    Great stuff as always Chris. Based on your review from a couple of years ago I got the 24mm GM, and its by far my favourite lens, I barely use a 35mm now.

    I made the change to go to the 24mm 1.4 GM from various 35mms. I am very happy with the perspective and how much of the environment I am able to capture. It’s definitely my go to lens now.

    I ordered the 24gm for our Hawaii trip, we leave in 10 hours and it never showed. Suuuuper pissed BUT I love your videos so much I nearly forgot about it!

    Awesome work! Just got the 24gm a couple of weeks ago. The price truly hurt my wallet, but the quality of it is insane (I do not regret getting it)! Thanks for so many great videos! Your videos combined with a few other youtubers made my decision rather easy!
    Cheers!

    I love the 24mm, just shot an engagement shoot at the weekend with it. So sharp, and great colours with CTM3 preset.

    You, sir, are a true artist. You make it look so effortless! This inspires me to use my 24mm lens more often. I just have to leave the 135 behind....it's getting a bit stale lol.

    I absolutely love it. Thanks Your way of looking i learn and learn how to open to 24 mm. Thanks Chris, I am gradually fallin in love with 24 mm, but it much tougher than 35 mm

    Love your photos and editing! I just shot a wedding with the 20mm F1.8 and 85mm F1.4 combo. The 20mm just feels that little bit too wide. This 24mm lens arrived today so it's a 85mm 1.4 + 24mm 1.4 combo for me. My arms sure do love that I keep the 70-200 and 24-70 in the bag now :-)

    I only use the 24mm 1.4 for video. I shoot almost everything in 4K and often use crop mode on the A7iii. I never use crop mode when doing stills though.

    Greta video man! I have been lurking for a bit and enjoying your content. The 24mm GM paired with my a7iii doesn’t yield the sharpest of shots unless I’m up close and personal which is not always the case on a wedding day. Any tips on nailing the tack sharp focus with such a wide lense. No issues with my 85gm or 35gm. I’m shooting with two a7iii’s

      It's amazing how shooting most of the photos at 1.4 makes them so sharp. I don't get it

    Hi Chris, when you shot this kind of event. Do you always shoot them underexpose or overexpose?

  • @markshirley01

    I love the 24 on my D750, I think the images are more contextual than a 85mm.
    Im hoping to buy a A7C with the new Sony FE 24mm f2.8 G Lens and the Sony FE 50mm f2.5 G Lens.
    I want a new small set up, I may go for two C bodies as they are so light and so no need to change lenses.

    It seems like you shot most of this at f/1.4, did you feel like you were missing focus a lot? Especially having two subjects with such a shallow depth of field.

    Awesome job! You convinced me to get the 24gm with your wedding video! I’ve even considered getting the a7c as my secondary body too! Anyway I see your shoot f1.4 almost the majority of the time, you don’t find yourself in a situation with the closer shots where the focus falls off due to the depth of field?

    • @ChrisTurnerPhotographer
      @ChrisTurnerPhotographer  3 роки тому +1

      Nah not at all. That’s one of the reasons why I like a 24, even at 1.4 the depth compression isn’t enough to cause any problems.

    Great video as always - I noticed you did not take any photos in portrait orientation - is this due to distortion? and the effect on the subjects (making them looked stretch/overly tall etc)

    • @ChrisTurnerPhotographer

      Nah I tend not to anyway, I dunno why i just don’t like it lol. Sometimes I will but not very often. I used to tell my second shooters to only shoot landscape as well

    do your presets work well with darker skin tones? So many presets add so much orange or other skin-tone effecting colors that really show up worse on darker skin tones.

    • @ChrisTurnerPhotographer
      @ChrisTurnerPhotographer  3 роки тому +1

      I do plenty of Indian weddings and use the same ones so I think so

      @@ChrisTurnerPhotographer purchased and played around on lots of different portraits in different lighting conditions - wow! These are the best presets I've ever purchased... You manipulated the f@ck out of every module, and it all looks classic and natural. Bravo.

    • @ChrisTurnerPhotographer
      @ChrisTurnerPhotographer  3 роки тому +2

      Honestly the hardest thing was getting good skin tone on every type AND not changing the colours of dresses etc too much, you might have to adjust a little for bright traditional Indian clothes etc but that’s about it

    • @DaveAerialPhotography
      @DaveAerialPhotography 3 роки тому

      If the skin seems too orange simply increase the luminance and maybe decrease the saturation a little on the orange.
