Jordan, she sang 23 times at the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race opening ceremonies for Memorial Day. She did this "gig" from 1991 until 2015. Her voice was awesome singing the national anthem, "God Bless America" or "America the Beautiful". She was so well like by the organization of the Speedway and the fans. She was a funny and pleasant human being, a "class act"! Singing in front of 300,000 race fans in all kinds of weather: heat and humidity in no small task! She never disappointed and was a real "trooper"! She is missed. Thanks, Jordan!

Jim Nabors singing “Back Home In Indiana” either before or after her singing was the tradition too. I was lucky enough to attend the race 6-7 years in a row with press passes as our neighbor would take our family in a motorhome for 3 days to stay on the infield. He managed the local NBC affiliate in our N. IL city. Those were good days.

The house was registered a historical building, and I do believe there are now built in stipulations that will prevent any future changes. It’s been up for sale two months now, it doesn’t seem like there has been any serious offers, that to me isn’t a good sign. ☹️ HGTV acted like it was going to stay there’s and then all of a sudden they put it up for sale. I think that’s kind of sucky. Lance Bass wanted it.

@@jf9488thank you I didn't know it was registered and good to know. I remember when Lance Bass thought the sale was his. That's a high price tag now that all the work has been done. Will be interesting to see where this goes, I'll be watching for sure.

This house is listed on Zillow with many photos of it 'staged' as it was on the show. Really cool, I was a kid in the 70's and remember living with the 'avocado green, mustard yellow, etc. colors in vogue then. Brady Bunch was one of my favorite shows and wanted to have their "perfect, happy life!" Looking at the photos on Zillow I visualized the 'Brady's' scenes! lol

I loved the Brady Bunch!! 5.5 million dollars? 😳 Wow...!! You could build your own replica of a Brady Bunch house somewhere else a whole lot cheaper and use that money to feed a lot of hungry children all over the world with that kind of money. RIP Florence Henderson. She was the greatest TV mom. Thank you Jordan for sharing this with us. Loved it.

I worked on the show Growing Up Brady at Paramount in 2000. It was a trip to see the recreation of the sets used for The Brady Bunch. And I got to meet Barry Williams. A fun part of my job is working on things I grew up watching or liking in the 80's. It happened with Married With Children, Indiana Jones, and several Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, and Stallone movies. Never gets old.

Joyce Bulifant was cast as Carol Brady, and Florence had a last-minute audition, and Sherwood Schwartz felt that Florence would be the perfect Carol Brady, and she was. Rest In Peace.

    • @EastSide-qc5oy

Also. Ann B. Davis was already cast as Alice, and Sherwood Schwartz decided after considering Florence that he much preferred the chemistry and balance between Florence and Ann B. versus Joyce and Ann B. Their on screen charisma worked better together. Joyce had a bit of a trademark “zany” comedic style that didn’t balance as well with Ann B due to Ann B. already having a bit of a zany comedic style herself. Florence was funny and endearing but also more down to earth which contrasted nicely with Ann B.

Fun Fact: The Brady Bunch set was backwards on the inside. If you recall, the living room was immediately on the inside once walking into the front doors, and the stairs to the second floor were on the right hand side when looking from the front of the house… but yet the actual second floor was on the left hand side of the house from the front door.

The foliage at the front looks like NZ native flora…. Tree fern, broadleaf hedge and a variegated flax bush at 2:08

Don't know if anyone else noticed this, but at the top of the column she's in, also has Lloyd Bochner, who did two spots on the Golden Girls.

As a kid in the 60s and 70s I remember all the moms had that same "shag" hairstyle at one time.😄 Yep, the Brady Bunch was a fixture for me growing up. My Dad didn't like it, but he'd usually humor me and let me watch it.
