@@patlotpotlot6154 There is no decent pc gaming at that price tag.....sorry but its a fact. If someone doesnt mind lowering their resolution plus playing on all low settings with worst performance than a console then by all means waste money but if your gonna spend 400 bucks get a console and get better performance....... Pc gaming is only worth it at about 800 plus.
This is staged anyway. Why would HP send 12100f without a Graphics card?
I took a HP 290-p0043w SLIM, upgraded the CPU to an i7-8700 for $80, slapped 2x8 2666 Ram kit already had. Didn't perform like I wanted it to on the IGPU, so i bought an RX580 off amazon for $99 (NEW). had to use a PCIE riser cable, & ordered 2 additional plugs to split the MINI 8 pin power between the HDD & GPU. The GPU is sitting outside the case at this current moment but man I'm shocked at how good this thing runs games @1080P I was worried about the power supply not being big enough but so far so good. My youngest son is using it to play Fortnite, Roblox & Warzone.
RX580 is 185W, it takes more wattage than the PSU even has completely

Very nice. I love these budget build gaming computers. I have a couple of PCs I ordered from eBay and trying to turn into gaming computers.
I find it a really good and cheap way to get into PC gaming without breaking the bank.
So yeah I do love seeing stuff like this.
for builds like this where the gpu gets really hot you guys should do some undervolting and show the temp and performance differences

Bro this literally my PC, got it on sale from Staples for like $250 in December (new) and got the GPU for $150. Love it, upgraded the ram (32 GB) and updated the SSD space.

@__looking_good things are twice expensive here unfortunately... 1000$ is giving a low to mid range pc
97 degC on the GPU. I would cut a 120mm x 240mm hole in the side panel right over the PCI slots and mount a couple of 120mm x 15mm fans with a sheet of air filter mesh on the outside of the side panel blowing onto the GPU. These fans would also provide positive air pressure to the inside of the case. Maybe neaten it up with some trim around the fans.
Send me the PC and I'll fabricate a side panel fan system and then send it back to you.

The sapphire 6400 is much quicker you don't have to remove the shroud
Remember if you can get a full tower, go for an rx 580, its cheaper (even when new) and performs a lot better.

@@SnowWow what country you live in? In the United States where I live. You can get a 500w 80 plus white unit for $39.99 U.S dollars. Power supplies are not that expensive
@@jonathan-qd1cc Well, here's the thing. If you have a PC like the one they were using, you usually can't switch out the PSU. HP usually uses proprietary parts for things like the PSU and Mobo, meaning, you couldn't really switch that out...
i came to this video from ebay cuz i found this pc on ebay for 175 bucks usd and i was like i gyatt to get this pc and im planning on getting it in a few days to a week and there is better options than the rx 6400 but that would take 2 slots and require a psu upgrade and as in for the side panel u could mod it by getting mesh sheets and cutting the side panel and placing in the mesh sheet into the cut out and that should help with frame throttling and bad thermals
I salvaged an e-waste Dell that could only handle a single-slot GPU and the (same) RX6400 fit perfect. I use it as a Wii emulation box and it runs great.
For this price of $400 I would have just custom built with used parts. Overall much better in my opinion
Yeah, and tbh for that price you are better off with console...Im a pc fan boy but pc gaming only becomes better at 800 dollars plus. You cant buy the parts at the prices these companies get them for to build their consoles.

For around 550 USD you can build a brand new Ryzen 5 4500, B550 motherboard,GTX 1650 LP, 16 Gbs 3200 Mhz CL16 RAM, good power supply and a decent case. This pricing is in the EU.
You get about equal performance and a far better upgrade path. HP is full of proprietary bull and cost cutting.
You can go up to 600 USD and get a Ryzen 5 5600 and get PCIE Gen 4.
@@Liminal.Headspace you are exactly right. I don’t know why people go with these proprietary prebuilts. They have 0 upgrade path. With a custom pc you get all freedom and upgrade path you need and for much better value and price

Love the video. I would take a LP 1650 over a LP RX 6400
I had an RX 6400 inside a Low Profile HP system for about 6 months and it always started thermal throttling after about 4h of playing Sea of Thieves
And I had the dual Slot but still low profile variant by Gigabyte
The overlay shows that it is an F class CPU. I assume this is a typo. It would seem odd for this computer to have no iGPU. it would imply that you have to upgrade it.

with the motherboard, could you eventually upgrade the process to an i5 or i7? You mentioned a good upgrade path but did not really talk about where you could upgrade, ie what processors would be compatible. What would be the first upgrade, graphics card, more RAM, processor. Thanks
You can as long its the same generation.
Example: upgrading from i3-12100f to i5-12600
If you're still not sure what CPU your motherboard supports, you could always type your motherboard's name + cpu support
Example: asus tuf plus gaming b450m cpu support (this motherboard is for ryzen, I just used it as an example)

I think i would rather go for the bigger rx 6400s with better cooling, especially here in Africa with hot climates. It could fail prematurely.
That card is actually the hottest model. Sapphire pulse and the other xfx model run a lot cooler

It probably has a 12100, but they mistyped 12100f in MSI Afterburner due to most people being used to the 12100f over the 12100.
@@Liinuli. I don’t think that’s how it works though, it’ll auto detect hardware and show it on the overlay, now that I’ve had some sleep I figured they just swapped the 12100 for an F skew since they were using a gpu
they swapped a hp pabillion gaming pc gtyx 1650 and putted in a 750ti.
@@kevinagostinello9968 Nah I looked it up. You have to manually type in the hardware you have on that overlay. Normally it just puts cpu, gpu, ram etc. So they just accidentally put 12100f instead of the 12100.
i bought a lenova pc for 370ish usd off amazon its a 1660 i5 with 32 gb ram and so far so good gta 5 60 -70 fps depends if im online or not
I'd mod the side panel and throw on some fans that pull some heat out of that hot box
Try undervolt the thing. i have similar setup in a similar hp case. undervolting my gpu lowered the temps by 6-8 degrees celsius. i even got higher and constant boost clocks! means more FPS, haha!
NO DVD DRIVE?????? I have to have a Blu-Ray drive just to be able to watch my movie and anime discs. I use AnyMP4 Blu-Ray player to play all movie discs from ANY region on the planet, without app ardware-locking the region if you play a disc from a specific region 5 times.

Surprisingly they're still in demand. I'd take the 1650 over it any day of the week.
I usually buy new samsung tablet s8 currently. Less powerful but good on power is what I'm looking for but yaw do good work for higher end gaming.

I have a sff hp compaq elite 8200 using i5 2400 and rx6400. My temp runs 85°c at 99%. With the side panel on.
What if you were to go with a2000 6gb?
That card would not fit inside that HP slim.
Its overprice for that gpu.

The temps are way too high for my liking... I would have modded the case if it was me for more air flow.
I'm assuming you can find a similar priced computer that takes full height graphics cards and hopefully standard power supplies?
I’ve got the same exact gpu in an older hp office pc rocking an i5 6500😂 I only use it for retro emulation, but kinda curious to see what it could do running newer titles

I like these guys content but I wouldn't spend $400 on this pc. The video card upgrade path is very limited. $400 goes a LONG way on Newegg these days towards a new pc build.

Yes, for this one they actually did tweak if, they switched a few things but all easy upgrades such as adding ram/replacement and gpu swap/or add

I am surprised you guys stated that HP case could handle double slot cards when those models with the PSU to the right of the slots always has the 16x slot right next to the PSU. Should always test the rig before upgrades but you guys know that too. Slacking a little boys. Might be time for vacation. 🙂

you can always drill holes on the side panel and if you have enough space maybe add a few small fans to increase cooling or completely remove the GPU fan and and cpu fan and op for water cooling you might need to customize it a bit and maybe have an external radiator

IF HP would put that X16 PCIE Slot to be the top one, that GPU would be able to "breath" properly.

I never see any the " PC GURUS " test sports game , UFC ,FIFA, MADDEN etc... It's always the same games , Fortnite , Witcher , GTA , cyberpunk 😅
Because sports games are trash and most people playing them do so on console since pc is too hard for them to understand.
