This is fantastic! Thank you so much for posting this video. What incredible memories. I met Shelley Winters in 1987 at the Ralph's supermarket on 3rd and San Vicente in West Hollywood. I was standing in the express line and this little disheveled woman in front of me turned around and asked me to open a package of nuts. "Plastic has ruined the world," she said. I recognized her voice immediately. I was blown away. Then she got kicked out of line because she had too many items! She was very gracious about it and as she was walking away, I mentioned I was a huge fan of her work. Long story short: she invited me to come by her duplex and chat. It was a memory I'll cherish forever.
Thanks for sharing, Jordan, your friendship with Shelley Winters. Those are precious moments & memories we reach out to when our days don’t go as well as other times❣️🌹
I remember watching you ages ago and you told us about your friendship with Miss Shelley. I was thinking how much she must have enjoyed her time with you, and than her words in picture she gave you, LOVELY 🥰❣I had a 94 year old friend, we got on like a house on fire, I miss her deeply 💗
Your Shelley Winters' story was very touching. I worked with her on "SOB" in the late '70s. She was a handful and lots of fun. Thanks for remembering her.
I loved her in 'S.O.B.' Everyone was good in that. I think more than a couple of us would love to read you expand on your comment that she was a lot of "fun" on that film.

I've never ever heard that Miss Winters was jaded, or bitchy, or mean to her fans. I meet the great lady once at the French Quarter in West Hollywood in 89 and she was charming, beautiful and so so sweet. I was eating lunch with my than bf and of all people in the world to sit at the next table, the great Shelley Winters. I had no idea I was starring. She put her menu down, looked straight at me and said. "Sweetie, close your mouth. They charge extra for starring." I laughed than apologized and told her how much I loved her. "I LOVE, when men love me. " she replied. She was heaven. A true lady and Star. God Bless her.

I so enjoyed seeing all the vlogs about Shelly, you are a lucky fellow, and she was lucky too, to find someone who could appreciate her and be her friend late in life....not a common thing.
Thank you for sharing those special times and items you had from Shelly. Not everybody has had someone who would be willing to share time and talent to help them along in life. You had a very special person help you there, Jordan. “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God”. Matt. 5:8. You got to see that pure heart in her and it reflected onto you, and thus we see you pass it on. 👍🏻
I was very touched when I saw that she donated her Oscar to the Anne Frank house - I thought it showed what a classy lady she was - she was one of the last old Hollywood starlets -
Starlet? The first thing I ever saw her in was Lolita, w/ James Mason. - she was NO starlet then! But she was a great actress. I just recently saw her when she was young & very pretty. cheers
Jordan, I love hearing your stories of you and Shelley Winters friendship! You can always learn from older actresses; especially her! She would have given you the connections in Hollywood, but she just wanted a peaceful life, with friends! I'm so thankful that you were here's! Unforgettable Vlog!
It is amazing that Shelly Winters opened up to you. I know it is always hard for movie stars to make just friends with people because most people want things out of them. But you and she obviously gave each other friendship. Someone to talk to and hang out with, with no strings attached. I've always loved Shelly Winters. I read her book. She had such a colorful life. She lived in a time that it seemed, all the movie stars were born. An amazing actress. I loved seeing her home. The fact that she bought a place, not for just herself, not a showy place, but a place for her parents and her daughter, says a lot about her. I'm so glad she opened up to you. The photos she gave you are a treasure. I hope to hear more about her from you. Thank you for sharing such a personal and private relationship with us.
It is really wonderful you became friends with Shelly Winters! I was a fan of hers and really liked her personality and attitude to put people in their place. She had a strong character But a big heart. Leo is an awesome sign anyway. Very nice gifts you received on your birthday from Shelly. But, I'm sure the memories of your friendship and time together mean the most to your heart.
We always used to see Shelley Winters with her daughter all over the place usually going to sales. She always seemed friendly and nice to me. If you live in L.A your bound to see all sorts of people :) .
I loved Shelly Winters! She was great even on the Roseanne Show! She was that tough old lady that you just had to love! A heart of GOLD! And Hey my son is a LEO and I agree, special , beautiful people for sure!!!!!!
Wow again ! I'm sitting here at home watching a few of you vlogs and every one I've chosen to view has been more awesome than the previous. I really enjoyed this and I can tell that Shelley saw something very special in you as she welcomed you into her private world. You should feel very honored. Thanks again for sharing.
I love this story. I had always heard of Shelley Winters and knew who she was, but never saw her in any movies. I do remember when she played Nana Mary on Roseanne. She was great. They say you are blessed if you have just one friend. You were blessed to have her....I’m sure you had more than that but you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing.
Amyco ... did you ever get around to watching any of the Shelley Winters movies ? If not , please do , you might want to start with the Poseidon Adventure .
I first saw Shelley in Poseidon Adventure when she was heavy set so I usually remember her that way even though later on I saw older movies of her when she was thinner. She actually looked pretty good in the picture you showed. Anytime I saw her on Johnny Carson she was awesome and funny. I don't think there will every be a Golden Era in Hollywood again so I am glad I got to see some of the greatest.

Wonderful A Place in the Sun! I always enjoyed watching her on Roseanne because it seemed that character seemed to be how she was in real life. Also The Diary of anne frank. Iam sorry you lost such a friend. Shelley always great in all she did. Although a rather vile character in A Patch of Blue, she played it superbly.

This was such a great video. Thanks for sharing your memories of Shelly. She seemed like such a sweet, sweet lady. I loved hearing your stories about her.
One of my favorite vlogs. Shelly lives on through you. Just shows that the people who are older than us can teach us a lot and the elderly deserve are respect and care.
When I saw ths was about Shelly, I had to watch it. I know how special she was to you.Wonderful Birthday Gift Jordan. I do not know your Birthday, but when it comes, remember she'd have been so proud of you. I have two children who are also Leos.
Shelley Winters was a beautiful bombshell, back in the day. She wrote a wonderful bio of old Hollywood. TY for your vids, Jordan. Brings back my childhood growing up in Burbank and Hollywood.
He Ran All The Way was John Garfield's last movie. Shelley was great (as usual) but she also had Wallace Ford in the cast. He played her father in this, and in A Patch of Blue, for which she won her second Oscar....she almost lost an expensive necklace that Oscar night.
I have always enjoyed Shelley Winters' outspoken personality. Read her book MANY years ago. She was an interesting person and she led a fascinating life. I'm so glad she was a kind friend.
Jordan, I'm just discovering this story of yours. Have you ever thought of writing a screenplay or pitching an idea for a movie about your relationship? This really is what movies are made of. It might reveal some of your more personal moments together but I think it's a wonderful story that should be shared.
What awesome memories for you, I can here the emotion in your voice. I'm sure she was a wonderful lady full of stories to tell. I'm glad you got to share part of your life with her. Maybe that is why you are so kind to others!
I went to college with Shelley Winter's daughter, Tory. True story: After I graduated and went to the AFI in Beverly Hills, I called her and asked if I could invite her mother to talk to us students. Tory agreed and gave me the number. I called Shelley at around 5 PM...and she was obviously intoxicated, but long story short, she agreed. So I approached the powers at AFI, Nina Foch and Tony Vellani about inviting her to speak. Nina's face went white, and I wondered what I'd said. They took the invitation "under advisement". Shelley Winters never came. I found out later that in the early 1950s, Nina had an affair with Shelley Winter's husband at the time, Italian actor Vittorio Gassman (Tory's last name). I was a naive 22 year old kid. Welcome to Hollywood...
Well, Don you didn't know! You did nothing wrong! I just knew when you just told us! That was an unforgettable grudge that Shelley held! Who could blame her..! Husbands are off limits..period!
@@ceciliem1811 Actually, I think Shelley Winters was over it. From her reaction, I deduced that Nina nixed it because of guilt. Nina Foch was a phenomenal teacher, but a very complicated woman. She called herself one of the "walking wounded" because of the blacklist of the 1950s, and it left her somewhat bitter.

Watched this video originally few years ago. Whether hanging out with a Hollywood star or not, there is much to be said about having a close relationship with an elder. So much can be learned in a friendship with a mature friend and different than hanging with an elderly Aunt or Uncle. Memories earned.

Hey! Jordon. You are such a fortunate fellow. Especially, after meeting all these great wonderful celebrities, from the Hollywood Golden Picture Era, such as Martin Landau and Shelley Winters, for instance. Thank you! For this memorable presentation and i most certainly hope that you’ve passed the commercial audition, over at Castaway Agency? Lol! Take! care, my friend and good luck, with all of your career endeavors. Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦
Jordan, this vlog made me laugh and cry ... and just be still.
It was sooo sweet hearing you reminisce about things ... especially Shelly.
It is obvious you both LOVED each other dearly! It's like she was your stand-in "mom" or "grandmother" while you're so far away from home.
On her picture she signed that you came late, but just in time. I love that. I believe she did the same for you.
It's fascinating how certain things happen the way they do, huh?
Treasure your memories, Jordan. They will carry you through.
Blessings!

Very touching story of your friendship with Shelley Winters. Thank you for sharing your reminiscences about her.
I love you telling stories about Shelly Winters💙Awe Jordan you were so cute with long hair💙
So many memories at the Jerry's Deli on Beverly and also the one in Studio City. Great times!
Oh my, just love Jahs stretch. He is one of a kind.
@@donbrown1284 what is Tory like?
@@MsDragonese A sweetheart -- a very smart girl who wanted nothing to do with show business. I asked her if she wanted to play Maid Marion in my movie with RFK Jr. (as Robin Hood) in my junior year and she turned me down. After graduation from Harvard, she went to Columbia Law School.
What special memories you have of Shelly Winters Thank you for sharing
Wow that's so awesome ,you had a really special friendship with Shelley sounds like she loved you very much Jordan

I’m glad I came across this vlog, I never seen it before, but it was very interesting, thanks for sharing Shelly Winters home, and I’m so glad they didn’t bulldoze it down,
Gotta love the puppy!!! He's so cute! My friend lived in the condo below Lana Turner in Century City. His besties were Diane Ladd and Patsy Kelly! Hope you got it!
Very cool stories. Thanks for sharing!
Great friend of yours. And thank you for sharing such a personal story with us. I could tell she
was a very close friend.
It was great to see the home! Like all the other information. Thank you!
Wow that is amazing!! Thanks Jordon!! I am thankful that I found your channel!! Catching up with your past vlogs and and learning so many fascinating info.
.
really, Really, REALLY COOL !!! LOVE the stories of 'old' Hollywood.......thanks so much for sharing this !!!
.
This is so awesome, I have always admired her. You both were blessed to have such a wonderful friendship.
Watched this video originally few years ago. Whether hanging out with a Hollywood star or not, there is much to be said about having a close relationship with an elder. So much can be learned in a friendship with a mature friend and different than hanging with an elderly Aunt or Uncle. Memories earned.
Thank you Jordan for this vlog. Very nice vlog about where you worked and Shelley. Nice.
Love Shelley...so awesome you two were friends!!! ❤️
