@BeautifulSunshine0211 In 2 days it will be a month since I had the surgery. As soon as my insurance approved it , they called me abt a week after and I picked my date. Today I will be going into my soft food stage and I'm already nervous 😓 introducing foods again has its ups and downs but I'm excited to eat some salmon 😅. I've lost 22lb total since my surgery, slow and steady wins the race.
This is amazing! I have decided to have this surgery and you have helped me come to this decision by sharing so much factual information. Thank you SO much!
I’m scheduled for December 8th and. I’m very excited.A little nervous as well.I just know it’s the best option for me.After the sleeve comes knee replacements.A new life for me!
@@Mizz_Love Yes I did have the sleeve done in December 2023 it has been going great I started out at 244 pounds I started my pre- surgery diet in July 2023 and i lost about 28 pounds before the surgery now I am at 174 pounds and working on getting to about 155 pounds and I would say it is a great program I wish you luck on your journey
You are awesome for showing us this video because I'm going to do the bypass 2 and I'm very happy to know what's going to happen and I'm very comfortable with it from Fresno God love
You do sleeve gastrectomy as 15years ago. Use 3staplers with hemostatic tissue, full automatic. You calibrate your stomach but you don't check before cutting the stomach.
I had gastric bypass in Nov 2019,a few months before the pandemic. I am not skinny, but I am what might be called “normal “. I am convinced that I would have been very sick during the pandemic if I didn’t have the surgery
This is an absolutely amazing technology! This has given me such a great insight into this surgery. I appreciate the great walkthrough and explanations for this learner. Thank you :)
My bariatric surgeon called me yesterday and I got approved. I’m excited now it’s 10 weeks of class. I won’t be getting the sleeve I’m getting the bypass my mine wasn’t set right of 90% of my stomach being taken out. I think that is just too much trauma on the mind❤❤
Well I got my surgery done Nov 8,2023 and today is Nov 13, 2023. I was discharged Nov 10, 2023 and was hospitalized Nov 12, 2023 for dehydration. I have to drink liquid 1 ounce every 15 minutes, but get full so fast. Increase your water intake more than the Ensure(that was my problem, I had it backwards). This surgery is painful and hard to adjust to. If I didn’t have a medical issue, I would’ve never gotten it.
I almost died three years ago. Got a fever, infection, leaking and lots of blood loss. I had to have a second surgery with the surgeon opening my abdomen and look for the leak. He then put a feeding tube into my regular stomach. Which he never removed my stomach from out of my body. 2 pints of blood transfusion It was gastric bypass. I spend 35 days in the ICU. Orlando. Dr.Beltree. It’s been three years I still suffer of stomach pain when I eat. I eat heathy and slow. I saw pray before you decide. I was supposed to get the gastric sleeve. After six months he decided he was going to do the gastric bypass.
@@Tiggerlove97 I was so weak for the first two in a half years. I didn’t have the energy to seek for a lawyer. Even I finally did no lawyer wanted to take my case. We are in September 4th I still have gastric pain.
My endocrinologist was quick to tell me my insurance covers the sleeve. I opt for the Opti fast diet which worked but financially cant keep up. I now want to get the sleeve for a longer lasting instead of ruining my diet like i did. This gives me hope. Only problem is i read that if you already have acid reflux it will get worse. Anyone have a successful surgery without having acid reflux or it making it worse?
I used to have pretty bad acid reflux (because I ate like a pig!) and have had a sleeve gastrectomy and as I can no longer stuff my face like a maniac, my reflux has practically disappeared.
I'm deathly afraid for my surgery. I'm getting surgery 06/07 and I'm doing the preop diet and I smoked some Marijuana today a few times from a vape to calm my nerves. I quit cold turkey like a month or so ago and then finally today I smoked some. Idk if I need to tell the doctors now. I'm obviously not going to smoke the day of but what's gonna happen to me. Am I gonna have issues or complications??
If you want to see what their doing you have to pinch the video and it’ll show you like with your two fingers on the screen zoom in and it’ll flip the rotation to what their doing
@tiona mitchell went great, I've lost 22lb since, and today I go into my final eating stage b4 I can eat normal again, but I'm nervous 😓 introducing new foods has its ups and downs
I feel like with any and all educational surgery videos that the explanation should be done with a voice over rather than during the surgery. Each and every surgery is very serious and can run certain risks. It may not be the case, but I feel that when your focus is on making a video, your main focus is no longer on the patient on the table. The patient will have a longer surgery which will keep them under anesthesia longer which I hear is also undesirable. I am sure you are a great surgeon and an amazing team. But just from my own point of view, I feel this patient wasn’t the priority in this video.
This is amazing. I just had my gastric bypass on 12/30/24. I’m home and recuperating.
Love you Dr. Ortiz! You gave me my life back in 2018! 110 pounds, forever gone!
May I ask, what happens to the staples? Do they stay inside you? Or do they dissolve?
@@gray.photography4839they stay inside you
I'm waiting for my insurance to approve me, and I'm getting nervous, it's happening so fast I hope I get approved
Please give us an update
