I got my surgery 9 month ago in Germany. Best decision of my life. I‘m really fine. Loosing my weight, playing golf is so much more fun now. I’m only 5 to 6 kilograms away from my target.

Even though I've been trying to lose weight for years, I realized that I couldn't do it without surgery. I live in the USA and unfortunately my financial situation is not good enough to receive treatment here. That's why I decided to get treatment in a different country. It was impossible for me to pay 12.000€ here. Instead I found a clinic in Turkey. Slimmer and fitter. I got a very successful result. The cost of treatment is only 2500€. At this price they picked me up from the airport and made me stay at the hotel. I am very satisfied with the result and would recommend it to you as well.

Well done mate. I’m 65 and have been overweight most of my life. I’m due to have the gastric sleeve early next year. I am currently 125kGs. I’ve just had my left ankle fused. My left knee last year was replaced. All this is to do with being overweight. Good luck on your journey. A well wisher from Western Australia.

I almost died having my gastric bypass surgery. The surgeons damaged my liver whilst moving it up perform the surgery and they didn't notice so i went a whole week with internal bleeding until i collapsed and stopped breathing. Luckily my partner gave me chest compressions and called the ambulance, i had to have multiple blood transfusions and have further surgery to remove all the blood, and a drain to remove any further bleeding. I was on bed rest for 6 days in hospital, fingers crossed 🤞 hopefully i have no more complications.

had the surgery done at tufts. If you are considering getting this surgery, get it done at a teaching hospital. They have the highest success ratings.
If you are considering it, talk to you’re a doctor and those that have gone through it.
Those that are heavy and have done nothing about it are not particularly a good source of objective advice. In fact they seem to be a good source of friends who have friends who have friends that have horror stories.
The real horror story is That of Doing nothing.

Had GB about 1.5 years ago. I had some complications about 6 months ago. I was more careful with what I ate and it passed (took about three months to really go away. Pains in my stomach, could not eat certain foods that I could before it started, tests did not show anything. Scary time). Glad it finally went away. Had zero problems before or after. Lost 140 lbs the first year. Got to my ideal weight. Have not gained it back. I have put on muscle (but I lift pretty regularly). I know a lot of people that had no complications. Some others have nothing but problems. Weird.

I had mine thinking I would lose lots of weight. 4m post op I've only lost 22kg 95 to 73. When I get anxiety and stressed I could eat 6 packs of wotsits 2 bits of biscuut and later feel nauseous and cramps. I can't eat bread its too heavy tried once and felt like I couldn't breathe, I feel like snacking constantly when I'm stressed and I don't feel full. I hardly exercise with a toddler who doesn't sleep! I'm losing 2-3kgs a month now which is great as I don't want lose skin. I wish the result would be faster tho I'm not helping myself by snacking. Im training myself mentally and hoping that 8 months down the line I can lose a further 28-33kg to reach my ideal goal of 40-45kg. Its achievable😇

The results are great only if they would last:( I lost 36 kilos in 2 years and gained 20 kilos after 3 years. Now after 10 years i got all my weight back altho i try to eat healthy food in general. I lost half of my hair i get vitamins etc all the time. They also told me i would never get diabetes but now i do . I wouldnt suggest this surgery only if it would be for emergency healthy reasons. Its not a surgery that you will do and get rid of your weight once for all. Its a surgery that will help you eat less and make you learn that you cant eat the amount of food you were eating before. If after a few years learn how to eat (as it happend to me) meaning more often but small portions you lost the game and you just get the weight back with all the problems of the surgery that occured.

Don’t be. I just got the sleeve a week ago. Minimal pain, no throwing up since I left the hospital. If you get it, be patient with yourself and eat very slowly. Follow your surgeon’s instructions. You’ll be fine, it’s done everyday.

"Imagine doing something today, that you couldnt?" Well I cant eat a slice of pizza today, or two, or go out for drinks ( alcohol), and I could before surgery :( . My last pleasures in life are gone. To... Golf? That is not even a sport. That is a rich people thing. Blargh. I am so out of myself, 6 day post op, dreaming of food while living in a room all day and night, alone, and it will be like this for MONTHS.

That’s great, but where is the reporting on VERTICAL SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY (“VSG”)?! VSG has long overtaken Gastric ByPass in popularity. It has been around 15 years now, and is performed more often than Gastric ByPass. Only patients with longterm Diabetes and a BMI over 50 are the usual candidates for ByPass. The Sleeve is MUCH LESS invasive, has fewer complications, has less recovery time and people can lose massive weight with it. I would understand not mentioning The Sleeve if it was 1998, but it’s 2019. Where have you BEEN?!

There are still many valid reasons to have bypass over the sleeve, all data and scientifically proven. Everyone is different and should follow the advice of their surgeon.

I'm 31 years old, about to go for bypass over sleeve because i find the sleeve is basically taking away and the bypass is still leaving in everything. I cannot imagine not actually having a stomach. I was told by my Surgeon that sleeves are usually offered for younger patients because it still allows for sugar and alcohol so is less restrictive. But for me i don't drink, so it all depends on the individuals needs.

I chose the GB (about 1.5 years ago). It worked well for me. There is definitely pros and cons to each, but the GB is better studied and still the gold standard. There are doctors that prefer the sleeve, but I would hardly say it has overtaken GB.

My mom had gastric bypass in 2006 and basically ended up starving to death over the course of 15 years. She died this month. The last 3 years she could barely eat and lost half of her body weight after already being underweight. She was so weak and couldn't walk. The doctors just kept sending her home. Finally her blood pressure was so low she fell and broke her artificial shoulder. She died a week later from surgical complications. Bottom line, this is a nasty procedure and in my opinion should be banned. Yeah it feels good the first two years when weight comes off but beware, for the rest of your life you are slowly starving to death.

If you're morbidly obese, you are not starving, and clearly you can reduce some portions of food. Eating less isn't the same thing as not eating at all.
Portion control is key, anything you eat can be healthy moderation.
The surgery literally makes you eat less, but it's not necessary to go through all the pain and cost.. just sayin

    • @tyriaxepheles7996
      @tyriaxepheles7996 Рік тому

This surgery is for people who have a dysfunctional metabolism, meaning you either won't lose weight from diet and exercise or you cannot keep the weight off because the body has a high set point that it strives to. 95% of all diets end in failure. This kind of attitude is why we have societal problems with eating disorders and it's just so incredibly ignorant
