Jordan... 😢🙏💔 So glad we were able to see it on your video & no one can take that memory away...😊
Thanks to your UA-cam videos, the memory of Shelley Winters' home will live on forever.
Sad that they constantly tear down old Hollywood Great vlog
Amazing how she moved her parents to Hollywood! You were so lucky to have her in your life.
So sad to see Hollywood History disappear in a day, Shelly was right, she knew how valuable her land was. Keep you memories close to your heart you'll have them forever ❤
Loved Shelley and all the stories of your wonderful friendship Jordan~❤
Oh MY, Glad you were her friend.
Oh Jordan I am so sorry, I know there were many fond memories with your friend Shelley in that house. Take care and be safe.
I know you are sad to see Shelley's home gone, but I imagine she's laughing her butt off because she predicted that. Keep the memories alive, Jordan!
I know you said she was such a great friend to you, but you have to remember that you were a great friend to her as well. As much as you treasure that, I have to believe she still treasures you as well!
Thank you so much for doing these things, I just watched your Carol Lombard jewelry the video. Again, thank you so much.❤
The house might've been demolished, but you still have the memories of Shelley and the place. Sadly, progress doesn't care for history. At least you recorded it for prosperity.
Yes, so sad and I wonder where all the contents and books went, in Ireland we’d tend to preserve or keep old houses especially if someone famous lived there… my heart resonates with you especially the closeness and connection you had with her…
I love❤ Shelley Winters . I loved her in the Poseidon adventure. It was so sad when she died all she wanted to do was see her grandkids and when the preacher gave her husband the metal it made me cry
Hey, thanks for being so respectful of Shirley and her house- and for sharing your memories with us❤
Yes it is sad that houses are knocked down. Your memories will always be with you and having the pictures and videos is more special now.
Ms. Shelly is Blessed to have had you as a Dear Friend…. And you, too… were Blessed to have her…. It’s nice you brought closure to her Special Loved Home❤️🙏
I loved your story on her ❤ you seem like you where like such a kind soul to her
So sorry. It’s so sad, all the houses and buildings getting demolished.
Sorry to see that Shelley's home is now gone. I know it held a lot of special memories for you. Over the years I have seen my childhood lake home demolished as well as the high school my mother, sister and I all attended. I know they're just buildings, but when we lose them, we lose a little piece of our personal history as well.
So sorry Jordan. my dad has been gone almost 20 years and everytime one of his things break; I do too...
So sorry, Jordan, but thanks for your heartfelt update.
This afternoon I'm mourning/
A piece of herstory/
The house where Shelly Winters lived/
Cut down just like a tree
The moments I spent with
her there/
Were precious ones indeed/
A friendship we had so sincere/
This loss makes my heart bleed
A true Hollywood legend/
A star who shone so bright/
Her house now gone but my memories/
Will forever delight!
Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and sharing your fond memories of her with us.
Heart wrenching news for you and her relatives, glad you told us how much this house was important to you when it was still standing
I am very thankful you were in her life and she was in yours ❤
Jordan, I love your stories about Shelley! Had you seen the inside of her duplex, it was gorgeous! Stained glass windows and fireplaces! A home to raise her child and bring comfort to her parents. I hate that they are tearing down homes to put up Condos! Memories are forever, and nobody can take that away from you! She was the best! Loved this vlog! 🐾❤️ 🐾
Down to earth People don't need fancy houses, they have normal loved homes.
Great video Jordan. I loved Shelly Winters. Her and your Grandma were lucky to have you in their lives.
Jordan I totally understand I cried when the house I grew up in was torn down even thought it was the best thing that happened and sadly my mom didn't get to enjoy her new one cause she died of cancer about a week after we moved in but I still have a small piece of the boards that was the floor in my old room
Jordan, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video. I am so sorry the house is gone. I know Shelley was a very good friend. Those wonderful memories will always remain.
Hey Jordan, love your stories about Shelly Winters and Eddie Van Halen. Great memories.
Its very sad you have the great memories and She is locking down and is proud of you ❤
The information on when construction started on 9/22/2022 which was shown on the video. Great job and thank you 👍😊
Hello Jordan 😊Very sad.The end of a Era.😮
Thanks for this up update! She was one of a kind! 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi Jordan, So sorry to hear this. Your love and affection for Shelly (and vice versa) has always been evident.
Losing a highly impactful person from our lives (especially when it's a reciprocal surrogate relationship) is always difficult.
The demolition of the house is another layer of loss and something to be processed (It's the last physical manifestation of Shelly and the scene of so many memories)...Feel and express what you need to.
Blessings to you and safe travels
Mark K
Thank you for the follow up Jordan. Remember the good times sir.
Thanks for the update. Sad as it is. Enjoying your videos and have happily subscribed.
Jordan you have so many special memories of her. Your blessed. She seems like a lovely lady. ❤
I’m sorry but I guess life goes on. She would be so darn proud of you.
So sad, thank you for sharing the memories and stories 😥
I lived a few doors down from here on Oakhurst Drive from age 6 to 11 in the 1950s. I remember her house at the end of the street. Kim Novak lived in an apartment at the other end of the block.
A follower of your journeys. Enjoyed this and thanks.
Thanks for the update
Beautiful memories, thank you for sharing your story with us.
i still enjoy your videos on shelly Winters . And stories you tell about your friendship with her .plus the crazy story about Robert Blake showing up at shelleys birthday.Thank you Jordan for sharing this great video 📷📷 always much appreciated
Aww...so sad...life goes on...but Shelly will never be forgotten. So happy you made her last days better.
It’s so hard to know that people from the golden era (I call it ) don’t mean a lot to people around them .. I’d love to know the older people I know , they have the best stories and have the most amazing lives
This is one of the reasons that I subbed to your channel - I saw the first Shelley Winters video that you put up. It’s so sad to see the house gone.
Thank you for sharing these wonderful memories. She was a great friend and those memories are so beautiful to have and to share, I hope someday you write a book about your friendship. There's so much wonderful kindess and a true friendship you shared. Wonderful vlog. Thank you! ;)
Thanks for the news Jordan. ~~~Sherry
Thank you for the update though, appreciated x😢
This is sad. I am so very sorry this happened. It's so sad how soon people are forgotten and their existence erased. I am profoundly sorry.
This was such a beautiful story about you and Shelly. It was very sad to see her house being torn down… at least you have all the memories… love your channel
Thank you for this update.
Hi Jordan, how sad that Shelly house is already gone. We know progress in the making. It's very cool that you did become friends with her. All the great memories that you have of her no one will be able to ever take that away. It's amazing the people we get to meet in this world and the wonderful impression she made on you. At least you got a chance to see it before it was gone and now that it is gone you also had a chance to see that as well. Happy Adventures
Oh Jordan, what a shame. I’m so sorry.
Loved this Jordan. I can’t believe you actually knew her. Such a great back story. Xo
Thank you for sharing your stories about Shelley.
Always you post something interesting and thanks a lot!
😊👋
I’m sorry your friends house is gone. Especially bc she loved it so much.
Thank you for the update. I have wondered myself if it was still there after watching your last video about Shelly. Sad to see it has been taken down 😢
